  2. r31: yeh true i spose but i more meant it as in for the application i have, it helped alot, and its no where near as laggy as most people would have thought, but i didnt really mention that alot of friends have identical set ups just with stock plenums, and ariel who made the plenum was actually surprised how responsive it was for such modifications.... ben...
  3. i should have done a before and after with my stock v's new plenum, i was just gettin everything done at once so it was a waste of time to do really... but very noticible on the street since it was a hell of a lot more responsive,( shorter piping, and flows better than the greddy items according to the flow tests) uses the stock runners and there is bugger all difference between all 6 cylinders, i also got an 80mm billet throttle body... i got mine made by Ariel @CPC Plenums in Wollongong goes by ISL-33P on these forums very good value for money and look tough ben...

  5. if u have a box around ur pod then a fmic should be fine, i had no drama;s gettin pulled over before when the car was like that... if u plan on doin alot more mods then a guy here in wollongong can do a certificate for $500 ben...
  6. all these parts came off my r33 gts-t series 2 pics will be added tomorrow * Single DIN container ( storage thing with flip down panel)- $10 * Stock washer bottle with motors etc $15 * Car jack- $10 * 2x 3" Dump pipes ( both off high mount manifolds with ex wgate, one pretty rusty, one just needs a cleanup and has the 02 sensor connection) $15 each * Various black pipes ( were used with intercooler) $POA * Pair sunvisors- $25 * Throttle body with TPS- $40 * 3" steel intake pipe with HKS pod filter ( filter needs preplacing though)- $40 ( this was on a high mount, so unsure how it would go on a stock low mount. * Might be selling the gutted cat $15 Im After a 4" Magic CAT if anyone has one cheers...ben.

  8. i dont find the point in removing it, if it works fine ( unless it was a track car) i have a fairly built up engine with lost of extra bolt ons with still heaps of room for my air con.... ben...

  11. i had the pwoer fc on my car, and although it was great for a plug in ecu and was working great, till it got to the point where basically my engine had nothing stock left in it, i switched to an AUTRONIC SM4 although alot pricier than the power fc, i cant say i would ever use another ecu, the autronic is absolutley awesome ben...
  12. contact Ariel@cpc plenums, he is ISL33P on these forums, he made my plenum and it has 80mm billet throttle body, with the bigger turbo its alot more responsive, and flows exceptionally well, and wasnt that expensive either ben...
  13. yes it was a bit pricey but comparing how the car performs and the funtions it has over the power fc that used to run its at 2 different ends of the scale i have an rb25/30, full rebuilt, balanced blueprinted, so basically pretty damn solid block, got 270 degree cams with big lift, trust td07s turbo, custom plenum, fuel system is plenty, autronic sm4 ecu and CDI system alot more mods but yeh just the main ones anyways ben...
  14. i was using the Apexi Avcr boost controller but then changed the ecu to an Autronic so now that has its own boost controller since i didnt want to be changing boost as i drive anyway.... i dont like having just a wastegate spring as the boost control because as i have read and seen my car on the dyno, the wastegate spring if set at 20psi will begin to slightly open at a bit under that so its fully open at 20, meaning that there will be more gases vented when not needed and could have been used to boost up the turbo quicker ben...
  15. i got a vented fibreglass bonnet on my car atm but now does not have enough clearence wih the new motor, and also it has never lined up perfect on the sides, it also has 2 cracks in it, so im thinkin to just get one custom made so everything is perfect... can any panel beaters do these or any recommended places for this type of work, prefer wollongong/illawarra area since they would most likely need the car for the measurments cheers...ben.
  16. nah it doesnt build up pressure due the the air filter on the top, so since it vents out to atmosphere it would not be legal...if they dont vent then yes they are legal ben...

  18. yeh go3.5" all the way through, might as well it will be alot better.... i have a 3.5" to my cat then a 4" cat back most exhaust shops should do it ben...

  22. my mate got his wired straight from the ecu, but i hve also heard ppl wiring into the 02 sensor on the dump pipe ben...
  23. i agree with Angry, whats the point of havin money if ur not gonna spend it, thats why i at a young age invested in a business shares and realestate ( house here and unit o/s) and i have spent alot of money i have 2 cars, but i have lots of assets too so when it comes to loan time, or to buy another house as another investment, i have ways to pay things off instead of using working income and also have a lot more in my pocket for doing nothing really... like i said, im only 21, when ppl ar saying why save ur hole life for? well i dont think waiting ill i was 21 was my whole life, and its given me a big start to the rest of my financial success... ben...
  24. tube and fin doesnt cool as much but has less pressure drop, bar and plate cools alot more but has a slightly higher pressure drop, also the tube and fins from what ive been told will flow more air thru to ur radiator....bar and plate are used more common in cars that like to drag, i have bar and plate hybrid cooler ben...
