i was thinking its probably not ur muffler dude, more likely ur cat, happens when they get old, turn into a smaller piece and rattle around in the housing there just slightly to big to fit into the exhaust, seen 3 or 4 cars that have done it in the last year. My solution when mine did it was put the gas on it and it blew the remaining rattly part of the cat right out of there like a shotgun!!

Well its time to sell some stuff i need the cash, bike is in awesome condition, i hardly ride it due to uni and what not, ive probably ridden it 5 times since i bought it a year ago. Excellent condition. Bog Stock. 5500 ono

dude you would have to investigate and chat to an engineer to find out wether it is a structural part of the, most skylines as the are, are very flexible and i dont know if this would be a wise idea although would be very cool...
