  1. for my first year - 18years old, clean record, stock 1998 ltd edition R33 manual, with wheels exhaust stereo suspension = $2800 a year second year - 19years old (), still clean record , same as above = $1800 for the year :) insurance is totally worth it, i got rearended with only 3rd party in my ford laser by an uninsured driver and small claims court is not fun and i never got most of the money, not risking my line and in regards to mods, I am having this all done in the next few days, all installed professionally and quality parts dump pipe $350 HDi frontmount (good one) $1100 fuel pump $320 fuel regulator + gauge $300 HDi electronic dual stage boost controller + gauge $420 1 hour on dyno = $160 total = $2650 yes i know i could have done it a lot cheaper and if the car was a pig i would have done all the work myself but its a near perfect engine in a near perfect car I would rather it all done properly first time (and save myself a few weekends) just as a guide for anyone thinking of getting stuff done
  2. good day all, just trying to understand what is happening here before; catback exhaust + pod filter, had grounded the wire as instructed (even put a little switch inside the cabin to choose between dual stage or just high all the time), worked great after; had dump pipe and front mount installed with it all plugged in as before, it was just functioning as a dual stage boost controller (with roughly the same boost values as before), ie it does not go on high boost all the time solenoid completely unplugged (should be in low boost all the time as no power or signal), it still somehow functions as a duel stage, with it gaining an extra few psi at 4500rpm. pulled out the multimeter, and with the car idleing, the power wire was 12v but the signal was 0v (it should be high (12v) when < 4500rpm and low (0v) when >4500rpm) does anyone have any idea what could have happened??? could it be something like my ECU is running in some funny mode because of the change? I have tried resetting my ECU (disconnecting battery). And how is it running in dual stage with the solenoid disconnected??? (I tried disconnecting the solenoid before the dump pipe and front mount and it just ran in low boost all the time (as it should)) thanks

  8. Need 2 new rear tyres to keep those friendly law enforcement officers at bay; Nankang NS2's 255/40/17 - $170 each fitted and balanced - Brisbane mobile tyres Maxxis 255/40/17 MA-Z4S - $239 each fitted and balanced - Bob Jane Tmart I have the maxxis ones at the moment, never heard of nankangs. Question being... are nankangs any good or is it worth paying extra for the maxxis? Or is there somewhere else I should be out? thanks <h3 class="r"> </h3>

  13. your girlfiend complains about sore boobs from bouncing around due to stupidly hard coilovers in a carpark u park about 30cms away from a brick wall on the drivers side, then climb over and get out the passenger side (to reduce to risk of dents/scratches
  14. still for sale/swap asking price $700 still looking for softer suspension if theres any going 2nd hand
  15. If your desperate on the plates i will give u $600 for them, i got about that left for spending
  16. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...ils-t85467.html yeh that looks good ill probs do that
  17. I got new G4 coilovers, have done 8000km, but wayyyy to hard and bumpy for the shit roads in my area, my gf gets sore boobs if shes in it for too long, and its just not fun to drive so just wondering wat the best thing to do is, for a lowered and slightly stiffer ride, I got a series 2 33 1. swap for stock shocks and get lowered springs - free as I could probably find someone wanting to swap 2. change the springs in my G4s $300-400 -would this make it much softer, because u still wouldnt get as much movement as stock suspension I really dont know much about it, just wondering what peoples reccomendations are
  18. how much? i just took mine off from a 98 s2 33 im in brissy thanks
  19. pm sent bump for anyone wanting to buy/swap for g4 coilovers
  20. recently got me a new 33 series 2 has street spec G4 coilovers on it, installed july/august (I have receipt), have done 8000km, havent seen track drift etc just been used as a daily http://www.justjap.com/parts_nsuspension.htm basically coilovers are too hard, i drive to st lucia for uni and the roads are shit around there, its awesome for highway driving and new roads, but the roads round my area and just too shitty eventually im looking to stock suspension with lowered + slightly harder springs, good condition looking for swap (preferably with already lowered springs) or just plain stock suspension and ill do the rest, or a straight sale (asking $750) or OFFERS, wat u got?
  21. the shifted seems fine, when it does the big clunk thing i cant feel anything thru the shifter
  22. when i drop the clutch a little at low revs i get a kinda thumping sound around the gearbox area (especially in garage when its quiet and stuff echos) when i drop the clutch a LOT at low revs a get a huge thumping sound from the gearbox which makes the car shudder. sounds like the gearbox is moving around. this is all fine, cause i dont normally drop the clutch, but during slightly aggressive driving its noticable also when the clutch is out and in neutral i get a faint sound (like throwout or input shaft bearing problem, may be unrelated). also the car is new to me, and i know that the previous owner replaced the gearbox mount with an aftermarket one. its a stock 1998 33 gtst 40th anniversary i drive like a grandma everywhere and dont do too many fulleh sick skids uleh so its not cause by abuse on my part any ideas i just wanna get it sorted so i dont feel guilty giving it a squirt thanks
  23. okay loganholme ill read stuff properly next time, ill give u a call laters
