  1. I'm pretty sure i've never put in over 50 litres at the pump. On average I stretch it out to 400-420 before refilling, so 450 is an estimate about hom much I would get, probably a tad more? I've yet to see my fuel warning light. Judging by my refill levels I feel I could stretch it out more.
  2. Yeah I think I have the freak '1.5' version R33 people talk about. You guys getting 300/350, do you have heavy mods though?

    tint?

    Mine cost $250 for a 3M tint one grade over the legal tint. Don't go to Tint-A-Car, there a big rip off, they quoted me $400! "Mmm, thanks I'll get back to you" NOT.
  4. I'll be looking at upgrading the stock turbo in a few months, I currently have my sights set on a 2nd hand HKS 2530 or 2535, something thats very torquey/responsive down low. I'm not familiar with what the comp and housing specs mean on turbo's? But the 2530 has had good reports from what i've read, so without stirring up another HKS v Garrett debate I was wondering what turbo's on each side are closely spec'd E.g. HKS 2510 similar specs too Garrett GT?? HKS 2530 similar specs too Garrett GT?? HKS 2535 similar specs too Garrett GT?? HKS 2540 similar specs too Garrett GT?? Thanks for any info.
  5. Mine backfires all the time no matter what gear or rev range, i've been told as already mentioned its probably running rich. Better rich than lean though, I still get 450 a tank so i'm not complaining. With a stock ECU not much you can do except get a S-AFC if its rich.

  8. If its a turbo gasket you'll here it eminating from around the turbo (obviously), and it'll gradually get worse. Thats what mine did. When it starts ticking again, get someone to rev it and stick your head near the turbo and have a good listen. Though my noise didn't come and go as yours does?

  11. You car will get sold in no time on the TP, but their friggen expensive now. I put in a 2 week advert for my old Daewoo and it cost $35 then stopped, I then entered it again for another $35 which ran for 3 weeks, then it stopped again. Rip off! Go carsales.com.au, $10 until it sells.
  12. If you get Platinums, which come in 1.1's or .06 I think? How do accurately gap them down? If your using sandpaper doesn't that rub the special coating that is on the platinums?

  14. Mmm, decisions, decisions. Its a bugger trying to decide on a IC kit when your a newbie. I am still leaning towards the V-SPL due to its low price at the moment, it can probably be had for $1100 delivered. I was aware of the trimming involved with the V-SPL for the front bar, nothing that cant be done in a weekend with some helpful hands. I'm certainly not stuck on jap brands, I just cant find local kits that rival that price?...

  17. Just wanted to know what sort of tuning can actually be done to say a RB25DET when you only have the stock ECU? When I first started reading these forums I was under the impression (and i'm sure others still are) that the the factory ECU could be retuned by anyone But I soon realised that it can only be done if you have a remapped/rechipped ECU or you have a PowerFC etc... My bosses brother owns an Ultra-Tune outlet, so I can possibly get a significant discount or even free dyno time. I know what some are saying "Ewww! Not UT!" But hes no spring chicken when it comes to Jap Imports having tweaked his own RX7 and his brothers S14. So, allot of people mention getting their cars tuned but what is actually tweaked when you have a stock ECU... A/F ratio's, timing?

  19. Mine also has a minor surge on idle as well. Though no where near as viscous as yours by the sound of it, but it was suggested to me it could also be the AFM or my aftermarket BOV.
  20. I had the same problem, so I took it the mechanic to replace, he even said he had trouble getting the bugger off, so he just cut both hoses then replaced the filter and put on the new hoses.

  22. Guys, how many litres of coolant will be needed do you think? I've got 5 litres of 60 Plus (2 Years) coolant, and it says not to mix with other coolant or water. I just dont want to get half way through the job and realise I need more and be sorta stuck with an undriveable car?
  23. Yep it does, I use it clean all the windows at home too. I also put it in my windscreen wiper water.

  25. ^ Bump ^ Off topic but... DJ_L3ThAL, can I ask what size/brand IC that is and where exactly did you have to do the chopping? I'm gunna have to do some chopping on my M-Spec bar soon as well, and also make room for the fog lights, any tips? Edit: Mine
