  1. Hi all, What part do I get to change my factory Japanese style small battery terminals to 'normal' larger ones? Is it something like 'Battery Terminal sleeves'? I have attached a picture of one example... Cheers, Glen
  2. You can get the tamper proof bolts from Super Cheap etc yeah?
  3. Thanks all for your help guys! I have taken out my centre console and can see the small orange box which appears to be the igniter for the Air bags and is bolted down by the 'tamper safe torx bolts'. Is this the only place where I need to use these torx bits? Do I need any other 'special' tools? Thanks again you guys!
  4. I found these Midori Hicas Cancellers... it looks like it will save a heap load of weight! Link: http://www.midoriseibi.co.jp/tuning/others...-canceller.html Also appears that they bolt up to the standard mounts where the Hicas normally goes with no bar in between what so ever. Although more expensive than a 'Cancel Rod' these seem like the closest thing to complete removal of Hicas without much fuss! However, has anyone ever used these?
  5. Thanks heaps for your info okidori! I have a few follow up questions... 1) Is the Air bag fuse where all the other fuses are? Ie - the fuse box under the bonnet? 2) What is the 'igniter' that you are referring to under the centre console? Does that have to be removed as well? 3) How would I go about taking the SRS light out of the guage cluster? I mean is it just a matter of taking out the guage cluster and taking out the small bulb that illumnates the SRS light? Or is there more to it? Cheers, Glen
  6. Hi all, My R34 GT-R is currently going on a slight weight loss program and I have now decided to make it pretty much a dedicated track car. I am now taking out whatever I dont need/use (backseats, spare tire, speakers/head unit, HICAS, interior trim etc etc) and so now I want to remove the SRS Air Bags from my R34 GT-R. I have one on the stock steering wheel and I have another on the passenger side dash board. So my question is this, how do I go about doing this? What do I have to take off/disconnect before even beginning to touch the air bag system? To my knowledge they can be quite sensitive (in terms of the electrics?) and if done incorrectly they can deploy??? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Glen
  7. Thanks for your info duncan. So the hicas motor does weigh a fare bit? Also, does that mean I wouldnt have the problem of having the HICAS light coming on because there is no solenoid in the engine bay? Cheers, Glen
  8. Thanks for your info sapphiregraphics! Yeah I dont plan on using any sort of big stereo systems so the 450cca should be fine for my application as opposed to the 680cca? Also, does a steel case make a big difference? Cheers, Glen
  9. Hi all, Has anyone ever used the Stinger 12V 450PCA Battery in their GT-R? Apparently they are a good alternative for the Odyssey PC680 in terms of size and performance and their also a lot cheaper! Weight is 7kg... similar to the PC680? So im heading towards one of these... Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Glen
  10. Hi all, I would like to completely remove the HICAS system in my R34 GT-R (instead of just a cancel rod etc etc) because of the weight saving (20kg's?) and the benefits in handling but am curious to know the procedure for R34 GT-R's... I have read the threads which describe the R32/R33's but its not a complete removal... just cancel rods and not on an R34 GT-R... Im guessing that it would be pretty much the same, (Ie - remove the rear steering arm, fluid resuviour tank/lines & motor in the boot) but I am interested to know of other R34 GT-R owners who have done this before... Cheers,
  11. The correct Odyssey model for R34 GT-R's is the "PC680" right? Where is a good place to get them? Cheers,

  18. BE AWARE! www.Performance-wise.com sells fake Takata Harnesses!!! They advertise for $340 +postage and so I bought one from them and it arrived yesterday and when I opened it up I thought it didnt look right, so I done a search on these forums and checked on yahoo and sure enough I have all of the tell tale signs of a fake!!! Seven stitching instead of four "Takata Corporation" instead of only "TAKATA" Expires in 2010 Has the three small black allen key bolts on the release So everyone/anyone, DO NOT buy the Takata Harnesses from www.Performance-wise.com!!!
