  5. Thanks guys.. I did leave the filler cap with him for matching. He said he has gone to a technician to match it and come up with a paint to use. Still a bit nervous as he says never perfect unless you do a full respray. Have told him I will not be happy it's visually different. Fingers crossed. Will find out soon enough I guess.
  6. Hi all, have been searching.. but cant find the answer I need. I have an Impul R33r, when the original modification work was done by Impul in Japan the car was resprayed - original colour was ANO (Maroon), they painted it silver. The ID plate in the car, and Fast both still say it's ANO. The body kit has a bit of damage, so have taken the damaged bits off and left with a painter/fibreglasser to repair, but he wants a paint code for it - which I don't have. I called Impul this afternoon (thankfully I speak Japanese) and they tell me there is no data left now on what the paint mix was, but it was definitely an Impul original, custom colour that is no longer continued. Apparently the base colour was KYO but because it's custom no actual complete code exists. They said even if I took it back to them now they would have to manually match the colour - they also seemed to think that this was not too hard. Everything I have been reading this afternoon though, and the painter I have engaged to do the fibreglass repair and paint seem to be saying that it's impossible to get a perfect match and I will be lucky if it's not visibly different! Does anyone know anything about paint matching? How it's done, what results are like, who is an expert in Sydney area?? Any help appreciated. Thanks..
  7. Now that's classic. I love it.
  8. Why would you want to stop a perfectly legitimate and sustainable harvest of food? You'll be trying to tell me I can't have a tasty Barramundi fillet next. Piss off and mind your own business. Clown. This is a car enthusiast forum - not a 'let's bash Japan' forum. Take your political message elsewhere. That should get you all going....
  9. Can't wait... had been wondering what happended on this one. Looking forward to those dyno results!!
  10. That's in Canberra. Fair few shots from there on SAU.
  11. With an Aristo, you will get stuck with an Auto - and they are horrible inside, such a bland interior. Same goes for the chaser. You can make a 4dr 'line look bloody good - 33 or 34... there was a hot looking 34 for sale on here just the other day. Not only that but RB's are pretty damn good for reliability. For me it came down to salary sacrifice on a new WRX wagon, a Legnum VR4 or the Skyline. WRX was just going to cost too much.. and they're too common.. VR4's have rust problems, and hard to get parts. 4 Door Skyline had to be the answer, and I'm bloody glad I went with mine.
  12. Yep.. baby rides in the back of my 4 door 33 - it's the perfect compromise for the need of a useable back seat vs something fun & sporty for me. Only problem is the wife complains I spend more time working on the car than I do with the baby!!
  13. Don't know the purple one, but think I remember reading about it being spotted around, bound to be someone on here. No good about that spitting mate.. often hear drunks up & down the street at night so probably that. Will of course keep an eye on your beast, always looking out for 'lines!! Will say hello if I see you there sometime.. good luck with the mods. Gareth.
  14. I think you need help for that wheel obsession you have!! My humble opinion - I thought the dish ones you had on there before were best, but those Manaray's have a bit of appeal too.. would like to see from side on. Don't like the Koenig's. But hey, a 4dr 33 is going to look good whatever. No bias, really.
  15. This very tidy r32 has been around a lot lately. Has a Mines sticker on the bonnet. One of the cleanest examples I have seen for a while, I'm enjoying it every time I walk past! Hi if you're on here!
  16. Yep, you have a non-standard front bar reo. Check this out - instructions for a hybrid kit, has some good pics of what it should look like... Intercooler
  17. Take the time to tidy up that hole, you'll feel better for it! Get yourself a couple of good quality metal files, you can pick them up at Bunnings or an engineering supplies shop - with the hole that bad you are probably going to want a coarse one to start off with and a smoother one to finish. Some sandpaper too for final prep. Don't forget to rust proof it too... only costs $10-15 for a can. Recommend the brush on stuff over spray, no hassle with masking and easier to get a good couple of thick coats on. You could even put a rubber boot around the hole - I used 6mm black vacuum hose on my intercooler hole, slit it open with a knife and siliconed it in. Looks like it was always meant to be there!!
  18. Ep 13 & 14 finally here, been a long wait!! Raws, of course.. translations will be a while away. And if anyone was wondering, yes the story does get much, much better.. I started off comparing to Initial D (Which I still love) and was disappointed, questioning whether this would be any good, but it's worth the wait. Stick with it - I am so addicted to Wangan now. 19. Try - http://www.intecracing.com/ There's a contact page, you could try dropping them an email and see if the're interested in helping you out..? Not sure if this is the right place, bet definitely looks like they do ecu chipping, though Nissan not mentioned. I found a reference to some other guy on a WRX forum with the same 3 wire switch that didn't seem to do much and an Intec sticker. Sounds like you're not alone.
  20. Cheers. Please let us all know when they come in!
  21. How soon is soon?? If the R33 version is as good as that S13 one, I'll be in! Would be keen on the sill plates as shown on your website for R33 too.
  22. Level 1, degree and living over there and you're still not getting work? Bugger, is it that hard these days? I applied for a few jobs from Oz mid last year and they all fobbed me off with the 'call us when you're here' line. Have since been promoted within my company here so put off Japan for at least another year or so. I have been thinking about taking the Jetro business Japanese test to make the old CV look better, but not quite gotten around to it yet.. Ahhh Ramen, yeah.. I really miss good ramen, a plate of gyoza and a couple of nama chu's for lunch!! Temples & gardens are good, but I really love the mountains. Skiing in winter, cold soba by the lakes in summer. Nothing like cruising up Gunma/Niigata way.
  23. I'd be back up there tomorrow if I could get 'real' work. Always on the lookout. And you're right, people are frendlier, more polite, harder working.. you get better food, better service, better cars. To top it all off you can actually live cheaper than in Oz because there are soo many options for everything and salaries are generally much better, especially for ex-pats. Might not be for everyone, but for those of us who like that kind of thing... I can't think of any reason you would want to leave. I wont, next time.
