  1. There was mention of fuel absorbing water and rusting injectors in non daily cars so just clarifying
  2. So my understanding of this thread is that this fuel isn't recommended for non daily driven cars? My cars lucky to be driven once a month sometimes, would this cause the fuel to go off?
  3. Love it, finally back on road ey That engine sure does look purty
  4. Is that ruzic controller the II model? If so I'll take that and the grill if all clips are intact
  5. I'm starting to think you're right, i'd always wanted a twin highmount setup for my car but starting to think this one might be just a lil too ambitious for what i need lol I'll ring couple places and get there inputs over next couple weeks and see what we come up with but i think by sounds of it there might be a twin hi mount kit on market again soon This is why i haven't bought many other performance parts for it yet as everything is still up in the air on what it's going to have but i thought i could get away with this kit on a RB28 stroker tuning to around 750hp for one wild street car, guess i'm wrong (not easy to admit lol) Trying to avoid the 30 path, if only they fitted under bonnet without any issues but in saying this i read a thread on here about racepaces RB29 and was very intrigued, have to have look again to see what block they used
  6. Workshop i'm still undecided on but have thought of ringing racepace, jhh and couple others here in Bris I don't want an all out drag car, i'm kinda hoping i can get a setup that will have these spooling up around 4k that will hopefully give me some sort of driveability As for management i'm leaving that decision for whoever i get to tune the car but heard some good things about new haltechs although like the vipec units also Clutch and gearbox - well i thought i had that sorted but seller hasn't got back to me albeit will be a dogbox slotted behind Suspension and brakes are done, have tein superstreet coilovers fitted along with whiteline full adjustable suspension, brakes are 6 pot front & 4 pot rear GREX system Diffs - will get looked at when they fail Fuel system - twin entry fuel rails, dual pumps, bigger i.d lines etc set up for 98 to start with, need to learn more about E85 before i take that step Oil control - I was thinking of running genuine nismo item with the duct that runs behind bumper (again i want to set up for street as well as strip so think dry sump system would be overkill) Heaps more i need to think about as well, think i just need to give tuners a call and see which one i like best
  7. Lol 200 for that diff you gotta be dreaming Read above its 1200 for the diff on top of sump so 2200
  8. Very interesting Just did some research after reading this and looks as though 10mm spacer is easy enough to do and also set of R31 RD28 engine mounts are shorter and should work so just ordered set of these mounts to have a look at and see if infact they will work Obviously this would only work on a Giken motor as a proper 30 motor would have the adapter plate under block If this works i can see around an 18-20mm drop in bay which means it would only be around 5mm higher than standard Interesting
  9. Bringing this thread back to life again as still researching Looked into the RB30 OS Giken motors but not a fan of leaving the timing covers off for clearance etc Contacted Powertune about there Elephant package motor as they refer to it which is in the R34, so looks as though is either going to be one of these, a Tomei complete Genesis or a built HKS motor which i'm still waiting for more info on As mentioned turbo kit has been purchased and i ended up getting the Plazmaman intercooler same as in the powertune R34 Now to point of this point Currently looking at Inlet manifolds Hypertune looks to make some good manifolds, is there a HUGE difference between a single throttle one and there unit that keeps the 6 throttle system? I've seen threads where they enlarge the standard throttles, wouldn't this provide similar flow?
