thanks guys,i found a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6 Tommi Makinen Limited Edition for $26,000 with only 50,000km which i think is a bargain. just have to sell the R33 and im set. -
hi all,just wondering which car would be better...... in terms of speed,handling, fuel consumption etc. ive been thinking of buying a EVO 6 and ive found one on the net for $23,000 but are they superior to a stock R33? if it aint then i will stick with my skyline but lately i want a car with more room and 4 doors. your thoughts?

im not branding all p-platers like that,im branding the p-platers and any other moron who wants to be a hoon and drive around like their indestructable & screwing it up for me,you and everyone else. i was just stating the facts and what ive seen personally,p-platers screwed it for themselves by using streets as a drag strip and all the deaths from driving high performance cars which obviously were out of their league+their inexperience. i cant even go out for a relaxing drive in my skyline without p-platers in their shit box commodores trying to race me & they come up beside me so i tell them to f**k off through the window,ive even been pulled over by the cops when i took my misses to the hospital cause she was in labour cause a dick head p-plater was trying to race me one night,the cops accused me of street racing until they seen my wife. im serious when i say that every guy that has tried to race me on the street is a p-plater,ive had others who are on their full's who offered to go to the track which is obviously the smart idea. how i said,its the majority of hoon p-platers that are ruining it for the rest of yous,its on the news at least twice a week. -

i hate inexperienced p-platers,as soon as they get a their license they want a high powered car which they cant handle and kill themselves,friends and innocent people......inexperience+high powered cars = death. as i was saying the twit is a perfect example of a p-plater who thinks he knows it all and has plenty of experience cause hes driven a Ferrari yet hes that stupid to think that brakes,tyres,suspension & handling aint important enough,hes a typical big headed smart ass when people recommend what he should do hes nothing but a prick to them. and i know there are people my age who do the exact same,there wankers who like going through stop signs and have to do a burn out every corner they go around and try to race every car that has an exhaust its cause they still think their 17 and think its cool and it impresses chicks and thanks to wankers like them that we have all these restrictions and being picked on by the cops,why use public roads as their own personal race way?they think its all fun until they kill someone and wipeout another family in a car. -

hes not allowed to drive a Ferrari cause hes on his p's,well why the hell are you driving a turbo charged skyline you twit? sorry to the other p-platers on here but this is the perfect example of why i despise them. all they want is power but they dont want the mods like brakes,tires & suspension which could possibly save their lives and others cause to them it has nothing to do with power....tell me what good is power if you dont have the means to control it? i hate these type of people with a passion. -

Brand New Timing Belt....

no,he didn't grease any bearings on my car it was another mates,all the mech did on my skyline was the timing belt and supposedly the water pump. my mate did my rocker covers about a month before i got the timing belt done,yeah he took the rocker covers off and painted them and put in new spark plugs and we noticed the throttle body was putrid it was black with filth so he took off the throttle body and the plenum and the AAC valve and gave it a thorough clean with carby cleaner then degreaser and he put it back together. the car was running smoother but then we noticed the revs were staying at 1200 rpm and my mate said not to worry about it. some guys on here told me to turn the idle srew in and the revs are now at 1000rpm but before all this happened it sat on 850rpm. the car does shudder alot when i start it up for the first time in the day and the revs stay really low around 400-450rpm like its gonna stall for a little while then it shoots up to 2200rpm then when it warms up sits on 1000rpm. about a month later is when i got the the timing belt and water pump done. im gonna go see the other mechanic tomorrow cause he wanted me to bring it in to have a look and i will tell him all the things that are wrong with it and hopefully he can fix it all,i will ask him to replace all the old belts and get him to take a look at the water pump while hes got the cover off. yeah whatever my mate did is the culprit for the over revving,for all i know he stuffed the throttle body all he didnt put a gasket on properly. -

from what people have told me recently he's dodgy i wish i knew that before i seen him,people say they have asked for a oil change and spark plugs and he only changed the oil,reused the oil filter and when they checked the spark plugs they were putrid,a mate told me he needed new bearings in something cause they were making a noise,he paid for brand new ones and found out the guy greased up the old ones. the thing is the prick never gives out receipts so there is no proof you even went to him. i asked for a brand new water pump but i doubt he even did it,i asked him if it was a pulley but everytime i brought the car to him it didn't make the noise cause it only does it every now & again. as for the screeching today i started the car up to mow the lawn and it did it again even when i was driving it kept going then stopped,mowed the lawn started it to put it back and screeched again. i have opened the bonnet when it screeched and it sounded in the area of the timing belt and it stopped after a bit,revved the car & sounded normal it only really happens when i start the car cause the car shudders like anything when i start it and the revs are real low like almost stalling then they go up to 2000rpm after 7 secs and when its warmed up stays at 1000rpm,i also told him about that as well and he said i don't know,f**k hes lazy. it never use to do that until my mate took off the rocker covers to paint them yellow and he took off the plenum to clean it cause it was filthy,he put it back together now the revs are too high so i have no idea what he has done to it. -
i recently got a expensive good brand timing belt put on my car and my water pump done as well because it was making a fluttering noise and my mate said it might be the water pump & it sounded like it was screwed. picked my car up and paid half the cash and started it up and the fluttering noise which was coming from where the water pump was heaps worse than normal so i got out and asked did you do my water pump and he said yeah and informed me cars make that noise after a while so i said how come all my mates with their skylines which are older models then mine don't make that noise? he said he didn't know which i replied with a get f**ked you lazy bastard and he told me he wants the rest of the money. the next day i started the car and its was screeching for like a minute stationary or if i accelerate forward it stops, noise was coming from where my new belt was. it keeps doing this if the car sits there for like half a day and start it up. the noise is like when you hear a guy start up a really old ford falcon and you hear it screeching when he drives off. could it need tightening as its a brand new one? im gonna see another mechanic my mates take their turbo cars to and if he says that the water pumps screwed that other mech is gonna hear about it and he better give my money back. do you think it is a stuffed water pump for it to keep making a loud fluttering noise? it dont do it all the time but when it does its pretty load. thanks guys.

