  1. Hi all, I am thinking of getting a pair of Takata Dome 4 Point full racing harnesses for my R34 GT-R but am interested to know if the back seats have to be removed to fit them up? Dont racing harnesses bolt up to where the rear seat belts normally bolt up to? I have no idea.. so any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers,
  2. Ok cheers mate. Do you know how much they charge for replacing a clutch on a GT-R? (Clutch supplied)
  3. I tried giving them a call at different times but not picking up...
  4. I went past Torjan and they were closed! Must be on holidays eh? Does anyone know when they are getting back?
  5. Yeah that doesnt include the clutch... just labour. The clutch I intend on using is the Nismo Supercopper Mix twin plate.
  6. Ahh ok, yeah mine is 70K+ kms old.. lol! So nismo fuel pump it is!
  7. Yeah I was actually thinking of getting the Power FC boost controller... is that what you are using now? How do these ones stack up to say the HKS EVC or Blitz EBC's? So the stock R34 GT-R fuel pump should be good to supply sufficient fuel flow even around 350kw at all fours?
  8. I gave autotech a call and I got quoted $780 + gearbox oil. Is this what everyone else is paying around?
  9. If you dont mind me asking GTRKat, how much did they charge you for replacing your clutch?
  10. Hi all, Where is a good workshop in canberra that I can get my clutch replaced? Two that comes to mind are Fast-&-Furious and Trojan... anymore? Cheers,
  11. Thanks heaps Potenza! So it looks like Dickson will be the place to go for me...
  12. Hi all, Do any of you guys/gals know where I can get some Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R tyres? I contacted all my local Bridgestone dealers and they said that they could not get them, so I am curious to know if any other performance shops can get them? Cheers,
  13. I take it you have had experience with both?? If I am to go with the Nismo twins, do I have to replace anything else? ie - Release fork, pin, thrust bearing etc? Also, do the rebuild kits for the Nismo clutches come at a good price?
  14. So I got a bit of a decision to make... HKS GD Max twin plate or the Nismo Super Copper Mix. I have heard good things for both clutches. But it seems the Hks twins are cheaper? So on an R34 GT-R, which one would you guys recomend? Are the Nismo twins easier to drive than the Hks?
  15. Is your clutch the GD Max or GD Pro? Also, if you dont mind me asking how much did it set you back?
  16. Thanks for your reply. I do have some follow up questions: 1) How long have you had the NISMO twin plate clutch for? I ask this because I am wondering approx. how long this particular clutch lasts? (Obviously depending on driving..) 2) Did you have to replace anything else when you swapped over to the nismo clutch? ie - thrust bearings, pivot forks etc??? 3) So your nismo clutch does allow a little bit of slip? ie - not like your either on or off? 4) Is the pedal feeling a lot heavier than stock? 5) If you were to sum it up, would you say that the nismo twin plate is easy to drive? 6) Finally would you recomend getting the NISMO big operating slave cylinder?
  17. So how would you compare the ORC twin plate to your stock clutch pedal feeling? Is it just a slightly harder pedal/bites a little bit more??? Or no difference at all? Also, how does the ORC twin stack up against the Nismo Super Copper mix one? Better in terms of driveabillity/price???
  18. Hi all, My car is an R34 GT-R (it is my daily driver) and I am at the stage where I need a new clutch. The mods I have thus far is a blitz nur cat back exhaust system, HKS metal cat, and Apexi air pods. I plan to upgrade turbos, cams, ecu, boost controller and necassery support systems etc later this year. Hoping for around the 300-350 kw @ the wheels mark. Anyway, I was hoping you guys could help me and give me some advice on which clutch I should go for at this stage. I was thinking of getting a brand new standard R34 GT-R clutch from Nissan but am wondering if it will handle the power that I hope to achieve after the other mods I intend on doing. Also, if the cost of a standard R34 GT-R clutch is similar in price to an aftermarket one, then I thought I might as well upgrade. Although I also dont want to get a clutch thats too hard to drive. One aftermarket clutch that comes to mind is the ORC single plate clutch 409 series. Supports up to 400PS? What are your thoughts on this particular clutch? ie - hard to drive, bites hard etc? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Cheers,
  19. But the discs would have to be machined everytime I change the pads right?
  20. So whats a good pad that doesnt produce brake squeal in cold/street driving but still produces good braking power on the street/racetrack?
  21. So this is normal? What about the Nismo S-Tune pads? They the same?
  22. Hi all, On the weekend I got my front pads and front rotors replaced on my R34 GT-R with Project Mu HC+ pads & Project Mu SCR Rotors. The rears were going to get replaced as well (with HC+ pads also) but the disc machiner was broken so my mechanic told me that he will replace the rear pads and machine the rear discs (and bleed the brake system) once the machine is fixed. So now I have Project Mu discs & pads up front, and stock pads/discs at the rear. Anway, whenever I use the brakes as I normally do, the braking noise is loud. It also seemed that the harder I went on the brakes the louder the noise would get. Now I know that the pads would produce some noise, but I didnt think it would be this loud! Now obviously you guys cannot hear how loud they are for me but I am interested to know if anyone else out there has used these pads and have had the same 'loud' experience? Maybe there is something wrong with my particular brakes? Its like someone is blowing on a really loud flute everytime I step on the brakes!!! My car is now a 'real' head turner... but for the wrong reasons!!! Can someone please shed some light on these particular pads... On a side note, how are the NISMO S-Tune brake pads? Do they also produce a really loud noise when the brakes are applied? Or are they similar to stock in that respect, but still produce good braking power? Any info/opinions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Cheers,
  23. Cheers mate! Yeah Im sure people have fabricated custom heat shields/box for these pod filters but I have yet to find a good way to do that myself! And yes the BOV's and induction sounds waaay louder! Slight flutter at times and sounds like im running over 20 pound! LOL! still running stock boost btw.
  24. Cheers Johnny! Yeah i just cant get enough of the sound! lol! Install took me about 1.5 hours! I was like constantly double checking to see if I was doing everything correct and making sure that I had tightened all the bults etc... LOL!!! But yeah I forgot to clean the afm's!!! shoulda done it while I had everything out! hehehe...
