  1. ^ Man i love those rims, professors?? Is your mate selling?? my mate has a series 8 rx-7 and looking for those rims haha. I think i need to start meeting some other 32 owners in Perth haha your car looks mint!
  2. Some SERIOUSLY hot 32s in the last few pages!!! Here's some pics of mine: Just as an aside that yellow CRX in the first pic is running a K20A and 6spd!
  3. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to technical stuff but here's what happened: Engine/Car: RB26DETT / R32 GTR (1990) Type of failure: Spun oil drive collar on crankshaft = no oil pressure @ 8000rpm, saw the light and backed off and shut the car down. Crankshaft snout, oil pump and harmonic balancer stuffed. Everything else was just really old and dirty. Factors influencing the failure: Age and design flaw of the R32 GTR Crank??? Oil flow issues??? State of tune of the engine: Stock - Cat back exhaust, Intake Suspension and tyres: Nismo shocks and dampers, 18x9.5" work emotion cr kai (265/35), Falken Oil used and service interval: Oil + Filter + Maintenance every 5000km General comments: Wasn't happy at all when it happened - especially the financial side. Decided upon ground up rebuild with lots of new parts (pistons, rods, 33 crank, n1 pump, turbos, valves etc etc)... car is a neat streeter, no high power figures here. Figured on not changing the original recipe of the standard gtr too much - after all it lasted 20 years before catastrophic failure right?
  4. No firm dates here sorry but I'd put my money on it having the longer drive. What are you planning to do to the car?
  5. I can't rmb the exact specs but I'm quite certain it was 18 x 9.5 with +20 offset, running 265s all around. www.jdmconcept.com.au ... yeah some bloody sweet 32s on here
  6. Some pics of my R.. I was just wondering, does the plastic front lower lip look better colour coded??
  7. Hi I'm interested in turbos.. shaft play/leaks/smoke? pics? and how much for postage to Perth, Wa. Cheers
  8. Just bought one about a month ago, best advice would be to prepare for the worst! Obviously you can minimize this type of mentality to a certain extent by getting the car checked out by a competent mechanic - make sure you get a compression test too. Just remember EVERYTHING on the car is bloody old!!! and you will probably find a few little annoying things that have gone wrong with it over the last TWENTY years... just takes time and $$$ to fix. I'm sure people have said this heaps but it requires heaps of maintenance and many previous owners were probably not willing to go that extra mile, this is why engine rebuilds can be shortly fused timebombs because some owners just want a cheap build to get rid of the car. Having said that, I've owned a few hi-po cars in the past but was always too scared to take the 32GTR plunge. Everytime i see it now puts a big grin on my face... wonder how long it will last haha, but yeah I pretty much have a sum of money set aside for catastrophic mechanical failure. I guess the moral is you gotta make sure you're passionate about it before taking the plunge. You could buy a MUCH newer performance car for the same monies.
  9. I've been told pleading your case in person to the DPI can lead to e-plates. dont quote me on that though, was told about it a couple of years ago. I just got a letter saying I can only get 3 more demerit points before losing my license, and it outlined the whole double or nothing thing as well... sigh.
  10. stories like this shit me! I can see why you gave in and decided to pay etc. My mate accidentally scuffed an 02 e-class rear bumper (his NEIGHBOUR) while reversing and left a note... that evening the guy came knocking and wanted 1.5k cash that day and threatened with swearing and saying he'll him to court and the whole thing. He agreed to my mates choice of repairer and got it looking like new for 300 bucks...
  11. Check out this guy ben tan auto.. his number is 0417090157 he's in jandakot, funny guy, always gives real good prices and does a good job
  12. Would you like contact for cheapish/decent panel/bodykit work? Check out ben tan auto in jandakot! He's done all my stuff, and just did a mates supra, looked mint and didn't cost a fortune.
  13. Awesome video, those r32s still hold the bathurst record yeah?
  14. I agree, sounds like bearings, don't be too worried, but it probably is time to start saving for a box! Had the same problem in my s14 (filings) and from memory my mechanic used a different box oil to prolong its life.
