  1. Hi all, Have done a search but couldn't find the answer. Has anyone had their power window motor replaced under statutory warranty. My driver's side is starting to play up and as I have only had the car 1.5 months I'm hoping that it can be replaced under the dealer's statutory warranty, or will this be considered wear and tear? Thanks
  2. I wanted a sedan for a long long time before buying a coupe, but not because I thought the sedan was ugly! Some of the guys over at G35 Driver have sedans which look absolutely stunning - VIP style, clean, athletic etc. A couple of members here have some real beauties, N15MO's lakeshore slate and GoldV35's cars are mint looking too. I eventually opted for the coupe because it was easier to get one with more features (curtain + side airbags, non-CVT, sun roof etc., leather & suede interior as opposed to cloth on most S2 sedans). Might be worthwhile thinking about the resale value too when making your choice. As for handling maybe someone else is more qualified to speak on any difference in the spring set up of the coupe as opposed to a sedan.
  3. Do you have a coupe or sedan? Most coupes have 6 air bags (dual front, side and curtain), however most sedans only have 2 up front. Side and curtain was an option on sedans and from the searching I did through many sedans (before buying a coupe) it was an extremely rare option
  4. I'm a 24 year old male on a rating 1 with Just Car Insurance and paying $1430 full comprehensive. That's in Melbourne's south east for a 2003 premium coupe. Only extras are GPS and Ipod connection. Agreed value is $31,000. Excess (including age excess) is either $1000 or $1050, can't remember exactly!
  5. Thanks Chris. I can't wait to have a play All the best for the rest of your tour
  6. I experienced something similar last year with those guys who put up private seller ads on carsales.com.au but are clearly running a business. Prepurchase inspection saved me from buying what must have been a severely wound back vehicle. A couple of weeks later the same guy emailed me with some pics of a blue 350GT-8 sedan premium which was very distinct from most other sedans because it had reverse camera, sunroof, sunroof shield and one of those Jap toll things near the shifter. He claimed it had about 25,000kms on the clock and was auction grade 4.5. I realised I had seen the car on Prestige Motorsport's website and upon checking saw it was the exact same vehicle except listed as auction grade 3.5, with 86,000kms on the clock. I replied his email with the link to Prestige Motorsport but never received a reply. Word of warning to anyone who deals with those guys (you can tell their ads from a mile away on carsales.com.au). Just be wary I'm hoping to finally get my 35 coupe maybe by the end of this week. It will be getting the Chris Rogers treatment either today or tomorrow so needless to say I am extremely excited It has been a month since I put a deposit down but I decided to delay by a week and a bit on getting it delivered to Melbourne given that Chris was going to be able to work his magic
  7. Not sure if you have read this thread or not but it might be worth a look: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Di...irect+injection
  8. ^Haha... Looking forward to it! Counting the days down actually Maybe in a few years if I can afford one and once Chris has had a while longer to delve through the multimedia capabilities I will get one. Affordability being the major IF... Congrats again fellas beautiful cars you have there
  9. Those are 2 sexy cars right there... I'm envious. That second pic is cool. The V36s look awesome from the back
  10. Spotted blue coupe turning onto Highbury Rd Burwood from Warrigal Rd this evening
  11. Most Australian delivered cars in the last 5 years or so are between 4-7% under. I've heard it is to comply with Australian standards. I know the J31 Nissan Maxima with the VQ35 is 7% under ie 93kph when speedo is 100, the latest BMW 3 series coupes are about 5% off as is the Honda Accord Euro. 10% sounds like a bit much though
  12. Yeah great choice with the wheels. That pic from the back looks awesome too
  13. Thanks for the replies. Anyone want to share the cost of bringing Chris down? BIGGERDave maybe? xscape237 and danny_tq: Affirmative to both your questions...
  14. Seller claimed the car was mint, had never been in an accident and had done 20,000kms. The inspection report showed a lot of dodgily repaired panel work and the general wear and tear on the vehicle was much more than you would expect for a vehicle which had supposedly done only 20,000kms, even if servicing had been neglected. The vehicle inspector told me he didn't believe the odometer reading was genuine. I've worked out that this particular seller seems to sell a lot of V35's under different names. You can pick his ads.
  15. Hi all, I've been a member here for quite while but haven't really contributed much - mainly because I don't currently own a V35! Long story short I've loved these cars for a few years now and 18 months ago was a nasty pre-purchase inspection suprise away from buying a 2005 350GT premium pack sedan (full black leather etc.). Fortunately the inspection saved me some serious dough and oened my eyes to some real shiftiness. 18 months and a Honda Accord Euro later (brilliant car, just no guts), I decided to give into my urges and have put a deposit down on a 2003 premium pack coupe with a sunroof and what looks to be a DVD stacker in the boot. I have a pre-purhcase inspection scheduled for next week and I've got my fingers crossed that goes well. The dealer has said hey will fix any shortcomings identified by the inspection. All things going well I should have the car 2nd week of October (Has to be delivered from NSW to Melbourne) Anyway a couple of questions - Chris Rogers is obviously the man with the know how on the electrical/multimedia side of things, so I was wondering Chris, when will you be in Melbourne next? I'm looking at a sat nav install (Garmin GVN53 to factory screen), cruise control and ipod adaptor install. I would normally do the ipod adaptor myself but these cars look particularly complex to remove the dash panels especially for the untrained. Alternatively can anyone recommend anybody in Melbourne who has experience with these cars for the ipod adaptor and sat nav install? Thanks in advance. Can't wait to finally own one of these
  16. Hi guys, does anyone know what kind of interchangeability there is with the transmissions across the V35 range? I just noticed in the half cut thread, DRIFTT mentioned that the Z33 tranny is different enough to not work in a V35. What about the 5sp autos found in the 300GT and the coupe, are they the same? I noticed that reconditioned transmissions from G35s in the US go quite cheaply (AU$700 plus shipping). Would these work as a substitute in a 350GT-8 sedan? I read on G35Driver that Series 2 5sp autos do not work in Series 1 because of an auto shift at red line function in the tiptronic which was present in Series 1 but not in Series 2. Does this apply to JDM models?
  17. I don't know if this is the same problem you are experiencing but in this thread there is a similar problem and a solution for it: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/En...ml&hl=300gt
  18. Yeah it can be done no worries. It's a very common mod done by the guys on g35driver.com. I've seen a few series 1 V35's here with the series 2 lights as well.
  19. Hi guys, have been a member for a little while because I have been looking into getting a 350GT sedan. I was actually just a vehicle inspection away from buying a series 2 premium model, 5sp auto with full leather on the weekend but unfortunately I wasn't impressed with the results of the inspection and decided to keep my dough! I recently test drove a GT-8 and was impressed to say the least. Having read through the forums I came across the horror story of an experience that Kleenbeats had with his GT-8 but I don't think he ever posted whether or not the problem was fixed. I have called the service departments of a number of Nissan dealers here in Melbourne and they all confirmed that they either don't service these vehicles at all, or that they will do only the bare minimum mainly because Nissan Australia does not provide support for these vehicles. I just wanted to find out if anyone had any further info regarding these CVT's in relation to who can service/repair them and the cost of doing so. My heart is telling me to just go and buy one of these beauties but my mind is advising me make sure I have all bases covered especially in relation to the transmission. Any help is appreciated
