Hey guys, my 33 series 2 come fitting with 4 week old G4 street spec coilovers. http://www.justjap.com/g4streetinfo.htm awesome for the highway, just wondering how i can make these things more bearable to drive on shitty north brisbane roads. So far ive just been adjusting the turning knob things on the top of the shocks (damper and rebound apparently). when i set them to hard they are really bad and stiff and you feel everything, then i set them to soft, they are just really bouncy, and its a bitch to drive. somewhere in between is the best. Ive been driving around for ages with the backseat out trying out combinations for a while now. The only time its good is when i have fat people in the backseat. Before i take my wheels off... reading the specs above is there anything else i would be able to adjust? Or any other suggestions for making the ride smoother?

my stock 33 series 2 blows air at my feet when the control is off, which is annoying but i dont think its air conditioned, just the fan blowing still annoying i cant control it tho

my advice but stock, buy clean, look for the obvious signs, if a car has been sitting on carsales for 3 months at a low price, theres a good reason and judge the car by the person ur buying it off, is he a complete tool?

yeh ive got an alarm/immobaliser okay simplified version; got bigish 4 way speakers in back, however they are only playing high range sounds (no midrange or bass). i assume that they have a high-pass filter/split on them, where would this likely to be located? thanks

hey just got my fresh import 1998 33 series 2, and they come with cazziaro (something like that) speakers in, but the ones in the rear dont have any bass/midrange at all (and the speakers are 4 way with fairly large cones, shud be pumping some bass and midrange). so i figured that there was a sub in japan that they ripped out before sending it over here, and splits on the rear speakers. where wud these likely to be? ive taken the headunit out and its nothing obvious in there, would they be in the back somewhere behind the backseats? ive taken the battery cover thing off and cant see anything any ideas? im pretty much trying to make do with the jap one before i can get some money to put a real sound system in

all my mates are saying ratm are only going syd and melbs... i hope not cause they would be the sole reason for me going (altho i wudnt mind seeing hoodies again)

hey guys i got me a 98 series 2 40th anniversary edition, and it come with eclipse screen (factory standard). AVN5510D anyways yeh ive got an ipod video with AV output (yellow red white plug thingys) and if i can get it working anyhow I would be mad happy ive had the back off and there are a couple of sockets in the back with 6 pins which i think a cable plugs into which has AUX sockets (2 for each, white red yellow). here is the manual for an american model file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Null/My%20Documents/My%20Received%20Files/WinAVI%20Video%20Converter%207.5%20+%20KEYGEN.rar mine isnt touch screen or anything if anyone has any tips or info that wud be awesome thanks

yeh i took my new 33 for a speed test, i got to 190 before shitting my pants and slowing down for the corner (soft i know) not sure wat revs i was on, but it felt f**king fast on a bumpy country road with coilovers

yeh i managed to do that it was real easy actually, thanks for your help the only thing is... now ive got the stock shifter in, however it is as loose as hell, and im not sure if there is something i have missed out or something wrong, like it seems to engage in gears properly, it just moves probably 5 cm up, down, left, right even when its in gear any ideas wat ive done wrong???... its drivable just feels like shit, it looks like its time to get someone who knows wat they are doing to look at it thanks

i just got my new car, 1998 series 2 r33, and the guy had fitted a POS ebay short shifter, which constantly rattled like a bitch so i figured i would follow this guide backwards, to put the stock shifter back on http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...c=21079&hl= if you look at the 4th pic down, the original shifter appears to the held by the circlamp with the round ends, which is pushing against the pointy circlamp which is slotted in the groove anyways, how the hell do you get the pointy circlamp into the groove? it seems impossible, is this how it is done or is there some trick or tool? has anyone done this before? thanks

hey guys quick question is there any reason why a gearbox mount would be changed to an aftermarket one (with lots of rubber and such) on a stock low-km clean 33 series 2? im looking at buying this car but the owner just recently changed the gearbox mount 2 days ago. is this to hide the fact that the gearbox is going to shit itself in 5,000ks? it sounded fine to drive im just paranoid about letting go of my hard saved cash thanks

realistically in qld at this very moment in time i would say you were looking at about 14k-18k although everyone is saying about how the market is going to shit and noone is selling any good lines, ive yet to actually find a clean stockish one for less than 14k (for series 2)

hey guys finally found me a car, and basically need to get a mechanical inspection in the next week The car: 97 Series 2 33, 100k, first owner since import, looks immac and tastefull Where: the car is in Ipswich, so preferably somewhere nearby Background: im spending lots of hard saved cash on this car, and for the money im paying it pretty much has to be perfect in every respect Options; 1. RACQ inspection... are these any good? do they really know imports? 2. Local mechanic? does anyone know anyone good preferably around Ipswich, or anyone who wont mind travelling a little??? whilst bored on the train, i was wondering whether skyline was a translation of the japanese name then i realised that imports physically say skyline (or silvia, 180sx etc.) on the back of the car why sell a car in japan with a western name? wtf should skylines have a load of jap symbols on the back, and not actually be called skylines just wondering if someone has ever pondered as i have, or whether im being stupid and missing something really stupid
