  1. Sorry to hijack the thread... but is that true? Is there any point in doing it through RAC? I thought you guys may be a little more lenient and then the guys at the pits would just enter in the details on their computers for the DPI...
  2. Vehicle inspections have been opened up to the private sector because of ridiculous waiting times at DPI inspection centres and RAC (among a few other companies) can now give you a written report that you hand in to the pits. This is only a trial but DPI is extending it for a while longer, so I'm gonna take advantage of it! And you're meant to register it in WA asap, that 3 month thing is if you are a resident of where the vehicle is registered which means you can drive it here on those plates.. people get away with this but the rego is invalid here if you are a WA resident. Cant remember where I read it but it was something like you have to present the proof of ownership and pay stamp duty within 14 days otherwise you can be fined... meh
  3. Thanks a lot mate, had a bit of a look around but obviously didn't search properly
  4. Can any one in Perth recommend any where decent? Getting an alarm installed by Action Alarms who also do tinting but I haven't really heard much about them apart from the fact they're listed in the consolidated workshop thread..
  5. Looks a little out of place to me... doesn't quite fit the lines of the car or something. Definitely pretty unique though so if that's what you're after then go for it.
  6. I'd also like to see some night shots of this, and whether it's actually legal or not!
  7. So you wouldn't be the police commissioner's son or something would you levinet? Seems like you get away with everything! If only car transport was a little cheaper, we could take advantage of the poor guys in NSW on P's who can no longer drive their fancy cars haha
  8. Thanks for the answers people. I know it's much cheaper to buy locally, but not for the car I'm after.. There are plenty of skylines around but none that fit my requirements and I'm not really prepared to import from Japan, although it would probably be cheaper. I suppose its the same kind of gamble you take when compared to importing because it can't be test driven, but I'd rather get a car interstate that has already been complianced and I know is working well (NRMA inspection or something similar) and pay the price for being fussy (or irrational haha).. I did also read on the DPI website that you need a permit to move the car, and that it can only be moved to inspection workshops or to licensing centres because registration becomes invalid. DPI says you have 3 months to get your vehicle registered in WA after moving it from over east (but you still need a permit to drive it). Then again you see people all the time driving on different plates so who the hell knows!
  9. Sorry to revive an old thread, but just want to confirm what has to be done to the car for inspection and registration. Does the car actually need to be taken right back to stock like an import or if its registered over east does it just need a basic inspection here to make sure all components are legal in WA? A mate told me it also needs to go over the pits over east before it can leave, true?
  10. You guys in NSW have all the nice skylines! If I didn't live on the other side of Aus I'd probably buy this, getting it shipped is pretty damn pricey.. good luck mate.
  11. I'll throw in [iRASHNL] and [NSFW] Don't really go for the custom plate thing, each to their own though I guess
  12. Nice looking car mate, if it was in Perth I'd definately be considering it, good luck with the sale
