  1. Sounds like the Cougar has been getting himself some lady tigers Reeeow -D
  2. Hi Les While I'm interested in this event, I have to run it by the executive committee of SAU:SA before we can commit to an approved display. We're keen on the Whyalla Show as well as the Street Machine show, and both are around that time, so it will come down to our resources. That said, the MB event is closer to Adelaide than any of the other AutoFest events, so I feel it would be a good one to have a presence at. The event at Mount Gambier sounds like even more fun, however its scheduled within a week of the Riverland Auto Expo, which I'm already committed to in 2010. Perhaps you can PM me any information that could help us? Accomodation details would be a great help, esp when it comes to secure parking for the vehicles. Thanks -D
  3. hah that has the good makings of a road safety initiative commercial "Hello, my name is David and I'm a non-smoker.." (Bill Hicks fans will get the Yul Brinner reference) -D
  4. pistons are really good to have ay -D
  5. dunno if you'll ever find those cheap, but you can get fiberglass ones from http://www.musecret.com.au/prod1183.htm for $260 -D
  6. oh? ploise explain - i sure hope that dude hasnt put cobwebs all over a 34 -D
  7. my pleasure. it wont be a problem if ur mate is a mechanic. sled and lukeenr34 did my last rotor and brake change, and tbh they didnt even need to disconnect the calipers so I didnt need to bleed the system (tho that could be a good idea) Now u got a skyline, make sure u check all the forum threads, there is a vast amount of info and many group buys happening that really help us all save a lot of coin -D
  8. Strippers. Reckon we can get the crazy horse on board? > (jk) -D
  9. ok just re-read the thread and it said that $1200 was for the front? rather overpriced imho brembo make great calipers but the rotors are way overpriced. you can get slotted RDA rotors, front and rear for around $380 delivered (yes, both pairs) and front and rear QFM pads from $160 to $360 depending on street or track or competition And it'll take around 1 hour to change the rotors and brakes and probably 1 hour to bleed the hydraulics and bed the brakes in for you.... thats around $180-$200 from most workshops... then you got probably just under $50 of brake fluid, motul is recommended Call road and track (number is in my sig) and see if you can get Gil to give you a quote on labour, I'm sure he can better that other workshop.. Speak to Rianto (rs73) in this thread (http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Rda-Rotors-and-Ebc-Pads-Gro-t282829.html&hl=rda+group+buy) in regards to the Rotors and this thread for the Brake pads ; (http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Qfm-High-Performance-Brak-t295467.html&hl=qfm+pads) Should be done for around the $900 mark with good pads and rotors (and those two are my own personal choice, do your own personal research before choosing brands as you can go more expensive or cheaper if you wish) -D
  10. lol dunno... but if it is, im sure we can out-display it -D
  11. Cool, anyone who is keen on entering please come along to the sausage sizzle on the 5th of Dec for a bit of a 'test' display Shane and I sat down on Sat arvo and had a chat about some ideas we have in regards to the display, wont bring them all up now but two things we are going to have is a) FM transmitter to have our own theme music and b) a live internet stream from the event to the SAU website (if I can get it running to my satisfaction). We'll also hopefully have some proper collapsable flag and banner poles too... -D
  12. may i ask what rubber? kumho's im guessing? have u ever tried the toyo t1r? if so, how does it compare? -D
  13. Well if it was e85, most definately 700 would be probably what he'd be after if he's just got a 'slightly modified' car... not enough stations for people to use e85 as a daily (unless they can somehow run a 98 octane petrol tune as well) I'll go with e85 eventually but not until it starts appearing at more stations- until they do, its impractical for a daily.. then and only then i'd be upgrading, but for anything up to 450hp/320kw odd on premum, a 575cc will do that and still have headroom -D
  14. thats true... either vector art or stupendously large PSD/Tiff's are the go - vectors are always superior tho -D
  15. ahh nice... its a 5 minute drive from my place -D
  16. I reckon they look better with a bit of blue in them, like the SAUSA caps have -maybe make the AU blue ?
  17. White one with white rims and blue on white numberplate? -D
  18. ahahahaha pete just got drilled -D
  19. thats why i avoid chinese made japanese or euro ftw -D
  20. lol thats random -D
  21. You could always just sit infront of some cisco routers or a NAS cluster I love server room aircon. Nothing quite like 24'c constant when you're in a collared shirt -D
  22. I'm actually wishing that I was at work today - evap aircon at home sucks arse. -D
  23. *nods* two sides to every argument. This lads father has posted on here before in response to sightings where people have mistakenly assumed to know the details of the arrangement between him and his son. While I agree with your POV about having P platers (or even anyone under 25), lets not even talk about who owns the car or what not. Its beneath us... Was he fanging it or going sideways? Thats the sorta stuff that should be posted, if indeed it even happened - I'm sure if jr was in his dads car and was abusing the privelige, his dad would wanna know. That said, I just spotted 'madr30' on Mullers road. Very very nice DR30 -D
  24. Thats something that would shit me too Theyre >sitting< in their offices and doing non manual labour - they got their aircons tho, probably reverse cycle, chewing up 3kw of power per hour Factory workers, busting their arses in hot weather and they get given a spray bottle? Nigga please Time for a riot (or to get the union to do their damn job for a change) -D
  25. Yeah, how some of these employers get away with making staff do labour in 40+ weather is beyond me. Sounds like Rhys job is comparable with electricians and cablers, getting stuck in roof cavities in 40+ weather trying to fix someones aircon is pretty damn nasty. I feel for mechanics and other folks who have to work in such conditions... for the most part I'm on the road in my car with the aircon on full, or I'm in an airconditioned office or server room. Sometimes I have to go into the factories and when I do, I feel the heat more than the other blokes there (cause theyre acclimatized) TBH if I was a labour based employer, I'd be giving the workers the option of working at night time instead (unless of course the factory is already 24 hours/split shift rotation) - even then, it doesnt cost a lot to get a monster of an evaporative cooler in a factory and run it, and those evaps work quite well when the building isnt completely sealed... -D
