NA skyline for the win, That said i had mine before i got my licence.... And i will be the first to say that if it was any quicker, i may well have not still had it today...
-
awesome to here Noel, cant wait to see some results.
-
RX8 doesnt really compare to be honest... mid 15 second car versus mid to low 14 second car that is lighter handles better and ISNT a rotary
-
I have two, one is missing the exhaust wheel but they are rebuildable, came off my 95 33, 200 bucks

Make Your Own Extractors And Exhaust

Google is ur friend, search header design there is a rediculous amount of material available. -
My 2 Cents: I would never buy one over the skyline, but you wont find many keep up with one through the twisties. Ive driven both, and with well sorted suspension u cannot beat the 4wd with similarly experienced drivers.

Hehe yeah.. I ran a 14.32@98MPH with all the mods but with the stock airbox... Pretty sure its quicker with the stock airbox over the pod... But for the time being the pod stays as it gets rid of some of the horrid twin cam resonance it has, putting some extra resonators and expansion chambers in the exhaust over the weekend to hopefully fix that. Its plenty quick enough, but it would just be damn cool a V8, especially the VK56. ill have to get some 560GT badges made up just to confuse people if and or when i do it
-
Yeah thanks Noel, sorry they didnt fit. Good luck in finding some, maybe some GTR front guards?
-
Looking awesome! Shoot me a PM when ur running in QLD would love to come see it, ill try chase u down in the 35
-
well the 35 is booked in at camerons to get the entire left side and front bar resprayed after some lovely FU(K keyed it..... booked in monday week... hope there as good as everyone says...
-
Heres a couple more, looking at some dress 20's for it but next mod will be a kazz 2 way. Believe it or not were considering a VK56 swap for it... same reason we did blacky originally, the current engine/gearbox combo is worth alot of money here in aus, id import the titan engine and another vq 6 speed manual and adapt it... just researching atm... but its looking good

I also have a copy of the Light Vehicle Modification Act, Engineers will NOT APPROVE a cage with and allow the rear seats to remain usefull as it also states that the you cannot make getting in or out of the vehicle any more diffucult (not in those exact words). It is because of this alot of engineers will not even approve fixed back seats, do not think u can read the rules and then magically have the knowledge of the in's and out's of the industry and know how it runs. Again everything is open to interpretation and what engineers are prepared to put their jobs on the line for.

Just too add, there is plenty of info floating around the net on header design, do a bit of research to find out what ur after, eg. length of primary and secondary pipes and collector arrangments. -

Hey mate, ive made a few different sets of headers... if ur handy with a welder and fabrication its not a huge task. But to be honest i only do it when off the shelf stuff isnt a available or a is overly expensive, by the time u buy bends and pipe it ususally doesnt work out much cheaper even getting them at trade prices. -
Haha, yeah i got pretty burnt aswell, trust me to get burnt on the first sunny day after 2 weeks of rain. But in all seriousness guys there is no one to blame. It was a safety issue due to wheather... As i said earlier, if its a big weekend of drag racing racing, it will be raining... thats how it goes..

Cheers Greg, After a bit of research i learned it was a full top secret kit minus the front quarters with the vents. Its now got Tein Super Street Coilovers, Carbon Intake Pipe, Jim Wolf Popcharger and heatshield, Stainless Extractors and Johnny Spec Twin 2 1/2" mandrel bent zorst with highflow cats and x pipe. Unfortunately Some lovely fu(k keyed it last week so its booked into the body shop to get the entire passenger side and front bar resprayed... Was so close to having a enough money to order some 20's for it and now this... iggnorant pricks... ah well... ill post some more pics tonight

you need one for the cage too...

Time for NA Power, the wait is over.....
NA_R33 replied to NA_R33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ROFL!! haha cheers mate. Well we tryed fevourishly to weld and devcon the block up just so i could get a run at jambo, but it was cracked in a few more places then we would see without pulling it out of the car and stripping it, luckily due to rain we wouldnt have been able to get a run anyway. the spare block is being cleaned and crack tested this week, then will be sent to have the deck surfaced and o'ring grooves machined. Then it will be simply a case of changing everything over... -
Seems to have fined up beautifully this evening... typically though my devcon seemed to hold well enough although evidentally the block is cracked in a few more places then we origanally though.. so blacky is out for the weekend but will hopefully be ready for nationals next month... Ill be out there though as support for friends and general jamboree shenanagins, rain permitting..
-
Well after some deliberation about this split block, well not much really, its been welded and filled full of devcon so as long as it doesnt leak oil (will know tomorrow arvo) blacky WILL be running! Im excited!! Heat Treatments new car will be there along with some other new ones. See you there.

Yep he's got it perfectly right, its a resonator, it helps reduce intake noise and is specifically designed, "volume" and "shape" to the pulses your engine makes as valves open and close to help smooth the flow of air into the engine and increase power. Removing your standard intake pipe will reduce your power through the bottom and midrange, effectively reducing the area under your power curve and therefore making your car considerably slower when driving normally or at a track. Almost every late model NA "Japanese" tuned car keeps the standard intake system and only replaces the standard panel filter. **There is a reason nissan or any other make spend so much time and money in R n D, the facilities, equipment, and time available to them far outways any aftermarket parts manufacturer. Standard stuff it generally pretty good, keep it in mind when u go searching for improvements.
