    Car Egged :(

Love that part in Pulp Fiction, so bloody true.
  2. Once the line is under pressure there is no difference. It's the difference in time it takes to pressurize that line that is important. The difference in time it takes is the amount of volume between the two sources that air has to occupy. (Think of a bigger example as intercooler piping and the turbo needing to pressurize all the piping before it gets to the intake). For a boost controller this can mean a spike if it takes to long for the line to pressurize and then the boost controller to bleed off the air it needs. We are talking fractions of a second in such a small line. So if a line is really long or really large in diameter, it can make a difference and cause a spike that would not have occured if the line was shorter or smaller. With the diameter of most vacuum lines used for boost controllers, you aren't talking much. For example going from a 4mm hose to a 6mm hose would be the equivalent volume as say another extra 5cm in line of the 4mm hose (For example. If you want to do the calcs for the exact amount of a given length you can) So in other words unless you are using 1/2" vacuum line for your boost controller it aint going to change sweet f**k all. Keep your lines short is the main thing, dont have them looping half way around the engine bay and then into the car through the dash if you want your boost controller to work well.
  3. Like i said, i think he is confusing himself thinking twin wastegates on a normal exhaust manifold.
  4. Did a whole lot of headwork at the same time therefore can't compare. Only comparison we did was moving around the VCT change point and turning it on and off to see how it was affected. If its not a street car, and it's going to be in high rpm constantly, than the VCT not being enabled wouldn't make a difference.
  5. Won't affect it. The difference in hose size you are talking about is negligble.
  6. I agree with what Mad is saying about it having to be miles ahead of all other games in terms of gameplay and realism due to the fact they have taken so long. For example, Modern Warefare really raised the bar for what the PS3 is capable of, if GT5 came out before Modern Warfare or similar games it would have set the bench mark, now that those games have raised the bar, it's going to be even more difficult for GT5 to be more impressive. All i can say is it better be the best video game ever made in terms of realism to be taking this long.
  7. No he hasn't. His fuel lines have are the braided lines going to the hard lines. The rest are all just vacuum lines and silicone radiator hoses.
  8. I don't think you understand why you use twin gates on a twin scroll manifold, it has nothing to do with how big the turbo is and needing two gates due to it's size. I think you are thinking of twin gates on a normal exhaust manifold, then yes, it is a waste of time and money and it would mean you are trying to run a very tiny amount of boost through a massive turbo.
  9. If you get the elbow than yes it will. All RB20, RB25, RB25NEO turbos are the same T3 flange with a six bolt dump.
  10. Agreed. Can't you import it from France, Germany, England etc? Surely it would be cheaper than what we pay here no?
  11. Ok i think you are getting a bit confused as to what lines are what in the car. Oil - There are no lines that you can replace. There are no lines that run a flow of oil other than solid ones from factory to the turbo and return lines to the sump. The only lines to replace are oil vapour from the cam covers that allow the engine to breath, since this is just vapour, it doesn't matter what you use. From factory they are just rubber. You can replace them with coloured silicone or braid if you wish. Fuel - This can only be replaced by fuel approved lines. Therefore braided is really your only "upgrade" choice. You might be able to get coloured fuel approved rubber lines, but i wouldn't bother. Air - Replace with anything you want. Coolant - Anything that is made as a transmission fluid approved line will be fine. You can get silicone lines that will be fine for this. So to sum it up. Braided lines can be pretty much used on anything and coloured silicone lines will be fine for anything other than the fuel lines, and check that they will be fine to run coolant through, most are. Hope that helps you out a bit. Most of the lines you will be wanting to replace will be air/oil vapour lines so go nuts.
  12. Ah yep true. So March it aint lol.
  13. You'll find they are only running air, coolant and oil vapours. Thats is pretty much all you can use for them as like you said, fuel and power steering fluid will eat through it.
  14. Yep. VCT off on the poncams, loss in down low power, VCT on, better down low power. Keep the VCT if its a street car, Tomei Poncams are made for VCT so why are you asking about Poncams with VCT disabled? Making power at high revs on an engine is easy, making power at low revs is difficult.
  15. Either way it should be out early next year, even if it's March, that aint long away compared to the amount of years we've been waiting.
  16. OMG i hope to god this comes out soon, been waiting so long for this it's got to the point i think most people have given up hope!
  17. Start reading buddy. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Fo...ick-t66556.html
  18. I think that .82 housing is going to stop you from making 380rwkw, but we shall see. Back to your original problem. The plenum isn't the problem. You got any dyno graphs you could show us? When you say you tested the exhaust and intercooler, did you drop the exhaust at the dump/cat to test that?
  19. I'm confused, what are you actually worried about? It not flowing enough air to support that power? As Ash said, the stock one can flow that much power, so one twice the size obviously will. Quote from Plazmamans site. The plenum isn't going to be a problem anywhere near those power levels.
  20. Mmmm i like that wheel
  21. The plazmaman plenums are rated at something like 800HP-1000HP of air flow aren't they? So i doubt they would be a resctriction of any sort if that's what you are asking.
  22. Hahaha i havnt seen those JDM stickers, crazy kids these days.
