Has anyone here dealt with Heasmans in Sydenham? I am looking at changing my old suspension bushes and getting some new bushes to adjust my front castor and camber. I called them up for a quote and they supply and recommend Noltec bushes. Price for supply and fitting seems around the same price as Whiteline. I would probably go to whiteline if they weren't so far away.
  4. JL 12W-04 12" Subwoofer in box Price: $260 4 OHM 12" WOOFER 125 W/RMS 300 W/PEAK Sydney buyers preferred.
  5. Headunits from US the FM band works fine but the AM doesn't always.
  6. I have Mich Pilot Sports 265/40/17 all round. They are great for street. Had Potenza RE-01's before and they were good too but not as good I'd say.
  7. well it *should* give more flow. I don't think its the kind of thing you'd really concern yourself too much about. I think you should just remove it instead of puncturing it .... I did this because i might want to put it back one day for defects or whatever.
  8. This is what it most likely is. Quite a common problem in skylines. Not a big deal. Starter motor MAY be on its way out but most likely has dust in it and will still last.
  9. Yes it's normal. Don't know the purpose but the plastic bit blocking it can easily be removed and you have air coming from the front bar to the stockbox too.
  10. Mate you're probably going to be doing it all for me anyway haha
  11. If the tyres you bought were new then you need to actually run them in a little before they are actually effective. To do this you need to drive them around for maybe 30 mins or more (I'm not really sure how much) so that the tyres get heat all the way through them. Also all new tyres come with a protective coat (to stop deterioration in transport) and if you drive right out and do a launch it won't work too well because you've still got the protective coating. This goes away pretty much after a short drive too. Many of the "best performing street tyres" need to get a little bit sticky before you can launch and expect it to "slingshot".... I've got Michelin Pilot Sports on my car and I'm quite happy with them. I had Bridgestone Potenza RE01's before and I was happy with them too.
  12. From my limited knowledge of amps yep its 4 channels so bridging 2 lots of channels to power the speakers. Sound deadening is a definite. I'll post my results when it happens
  13. nav - thanks. I am going to sound deaden the front doors definitely, I've had a chat to FHRX about this too. My splits are the JBL P62 with split kit.... they've got a 45hz - 22khz range so I'm guessing I would miss out on a bit of bass but I'm not too worried as long as it still sounds relatively complete. I'm not worried about loudness of bass either. Hopefully these will do?
  14. I drive my Nismo twin plate GTR everyday pretty much and I have no problem with it whatsoever. This includes in peak hour traffic. I've driven my friends nismo twin plate in a 33 GTS-T and it felt easier than mine even.
  15. I guess it all depends on which dyno as well. Mine made 150kw @ all 4 on a dyno dynamics and this was just with an exhaust so I'd actually guess that it should make less than that stock. Look as I said it all depends on the driving style but there are LOTS of people who have gone through this exercise. Yes of course for a while the standard clutch will work fine for a while but if you do end up modifying anymore, or do a few launches or whatever I bet you that you'll be doing a clutch replacement a lot sooner than if you got a twin plate. Also if you're nito doing 1/4 miles or wahtever I would take a twin over a single as most twins engage much faster and as I previously mentioned the other benefit is the lightened flywheel.
  16. I've got a Nismo Twin Spec 1 on my car and I couldn't be happier with the choice. Compared to twin plate OS giken I found it easier to drive (it has a sprung centre) but I think either are fine just a matter of getting used to them. I don't believe that any single will be sufficient for a GTR which has over 200kw @ wheels... I had spoken to numerous members on this forum and friends as well as workshops on this matter and also on the GTROC forums and many people have gone through the exercise of gettnig a "heavy duty" single for their GTR only having to have it replaced 6 months down the track. After a few months the clutch loosens up as well and its not so on/off but as I said once used to it its fine. Good for street and I know a couple of 1/2 miles isn't giong to destroy it either. The clutch is noisy and rattles a fair bit but who cares.... its a GTR... its loud anyway. Another benefit of getting one of these kits is that you usually get a lightened flywheel with it.
  17. Yes the clutch has made a huge difference, its grips immediately... having a bit of wheelsping is okay I guess, I'm hoping it means that it won't be such a shock to the drivetrain. Will post my results here when I run
  18. Ahh okay fair enuf. I've done pretty much all the mods I can to the car without upgrading the turbos (pretty much same as you except I have a powerFC), and I would be very interested to see how it goes on the 1/4 mile now. I'm getting 210kw @ all wheels on a dyno dynamics on 1.2 bar.... When I first ran the car relatively stockish I would do 6500/7000rpm launches and it wouldn't bog down and would launch beautifully, but now with more power and a twin plate I get some wheels spin in launch and also shifting into 2nd. Do you get this as well? I'm hoping for a flat 12 too...
  19. I'm removing my sub soon and selling it (if anyone is interested its a JL12W-04) and will be running my amp just to the front splits to get a bit of bass from there. Before anyone says anything yes I know that this will not be an equal replacement for the sub but I don't really play my sub loud and its taking up my boot space. I'm after just a small bit of bass and sound clarity. I don't play my music that loud. Anyway my question is - I'm currently using a Fusion FP4-1000x: http://www.doranproaudio.com.au/products/d....asp?prodID=350 It's a relatively powerful amp and I've been told I'll need a fair bit of power to get any bass out of the fronts. Should I keep this amp or should I upgrade it to a different amp? I'm asking $380 for this one... so assuming I sell it around there what is another good option? Thanks in advance
  20. Hey Jagr33 - did u do a redline launch to get your flat 12?
  21. As title says I'm after GTR dump pipes similar to the HKS ones.
