I jsut couldn't help but sell the Skyline and get a 180... just picked it up last night and what an animal it is. I think this forum is really turning into a 180SX forum since that's what afew of us are selling the Skylines for. I will update my avatar accordingly when I get time to do it. I think all the jap ones illuminate. I have not seen one that didn't. I have not seen the silver autometer ones but I had a black one awhile back and it looked crap. It has a light that glows at the back and looks so crap!

Where are you guys cruising this Friday? I might be able to join with my car at 90% completion that is unless the mechanic wants to take it back before next week...

It depends on what reading you are used to and how you would like the gauges to light up. I never liked the autometer ones coz they looked cheap compared to the jap ones. Also I like how the jap ones glow it is like your dash. I have grown up with PSI readings however but am getting used to BAR now.... So consider these facts and the price to make our choice.

I have this done on my car. The bonnet was cut by a panel beater, fixed up and painted. They just cut straight across at the front. I have seen some cars from japan come over with it cut. Done by a home job also. It was all jaggered and bit dangerous but worked fine. You can't see that it's been cut unless you open the bonnet. As for the grill it costs about $400 or so from Nissan. Just keep looking out for a secondhand one on these forums. They do come up every now and then

Is it true that the GTiR is not a full time 4WD? I heard that it is similair to the GTRs in that it is mostly FWD until there is a loss of traction then the rears kick in? Of course the GTR does the opposite...

I agree with all the people that would get a modded car. Not only do you save on all the goodies but you get the techinical expertise that has gone into it. A car built here and a car built in japan will never be the same. Generally the car that was built in japan will have complementary gear and will suit a purpose. Geoff seems to have good suppliers who checks the cars out well so I would go with a modded one also.
