  1. maybe, if it hasnt got coilovers in it, then it might have cut springs in it, but yeah i got that thunder noise when mine wasnt crashed haha, it was air escaping through the front passenger door coz the door wasnt sealing at the top along the door rubber, and any air entering through the air vents escaped through that door so if you take it out for a drive soon check that. I blame a crash previous to me owning it that caused that
  2. weeell theres a number of different things like looking along the chassis rail looking for welds, especially round the front end of the car incase its had a front cut welded on, also like mine check in the front wheel arches to check for any irregularities like if its twisted out shape, also check to see if the area under the battery or area under the where the air box goes is twisted or bent, and then you can pretty much do the same in the boot, just pull up the floor covering and check it out for signs of being pushed outa shape
  3. hi mate when you remove the 20e, with the alternator and starter wiring, undo the wiring at both of those rather than at the fuse/relax box as the starter motor and alternator can be put onto the 25, im not sure if theres any difference between the 20 and 25 starters and alt's but i know ive been running both of those 20 items on my 25 since my conversion, even the a/c compressor and power steer pumps are interchangeable and will bolt up so no need to remove it with the 20e and lose your a/c gas and fluid As far as wiring goes i should be able to have a look at how my mate did it and what colour wires are what as mine used to be 20e also so shouldnt be any different unless because mine is 25 series 2 motor i think the wires at the ecu might be different but ill if so ill double check Next you'll wana get ahold of a 25 top radiator hose, pretty sure i just used the 20 bottom hose but double check that Use the existing 20 engine mounts Mmm pretty sure theres a bit of fiddling and possibly modding that needs to be done to gearbox crossmember if your're to be fitting the 25 gearbox as well Anything else you need to know just post up Nathan
  4. oh you're kidding right? So i coulda bought one of these aaages ago haha Im interested to see what the master/valet key looks like
  5. yeah scored the wreck back for 600 from insurance, not sure bout parting it yet as ill be taking all my current mods off the wreck and they're going onto the new ceffy then the tail lights, bumpers, old grille and vent under the wipers are going to someone over here, then pretty sure the wreck is going to the guy i bought my new ceffy off. Not sure yet might be able to sell bits and pieces but i dont really want the wreck sittin round any longer than it has to
  6. haha mmm just scored one of the factory keys off ebay mmm
  7. and here it is in all its f@%ked up glory Pickin up new one this comin week as soon as im back from sydney, also picked up a genuine factory cefiro key that hasnt been cut yet so that'll make a good little addition to the new car. Got all my insurance sorted and was able to get a nice little pay out and buy my wreck back for a very reasonable price of $600 haha its worth a tad more than that in parts haha, so its now a matter of buy the car and put all my parts onto that one. Also getting uras kit with the car, just what i also wanted, im taking the crash as a sign to start again and do things right haha and not drive it into poles, ill start a seperate thread on new car once i pick it up
  8. i managed to use either 20 or 25 bracket, i think by redrilling it and using the other slot on it for the cable, either that or bend or customise your own

  10. the 89 four door i had was quite a straight clean car, all comes down to how well the previous owner looked after it, i had sum anal asian guy own mine before me, no rust no dents nothing wrong what so ever
  11. the fact you can plug a carman scan tool like the one we have at work, into it to access the ecu using a hand held computer

  16. mmm that is odd, cant think of anything else that would have come loose unless yeah the inside of your inlet mani is flaking away but ive never heard of that happening unless 25 heads have removeable valve seats and one of them came loose before being smashed about for a bit
  17. what ever happened to taping up the windows, i rekon it would be a damn side easier than taking them out, unless you're doing your car inside and out
  18. going through ebay today and i come across this http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NiSSan-SkYlinE-R32-...A1%7C240%3A1307 now it says he has an rb25 with forged arias internals BUT puts up a pic of an rb20, you can tell by the top radiator hose setup to the bottom left of the pic and also the colour of the nissan plaque on the coil pack cover, anyone wanting to buy this dont haha
  19. oooh yeah power fc is in and running fine with the z32 afm, no pump for now but knock levels seem safe enough for the driving i do, definitly noticed a struggle free full throttle pull to 90km/h in 2nd haha and the power on wheel spin that came in at bout 4200rpm, was just a power test, im not intentionally hoonin haha honest
  20. ive bought a power fc that was running a tune that will suit my car perfectly but im wondering now if having bought this, obviously having been disconnected from a power source, will it still have the tune, done by the previous owner, logged into it or does cutting the power do a hard reset, need to know as i wish to install this asap haha, i know that disconnecting battery will reset the learnt values of a factory ecu but not sure if power fc uses a hard back up style storage system for times like when a battery needs replacing, i mean it would make sense, otherwise you would need to see the tuner everytime your power is disconnected Cheers to anyone who can shed light on this Nathan
  21. haha nooo you've turned haha 26 the commy yeah i remember in the spotto section, someone had seen my car with your plates an thought you'd de-kit the car and let it get really filthy haha, but yeah im never gonna let these plates go as for update on car, kit still not fitted as old owner wants to but it back and im thinking of gettin a uras kit- any objections? haha turbo still not yet rebuilt but i did just pick up power fc and z32 afm so going to fit that plus 040 on fri night, the guy i bought the pfc off, his car had exact same mods as mine and the current tune gets him 258hp atw so hopefully i can just fit and drive and there wont be too much difference cant wait!
