hey Richie - what did Mona's Nismo twin plate feel like??

I had my cam gears and powerFC tuned yesterday for my car and when getting a baseline dyno run in high boost (1.2 bar) the clutch woulnd't hold the power and started slipping..... Although high boost doesn't create a lot more power than low boost I think its the sudden jump in torque (from look at the dyno printout) that causes the clutch to slip.... Anyway I'm looking at around 220-230kw @ the wheels and I need a clutch that will hold this. I know the best solution is to get an Exedy/OS Giken/Nismo twin plate but I don't want to fork out $3K for a clutch right now. Can anyone recommend me a good clutch that will hold on to this much power ? and costs... I'm looking at Exedy/Daikins and also the UAs ones at the moment...

I am after a part of the inlet/intercooler piping. Specifically the part number is 14463-24U01. It is a rubber peice of piping that connects the pipe that has "Twin Turbo" on it to the pipe that goes to the intercooler. Sorry this is the best description I have of it. I will take pictures.

I've driven an NA Supra.... it goes alright. I personally don't like the interior that much. I've also been driven in a 200rwkw RZ Supra... that was a very tuff car. I would say a stock 33 GTS-T would easily beat a Supra. My friends Supra and another friend's 32 GTS-T are about evenly matched.

550km's would have been highway driving right?... I dunno where Mildura is.... I can easily get more than 400km if its hwy driving but I'm talking about city and regular driving in Sydney. And yep R33 GTR.... Yes thats the way to drain the ECU. I don't think it takes all nite. Unplug, stomp on the brakes (its what ppl say.. I dunno why)... all internal lights won't work or anything else for that matter. Leave it for 10 mins and it should be reset. I THINK!

Oops sorry - I meant I AM almost certain. It shouldn't be mechanical because if it was restarting the car won't fix the problem. Resetting ECU won't help either because this issue has occured before and after ECu reset. Less boost MAY help but I doubt it will solve the problem. If it IS in fact an ECU control mechanism then I doubt it really is a "problem" that can be solved.

If you're referring to when it got tuned for your cam gears then no. You haven't listed any electronics so resetting won't have anything bad except you have to put your radio stations back in and adjust your time When I reset my ECU I seriously got more mileage. I had on average 300-350 and then after I got a constant 400 out of the tank. I know a lot of people say resetting the ECU is BS... and it could very well be that but it has worked for me. Also don't bother with the SAFC.... I had one... and before even tuning it I got a powerFC.

It has happened about once every one or two months. I noticed I ALWAYS have less than half a tank left as well when it happens. I know mine isn't due to heat either because its ALWAYS at nite and when I haven't been particularly rough with the car. This didn't happen to me when I was at the track either. I'm not almost certain its ECU controlled.

I have the same problem in my car occasioanlly..... I'll drive for 20 mins fine .. just normal driving then all of a sudden the boost doesn't go over 0.6 bar!! which is even lower than yours... I am thinking it is definitely a controlled thing by the ECU as stopping the car and restarting it fixes the problem. As far as I know I don't have any leaks anywhere. It is possible a safety mechanism from the ECU. to control what I do not know though.

Guys, where can i plumb things through the firewall on the R33? I only know of the hole in the right side near the accelerator pedal but surely there more...

Yeh same... I actually don't like the blue wheels .. I think the originals are better... and i think the original trim looks nicer. The engine is cool though...

Yeh I put my front pipe in today... it took about an hour but only cos he didn't have the gaskets so had to go and find some... Any exhaust shop can do it thats right. But I don't recommend Midas cos they use those shitty gaskets which leak quickly...

Does a hi-flow cat make that much difference? I just fitted Nismo Weldina front pipes today to the GTR and I haven't felt a HUGE difference...
