  1. Thanks for the offer but its all done. I only have an arc welder but its fine for little jobs like this. The weld appears to be plenty strong. The old man has a mig but be buggered if i can get the travel speed + wire speed + amps + gas all sorted out to get a decent weld. Now to find the end bit that screws on and attaches to the wastegate flapper arm. Hopefully I didn't leave it in the engine bay last night when it was dark while I was cursing. :S
  2. Well... If I had plenty of $$ and a nice big piece of land I'd consider it. Only real issue would be liability. Not sure if every one signing waivers would cut it.
  3. I could try all though the heat may? damage the actuator, nothing to loose though I guess lol. I need to replace the actuator any way as when tuned the most boost it would hold was 17psi and now with similar ambient temps its down to 16.6psi. Wound a heap of preload on to it ~10-15mm but made no difference. The gate is being blown open which is partially due to the dump design but its better than having boost creep as its easily fixed.
  4. lol.. Nothing to do with being stupid my friend. I can run ULP and the car doesn't feel any different apart from it pings its arse off. Your experience is definitely a once off. I have days where i think the car feels punchier or ramps on to boost harder than others. Its just the nature of the beast.
  5. Fiddling I broke my actuators rod last night. Ahh well no dyno day for me. N/A FTL. Actually quite amazing how much the turbo helps torque off idle.
  6. Inlet yes. They are the same.
  7. My GTR injectors were basically maxed out at 260rwkw as were a mates. BUT that was with them running an RB20DET fuel pressure reg so likely the GTR reg runs a little more base pressure. Mine flowed 480cc at 40psi. Adj. fuel pressure reg and a 1 point afr drop when idling has now seen them touch 300rwkw.
  8. Makes me dizzy.. U need to put a little delay between frames in to the animated gif.
  9. A turbo exhaust place. Head down to your local import workshop and they can sort it for you. --- On a side note... I disconnected/BROKE!! the actuator and it makes next to no boost until 5000rpm where by 6000rpm its making around 6psi.
  10. Mid range.. punch 19psi in to it. Its a strange sensation powering on in third with fairly low rpm yet it having so so much pull. I think I've said this before but the cams did wonders for over all power seat of the pants, low load gears come on stronger and with less throttle required. SimonR32 who did cams with his GT3071r .7 said the turbo was fairly laggy before the cams after it was an animal. Having been for a spin in it the setup was quite impressive. Near perfect. It really didn't feel laggy, grab the next gear and it had power. I've just come back from fiddling with mine. When it was tuned it was making 19psi through the mid and tailing off to 17psi with similar ambient temps to now. EBC on ~3mm preload on the actuator. Before fiddling over 5000rpm it quickly drops to 16.6psi. EBC off and boost is mega lazy. 11psi at 3000rpm 15.5psi at 4500rpm which it holds to 7000rpm. EBC on and it makes 19psi at pretty much flat 3100rpm rolling on the throttle in third from 60km/h. EBC off.. I wound in close to 15mm preload. I figured it will be hot so go extreme the first time. Interestingly mid range peaks at 20.9psi (it was tuned to 22psi) and still the bastard tails off but now to 16.8psi. The same as when it was running ~3mm preload but EBC turned on. I noticed also the actuator feels quite soft/soggy to lift off its seat which it didn't when it was new. Now I can easily do it with one hand. I remember my old std RB20DET actuator was harder to lift off its seat. Definitely time for a new actuator.
  11. I think Garrett are pretty much on the mark with their ratings on 98RON PUMP fuel. The GT3071r they claim 480hp ~358rwkw minus the usual 70rwkw drive train loss and you have 288rwkw. Which is pretty much where the GT3071r's max out with a set of cams or ~260-270rwkw with standard cams. The GT3076r they claim 525hp ~391rwkw minus the usual 75rwkw drive train loss and you have 321rwkw. When I was running std cams it was a struggle over 280rwkw.
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rv67yLI_jVs T51r RB30 GTR. Doesn't seem to lag or go all doughy too badly even on the 3ltr. Just a pitty they limited rev's to 7k in that vid.
