Thanks a bunch for all the replies guys! I installed the air pods yesterday and I have to say that I love the way my car sounds now!!! I mean, it sounds like im running high boost!!! Induction noise n all. Feels like it pulls slighty harder now... (errr duh! lol!) I am really pleased with these filters!!! Although now, I have to find a way to shield it from the engine! Hi all, I am about to install an Apexi air pod kit on my r34 gtr, and I noticed that the 2 blue gaskets that fit in between the air pod itself and the silver metal part has a slightly different facing on one side of it. One side is completely blue and the other side is blue with a bit of a white through it. This is on both gaskets. So I am curious to know which side faces the filter??? Or does it even matter??? Hi all, How many KW's can a standard R34 GT-R Intercooler handle before it reaches its peak efficiency??? Lets use the following as an example: R34 GT-R with the following mods, 1) HKS GT-SS Turbos. 2) HKS Dumps, Front pipe & Metal Cat. 3) Apexi Power FC & Hand Controller. 4) Tomei Pon Cams + Cam Gears (Type A, In & Ex both 260 degrees & 9.15mm lift). 5) NISMO 600cc Injectors. 6) NISMO Fuel Pump. 7) Trust Profec B Spec II Boost controller. (Running 1.2 bar max). All of the above is good to 'reliably' produce around 300-330kw's at the wheels yeah??? If so, would it be necessary to upgrade the standard intercooler? Would the HKS Type R intercooler be a good choice for this application? Or would that be overkill? Cheers,

Hi all, I am considering getting a pair of Garret GT2860R - 707160 -7 turbos for my R34 GT-R but am wondering if they come as a complete kit. Ie - actuators, gaskets, hoses, clamps etc, & everything needed for complete installation??? I sent an email to 'GCG' enquring about this and they said "these particular turbochargers come complete including gaskets". However, out of curiousity I also emailed 'MTQ Engine Systems' for their opinion and they said "They are direct bolt on's the oil drain fitting is the only thingto change, i can supply new oil drain kits for $28.00 + gstEverything else should bolt on directly." What do you guys think about this? Cheers,

What about the ignition side of things at this stage? Should there be any upgrades to the stock spark plugs/coil packs etc?

Oh I forgot to mention Apexi Pods... although summer time would be a bit of a pain!

R34 GT-R's still run ceramic wheels. Its only the R34 N1 that have steel ones so unfortunately i dun have them.

Okay I see. So aftermarket turbos will be a necessity!!! But having said that, then the support systems will have to match... so what about the following then: HKS GT-SS Turbos NISMO 600cc Injectors NISMO fuel pump Apexi Power FC & Hand Controller Trust Oil Cooler Then Trust Profec B Spec II boost controller running @ 1.2 BAR. Should produce some decent power/reliability then eh??? Or am I missing somthing here?

Whats a safe boost limit to run on an R34 GT-R V-Spec II? I only have Blitz Nur cat back exhaust & the rest is completely stock. It seems that most people say that 1.2 BAR is too much even for R34 GT-R's stock ceramic turbos? Is this true? Has anyone actually shattered their stock R34 GT-R turbos from 1.2 BAR boost? I am contemplating getting the Greddy Profec B-Spec II and bumping boost up to a max 1.2 BAR... but then again maybe not? Thanks in advance for any info/help!

Hi, Just wanted to get some info from you guys about the DBA "Slotted" 5000 Discs... are they any good? Ie - known for cracking/weak? Any bad experiences with them? I ask this because I am considering getting them for my new front discs for my R34 GT-R. Also, how much do they go for? Is Autobarn the best place to get them? Or Repco??? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again.

Spotted a white R35 GT-R (im guessing the one where the guy took a photo from the inside?) in Braddon parked beside the ALP building & leaving!!! We followed him for a bit and maaaaan he was putting the foot down!!! Sounds soooooo daaaamn good! Soooo fast!
