Hey, Check all you fuses, under the dash and in the engine bay, replace all that are blown. Check for fuel, pressure and injector pulse, should smell fuelly after cranking for a little while. Check battery voltage is high enough, should be if it is cranking fastly, if slowly, charge your battery. Check for spark at all of the spark plugs. Make sure any immobilisers are disarming. Further than this you will really need a workshop. Slim

Thanks for the input guys. The speedo rocked up a couple of days ago and I installed it this morning. I ended up pulling the gauge apart and setting the ODO myself, was a piece of cake and will work properly and reliably. If anyone wants to know how it's done, let me know. If I don't post here for ages send me a PM. Slim

Hello everyone, Has anyone bought themselves a new or second hand cluster for their Skyline? I have just purchased one, since my R32 GT-R's speedo doesn't quite go high enough. Installation isn't a problem but I was wondering if anyone knows how to set the ODOmeter readout(to show how many km's you have done). The One I have bought has more km on it than my car has done, is it even possible to wind the cluster back? If so, how do I go about doing this? PS: I'm not trying to be dodgy and wind mine back before I sell it, I only just got it! Cheers all Slim

Although, some manufacturers, eg Porche, are finding ways to minimise it a lot. I have recently driven a new Hyundai Santa Fe turbo diesel and you can hear the turbo spooling up even when you only just holding your foot on the throttle at 900rpm constant. It's bloody amazing, honest you can hear the whistle it makes at 900RPM!!! This is due to their new VGT's(Variable Geometry Turbo). Works something along the lines of changing the diameter of the exhaust turbine using a vacuum actuator, so that at low engine speeds it is the right size to boost and at high engine speeds it changes to stay efficient and increase flow. I don't think it is that new though, Porche have been using it for some time.

Just thought I'd start a big interesting topic. So what is it people.....Superchargers or TURBOCHARGERS?! Tell us why! I myself am a turbo man, hence the R32 GT-R. They make more sence!

What is the "CAS"? Yeah, it definately could be anything electrical, but it takes a bit of work and curcuit diagrams to work out exactly what is the problem, you wouldn't want to go replacing anything if it wasn't stuffed. Like you said, can get very expenisve. Anyone know how to change engine tupe under pic?

Hah, only just got myself an R32 GT-R a few months back. You car sounds very nice and all these others are praising it. I think if I bought it, that I would be missing out on that whole build up process, there is something about doing your own, part of the journey. Besides, I live in WA. Good luck with the sale, hopefully you can find a way to hold onto it though. <--- P.S Anyone know how to change the engine type under my pic?