  13. Seriously Glenn try V-Power your self. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. The ONLY problem I've had with fuel in the 8years I've owned the R32 is 'ONCE' and that was with an apparent dirty batch of Mobil 8000. If fuel made some ones car feel sluggish chances are they picked up the wrong pump thinking it was V-power and the knock sensors pulled a heap of ign. out or somehow the bloke re filling the tanks has pumped a little ULP in to the wrong tank. If V-Power was known to perform worse tuners etc sure as hell would know about it. All fuels are pretty much the same. I personally use V-Power is it works well and is slightly cheaper. It doesn't feel like it goes better nor can I push in more ignition on ANY other fuel apart from E10.
  14. Lithium went from the .6 rear to the .82 IW and loves it. Might drop him a PM so he can post his comparison.
  15. 3.4ltr T04Z or GT40 with 3ltr GT30 type response/spool. Yes thanks.
  16. Marion Road Saff.. E85 Right around the corner from my self. Personally I wouldn't bother with E85 unless your pushing the car to its limits. i.e my setup with a GT30 .82 IW on a built RB30det. 340-350rwkw would be nice with E85. Its not a daily so who cares about fuel consumption. Even though as Guilt-Toy (E85 thread in F.I section) has found with some work on the tuning side you can get some really good economy out of E85. LPG has always had issues with varying RON etc.. I would never use it in a performance app.
  17. Awesome.. Allways been curious what cam specs they ran. QLD Performance Springs http://www.performancesprings.com.au/
  18. Sorry bud I edited my post above. $113 from memory.
  19. I have a modded airbox. 100mm CAI cut in to the bottom of the airbox that leads in to the front inner bumper. This isn't possible to do with the R33's. If you can setup a good CAI in to the stock R33 airbox I'd say its easily good for 300rwkw and better for hot weather. I've tried a pod in the past and found a very noticeable difference in warm weather. The car noticeable feels gutless with slower spool. All though the 3ltr masks it I don't notice a great deal of power difference in hot weather. Autobarn. $113 from memory. Was an impulse purchase. Went in for the usual ryco spotted these and thought bugger it. Its about time I spent some $$ on an air filter lol.
  20. I ran a ryco panel filter and made upwards of 300rwkw. Recently dropped in a BMC panel filter; induction is a tad louder.
  21. Back at Uni I worked at a Mobil station for some time. Never any issues with water in the tanks. Either way.. Run what you wish. There's nothing wrong with E10 or E85 we get here in Australia. Yes fuel lines have to be replaced; hell you'd be stupid not to in an old car anyway.
  22. Ryan.. The GT3076r with the .63 IW rears still boost creep. I would expect the GT3082 to be worse as the comp wheel is larger and pushes more air per revolution; in turn more exhaust gas has to bypass the turbine wheel. But why the GT3082? You really can't make use of the comp wheel unless your start playing with better fuel and at the very least a .82 preferably 1.06 turbine housing. The .82 rears appear not to experience creep issues. In my case and also another mate (Lithium here on SAU) who I helped out to get his .82 IW together, both of ours are fine - no creep. The .82 IW GT3076 on the rb25 comes on strong around 4000rpm. Dangerman4 who runs an the GT35r .82 IW has zero issues with boost creep but in the past similar boost drop issue I am having. He remedied his boost issues by fitting a stiffer actuator. His 1bar actuator was fairly useless, then jumped to 18psi which allowed up to 24psi now soon he's fitting 24-25psi actuator for god know what boost levels lol.
  23. Cars these days pop the flap and it states E10 suitable. So times have changed fuel is better quality and mixed properly etc. The local servo has E85 (ethanol). 105-110ron. Its good stuff and cheap too.
  24. Mine feels the same on all the normal fuels but it was tuned on v-power. Push E10 in to it and the pedal feels just that little bit harder as it feels as though it spools slightly earlier. Probably due to the leaner mixture. V-power is also 10c more than ULP compared to BP's 13c.
  25. kralster, Any issues with vista file sharing I've had I simply setup the permissions. On the client I then enter the password and it works. Make sure its not a firewall issue. With regards to the media pc. Make sure its obtaining an IP address, best of statically setting the IP on the media pc or at the very least reserving an IP based on the media pc's mac address within the router. DHCP has a thing of breaking. :S
