  1. Just to add to the previous post, any developments on when the Series 2 conversion may be ready?
  2. Paintwerks in Moorabbin may be a good option. Never had my car detailed there but I intend to one day. Had my lakeshore slate front bar sprayed there and they did a great job on the paint match considering it is not an easy colour to match. The bloke who runs the joint is an absolute paint buff, knows his stuff and detailing is part of their main business (more a paint specialist than a panel shop) Have heard of a place in the northern suburbs (have their own forum) but can't for the life of me think of what they are called. Plenty of guys on various forums swear by them too.
  3. ^ I have one lying around at the moment, I'm in Melbourne but could courier if you are willing. If you want details send me a PM. Cheers
  4. 19s all the way. The 19s on the 370GT look way better for starters. On my old V35 I had stock 18s on 45/18 rubber and I was initially suprised at how comfortable the ride was. My new V35 being a series 2 has the stock 19s on 40/19 rubber and to be honest I haven't felt all that much of a difference in ride comfort. The 19s look way better too IMO.
  5. ^Yeah I'm pretty sure the chrome lip was standard on all V36 models (coupe and sedan) and there is another body coloured lip type spoiler which can be fitted over the chrome. By the way, nice set of wheels
  6. I think you'll find that most major components ie. engine, transmission, gear box (non-CVT), suspension are no problem mainly because the car shares a platform with 350z and also common parts with other locally delivered models. There is plenty of information on these forums so if you want to know anything specific you will probably find what you are looking for here. Good luck Also given the high value of our dollar parts from the USA are also quite a viable option

    2010 F1 Season

You mean no more 'Trulli trains'? I give him some credit, he was a great qualifier. I remember him sticking a crappy Jordan on the front row at Monaco about 10 years ago and then holding up the entire field while Schuey raced off into the distance. He also had the better of Alonso over their season together at Renault in 2004. Alonso only overtook his points tally after Renault shunted Trulli out with a few races to go when they learned he had signed for Toyota. He would have kicked himself when Alonso won the title for Renault the next year. As for Red Bull, they have a brilliant car and Adrian Newey is a genius but their team management and reliability is 3rd rate and it will prob cost them. The moment things get tough (ie a little bit of rain) Red Bull will shoot themselves in the foot. Webber needs a nice dry quali and race. Good luck to him
  8. ^Diabolique - I was in the US a few weeks back and another reason why Beemers are so affordable is that they were offering 0.9% interest for the life of a loan... If that was the case here I would def consider a 335i Yeah I think the $70k mark would be realistic. I'm cringing to think how much the V/G coupes will cost when Infiniti hits Australia in a year or 2 (or 3), bearing in mind it is well and truly possible to privately import a base model V36 coupe for somewhere around $35k give or take at the moment. I recently had to replace my V35 after some fool didn't look where he was going. After the slightly inflated insurance value (agreed value was a good choice) I found myself tantalisingly close to having enough cash to import a V36. Unfortunately when I added up the cost of all the extras I would definitely want (ie the Chris Rogers treatment) I would have been blowing the budget out of the water. In the end I settled for a nice Series 2 V35 for an excellent price, could afford to have all the extras added and still have change from the insurance payout. Its been said many times before but V series coupes are brilliant value
  9. I had a chip repaired by RACV glass for $80. The guy who did the repair said if I needed a replacement windscreen they would have to import through Nissan as he wasn't aware of any aftermarket versions, and he said he wasn't sure how good any aftermarket windscreen for the V would be. Dodes who are you insured with? I don't think my insurance (Just Car) offers windscreen replacement.
  10. I've got stock suspension and stock 18s (45/18 rubber) and I imagine the experience is much similar to yours. The car is exceptionally smooth for what I would have expected. I have a Honda Accord Euro CL9 too which is lowered on Eibach Pro springs and Koni Yellow adjustable shocks with 40/18 rubber and the V35 is considerably smoother over bumps
  11. Yeah sorry, it did fix the squealing. Did a bit of a search on G35 Driver as well as a couple of 350Z forums and it appears to have been quite a common problem. Good luck
  12. I had the same problem. I had both my belts replaced a few months back but they didn't tighten them enough. Now that it is cold, until the belts get a bit of heat they start slipping causing the squealing. I took mine back to the dealer who changed the belts and got them to tighten them, which they did for free.
  13. If you're looking southeast then I've heard Dandenong Nissan are decent. Only 15 mins or so from Cheltenham/Mentone area. Having spoken to their service and parts departments before, their guys seemed familiar with the car at least unlike a couple of other dealers who didn't even know the car is NA. I got mine serviced at City Nissan in North Melbourne because I work in the city and I was pretty happy with what they did including replacing the drive belts for a reasonable price.
  14. My tank is definitely 80L. The most petrol I have ever put in is 76 litres
  15. I don't have a GT8 but I will add some positive feedback for City Nissan in Melbourne. Had my car serviced there and had the belts changed too for a pretty reasonable price. Also they were quite familiar with the V35 which was better than a number of other dealers. Good luck with getting your other 2 GT8 owners together for the oil change
  16. I get 600km easily with a lot of suburban running, some city, a little freeway but mostly short trips. I use BP Ultimate too and I think fuel economy is excellent without having to consciously think about driving frugally. With regard to insurance I pay about $1200 with Just Car for a 24 year old on Rating 1. In the 7 months I have owned the car I have never been pulled over by a cop because of the "type" of car it is. As for values, regardless of the V36 the prices of V35s are starting to drop quite dramatically (if you watch the auctions) mainly because the Aussie dollar is improving vastly against the Yen and also the V35 is getting old. The series 1 sedans are nearly 10 years old and the coupes are at least 7. That said the V series are incredible bang for buck. Try getting a 350z with the same level of creature comfort for the same price. Unrelated but noticed a V36 370GT coupe type SP for under $40k complied on the Prestige Motorsport website. Won't be long before we start seeing 36s around.
  17. Yeah $26k plus would be reasonable as a final price considering its a non-premium - although being a manual and non-silver will prob work in your favour. I bought mine for $27k plus on roads nearly 6 months ago. I originally wanted one around 2007/2008 but couldn't afford it at the time as S1 coupes were $35-40K back then. Anyway there are more and more of them coming into the country at the moment and prices seem to be falling fast. If I were thinking of selling I would be doing it asap. Good luck
  18. Don't know if its just me but I couldn't view the video. First it asked me to sign in, which I did, but then it says the video is private. Is it a double din type system or does it work with the factory pop up screen?
  19. Spotted a grey V36 coupe on Australia Day at about 12.15 in the arvo at the "Spaghetti Junction" (ie Springvale Rd/Princes Hwy/Police Rd/Centre Rd intersection). First time I've seen a V36 in Melbourne so I was quite excited!
  20. ^Haha I agree with that. That Royal Parade roundabout can be seriously scary. Even if you know what your doing, chances are 50% of others don't!!! Spotted a silver V with black 5 spoke rims parked outside Nandos at Parkmore shopping centre in Keysborough on Monday night.
  21. I usually get anywhere between 7 km/l to 8.5 km/l depending on traffic. Most of my driving is either short trips in the burbs or the 25km commute to work and back in just (barely) pre-peak hour Melbourne traffic. Taking the car on a nice long trip this coming weekend so I look forward to seeing how I go with economy. Will finally get to put that cruise control that Chris Rogers did for me to good use use
  22. Thanks for the replies guys. Will be following up with the dealer shortly. They were pretty good to deal with when buying the car and rectifying a few things after a pre purchase inspection so hopefully there will be no hassles with this.