DO NOT go to the cops they are assholes. i went to them a few years ago and asked them what is needed for my FMIC on a turbo-charged commodore to be street legal and they said i needed a engineer certificate and i got one and came back a week later cause i was pulled over and was told that my engineer cert was only for the turbo kit and they gave me a warning. i went back to the same guy at the cop station and told him about it and where it said on my cert that it was engineered and he said he wants to take a look at my car. he told me to pop the bonnet and and he told me he was gonna defect me for the turbo-kit and the FMIC and the exhaust system i said it was all engineered he replied saying he don't know the engineer. told me engineer and he took them to court over it and won naturally cause he was a certified engineer and no cost to me then i received a letter from the cops in the mail saying i had to go to either penrith or botany bay for a emissions test with the RTA. it was a 14 hour drive down and 14 back from where i lived,you should have seen the coppers and the prick at the RTA faces when i passed. bottom line.....they will try to f**k you over.

hi,i want to run my car at 15psi but i dont know what mods i have to get??? its a r33 gtst series 1 and its stock except for the 3inch exhaust. the only things ive seen people write in other topics is a front mount,after market ecu and get it tuned and a better turbo...something bout my stock turbo having ceramic fins which can break at 14psi and the boost controller. is this right & is there more mods i would have to get? thanks.

i think your right,i just read on a site cant remember what its called something bout skylines & GTR owners but there was a topic basically the same as mine and alot of them have the same problem after cleaning their throttle and plenum. they say there is a seal which was covered with shit & they cleaned it but didn't realize they were cleaning off the seal as well and when put back together = in 1200rpm+ even with the idle screw all the way in. did you know how much it will cost to fix? is it really expensive? -

i had a look around the plenum and intake pipes but there is that much air being blown around its nearly impossible to feel or hear for an air leak. i had a listen at the back of the plenum and engine and there is a hissing noise but i don't know if that noise has always been there. any ideas??? -

i will check for an air leak but they are really hard to find because of the fan and the noise of the engine,i might have to take the plenum back off to make sure he put the gasket on properly. -

Ive done what the guides told me,i warmed the car up and took off the brown plug that's connected to the aac valve and rotated the idle screw clockwise to decrease my idle but it only decreased by a fraction then i reconnected the plug. in the thread it said to aim for 900rpm before reconnecting the brown plug but my car only went down to 1000rpm even with the idle screw nearly all the way in. i even tried doing it how it said to in the other thread with disconnecting the TPS plug but ended with the same result. so its at 1000rpm which is better then 1200-1300rpm. but still shouldn't it go back to 800-850rpm where it was normally? i just don't know why it wouldn't go below 1000rpm? any thoughts? last thing i want is to take it to a mechanic to charge me a fortune. also i haven't messed with the idle screw on the ecu yet. -

in my shit town there is probably 9 skylines getting around including mine.... 2 R-34'S, 1 highly modified R-31,3 R-32's and the rest R-33's. a few Silvia's a couple of supra's ,1 brand new 2008 Subaru sti,1 Toyota soarer and a whole lot of 300zx. its a small town and ive only had one of the 34 owners wave back at me the others have either given me the finger or chased after me then come up along side me & give me a pshhhhhh then take off. i think in general its a turbo owner thing going on and most of the guys in town drive like dead set f*** heads,i go out for a relaxing drive as i really enjoy driving my car but i either have assholes yelling pshh pshh through my window as i drive by & im like wtf? i dont have an aftermarket bov or they do that damn pinky finger thing at me and im driving normal. -

hi, my mate took off my rocker covers and painted them for a Christmas present but when we took off the intake pipe we noticed my throttle body was putrid so we took off the throttle body and the plenum plus the aac valve and gave it a very good clean. we put it all back together but now my car revs at 1200-1300rpm even when the car is fully warmed up,it used to rev at 800rpm. any ideas? any help to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

i dont know if this is normal or not but when i start my car up the revs go over 1000rpm and in a split second they go down that low its like the engine is struggling to get the revs back up so i give it a bit of a rev and it goes back up but there is this weird tic tic tic noise under the bonnet? its due for a major service but it has done this for a little while now,any ideas??? the only thing i can think of is i got it serviced by a mechanic a while back... just the oil and oil filter and he could have put some cheap ass oil in it.

i got the 400R indicators from just jap the ones for $270 and i even asked them if these will fit my car and 400R front bumper and they said yes......well they dont. for starters they are too small to sit properly and they wont go all the way in because they are pushing against my reo bar. any ideas? (desperate) -

i'll be getting the R-34 GT-T cooler which was recommended but what do you mean i should be more worried about my ECU having a fit?would winding the boost screw around with my ECU? do i have to get a aftermarket ECU and get it tuned cause i wouldnt want to do anything to my baby which might mess it up. -