  10. I felt like xmas had come early this afternoon when this arrived at front door Once all unpacked it looked a little something like this Yepp, 1 complete top mount HKS turbo kit capable of upto around 1000HP Not going to unwrap everything though as need to build motor before these are attached but did unwrap a couple of things to have a look at I had to laugh whilst unpacking though, i was thinking how the hell does this all go together That'll be job of engine builder me thinks
  11. Hey congrats on new project mate Coming from a Suby background all i can say is everything you THINK a part should cost for this car, double it lol As for your engine/gearbox question i put mine in as a bolted package, very tight squeeze but it fits (obviously without any gear in front of it but by sounds of it you'd already know that) As for parts being rare for these, you can essentially buy a WHOLE car out of Japan if your cheque book is big enough. I have already spent thousands on new parts myself, PM Chris Rogers here on these forums, that's who i got to import my parts I think nothing looks better than a car with a new paint job, if i was you i'd save the lil extra and get whole car resprayed, looks soo much better Lot of guys here on forums would be willing to lend a hand if you ask them nicely (and i in your area obviously lol)
  12. Got home yesterday and there were couple boxes waiting for me to unpack First of all the new cooler, these things are HUGE 2ndly the carbon plate and -12 fittings arrived for the N1 covers No sign of the HKS turbo kit yet though Sent email through and they say it was sent around week ago through e-go but i never recieved even email from ego which they usually send and i notice he still has this system listed on ebay - if not seen by end of week then i have no option than to start proceedings to get money back
  13. Just for reference purposes These are the 6 pot 360mm fronts from the kit, also off the 350Z Only thing needed to be done to fit these to an R32 is either trim or bend the edge of the dust plate back so it doesn't scrape on rotor and drill out the mounting holes in hub to accept the bigger bolts I was suprised that the caliper didn't even foul on the dust cover whatsoever
  14. Looking for complete set of R34 caliper bolts front and rear to bolt new brakes to my 32 Surely someone on here has a set
  15. Mates friend says he's done heaps of brake stuff for people so i have set of rear hubs on way to him now along with these brakes for him to have look at Also taking spare front hubs i have hear to him also to drill out the mounting holes for the fronts (better job than me drilling with hand held drill lol) Will keep yas updated as progress happens so we have a definate thread to answer this question in future
  16. Being that the calipers are so close to fitting there's not room for any style of bracket IMO After talking to a friend this arvo he has a mate that does CNC work at home so he's going to ask him about this project tonight If he reckons it's doable i'll buy couple uprights and send over to him and see how we go
  17. Looks as though these won't fit Pulled my brakes off today and thought i'd see for myself what needs to be done for these to fit First of all lets just say once you have dust covers out of the way the disc will fit perfectly albeit the handbrake pad surface area is 5mm narrower than that of the R and as well known in these forums the rotors them selves have a different offset bringing the disc closer to the wheel The caliper is a different story, as mentioned elsewhere on these forums the bolt size holding caliper in place is bigger than that of the 32 (prob same size as 34 IMO). This isn't the only problem though, the spacing for the bolt holes is 10mm further apart than that of the 32 and finally the final offset of the actual mounting brackets that actually hold the caliper onto the hub is also different resulting in pushing the rotor out off the hub by 5-10mm when in place So for anyone thinking of putting a set of 350z brakes onto there Skyline the mods that i can see needed to be done would be * Weld in the holes that are in the hub assembly at moment * Mill required 5-10mm off the hub assemblies mounting point facing the disc * Weld in new billet piece to outer side of mounting point to accomodate the amount you took off the opposite face * Redrill the mounts so there out a further 5mm on each side to accomodate the wider spacing on caliper This doesn't take into account the engineering side, would this make the mounting points weaker? Would bracing be needed? etc etc All in all IMO i think it's too much work when you can buy another set of brakes that will bolt straight on So saying this anyone know someone with a 350Z that wants a set of GReddy 6 pot 358mm fronts and 4 pot 330mm rear brakes? lol Here's a dummy pick of wheels on with brakes in place but as mentioned the rotor was NOT sitting flush on the hub
  18. Has anyone actually done this yet? I know they don't just boly up but thought someone would have maybe made some brackets or something made up by now I'm asking as i just bought a GReddy 6/4 brake kit for my car (i was under impression when i bought it they would bolt up ) So before selling them i thought i'd just see if they could actually somehow be fitted to a 32 R
  19. Yeah i was going to call you tomorrow actually and come up for drive and drop them off and pick some stuff up there you have of mine lol
  20. Some more parts awaiting arrival Couldn't believe this HKS kit was still available PLAZMAMAN 100mm Intercooler same as in Powertunes 900+ hp GTR TOP SECRET Carbon Ornament Fitted to N1 Cover
  21. Something to do with the pressures on the cylinder walls from having shorter conrods
  22. How's the 2.8 holding up to the power this thing puts out? Any problems? Had a engine builder tell me that high HP motors tend to try and rip a stroked RB26 apart
  23. Hey guys Was just looking at giken site and noticed you can buy there straight cut gears with either standard input shaft or a Hollinger unit What's the pro's and cons of this option?
  24. 18x11 cc03 fit on a 32 GTR with aftermarket big brakes without any dramas? How much for set in polished bronze?
