Having looked at the market for V35s at the moment and bearing in mind the costs to personally import one nowadays I think I have set a reasonable price with a bit of room to move. Wingnut - I'm selling because I have upgraded to something a little more practical i.e. has 2 extra doors. Have absolutely loved the V35. I bought a 2003 model originally in 2008. Back then they were the best bang for buck sports coupe going round and still are IMO. Sonicii - the series 3 front bar (2006-07) is a bit more aggressive looking than what was on the series 1 and 2. The tail lights were also redesigned with a contoured look, the reverse lights are smaller and no longer circular and there is a boot release on the left tail light (needs to be wired). The rear spoiler is sleaker IMO and doesn't protrude over the side edges of the boot.

Hi all, Up for sale is my model year 2005 (Nov 2004 build) series 2 V35 Skyline coupe premium model with updated interior. Currently has 77,700kms on the clock. The car was imported orginally in 2008 and full Australian service history is available. It would have to be the best equipped V35 for sale in the country. I have owned the car for nearly 4 years and have made a number of upgrades to the car, many using genuine OEM factory parts. Quick summary of its features; - Sunroof - Garmin Australian GPS through the factory screen - OEM factory mounted cruise control on the steering wheel - Factory optioned Fujitsubo Legalis exhaust - Series 3 projector bi-xenon headlights - Series 3 front bar - Series 3 LED tail lights - Series 3 rear spoiler - OEM Rays 19" forged wheels - 3 keys (2 w/ remote and 1 valet key) The rear bar has a vertical scratch on the right hand side and there is also a scratch on the underside of the left sideskirt. I am willing to factor the cost of repair (approx $600) into negotiations. Hi guys, Wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a workshop where they would be willing to do some headlight modifications - namely replacing/modifying a projector. I have spoken to a few different places and they all tell me they either only do plastic repairs, won't open up a headlight or just flat out won't do it at all. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

^Nope take a look at carsales.com.au and you'll see a lot of series 1 models for that sort of price and cheaper.... The fact is these cars are getting cheaper and cheaper - I ran a search on J-Spec's website using the auction prices feature, filtering down to only 2006 and 2007 series 3 coupes and got an average 'landed and complied' price of $26,000 for cars hich have been auctioned in recent months. Factor in on-roads and you'd still be looking at under $28k for a series 3. As Nightcrawler said you will want to get a thorough mechanical check done, there is every chance the KMs are not genuine - unless you have the Jap service records or get sound mechanical advice saying otherwise. A couple of good indications of whether the kms are genuine or not include checking the drive belts for cracks (they should start showing cracks at around about 50,000kms), checking the in-cabin air filter (it may have a sticker on it telling you how many kms the car had done when it was last changed!), check for rust on the underbody, wear and tear on the upholstery etc... Not wanting to burst your bubble but I'm speaking from experience. My first V35 which is no longer in the land of the living (accident not mechanical problems!) was a 2003 and the kms were most likely not genuine, but that said mechanical and my own visual inspections still left me satisfied it was still in very good condition. I've had gutter rash fixed and a wheel re-painted at Advanced Alloys in Moorabbin. Set me back $140 but that was a couple of years ago at least. No peeling or flaking so I was happy with the job they did and the colour match was great too. A couple of other places told me they could not guarantee the colour match so would need to repaint all 4 wheels (sounded like a rip-off to me considering the wheel was hyper silver), which was not an option for me. I've read that some people haven't been too happy with the work of Advanced Alloys but in my experience they did a good job. Good luck

Was in Box Hill this evening and saw 2 white V35 coupes - one on 17" stockies and another dumped on some blackish grey rims. Also saw a bluey grey V36 coupe. I should visit Box Hill more often!

Yeah the CVT on the 350GT-8 uses transmission oil which isn't far off being liquid gold. $2000 may be either a bit of an exaggeration or over priced. Selling the car for $4k has obviously cost more than $2k on a proper tranny service

^I've never heard of VDC being retrofitted. I imagine it would be incredibly complex and expensive if possible. You're talking about sensors on each wheel of the car, ECU programming etc. Probably cheaper to buy a car that has it already... The snow button is literally for driving in the snow. I believe turning it on changes the engine mapping and power delivery to suit such conditions, although I have read it is certainly not recommendable to turn it on in normal circumstances. Call me boring but I've never had the urge to flick the snow switch in my coupe.

From my recollection the 300GT (and 250GT) did not come with VDC. Only the 350GT-8 and possibly the 350GT 6spd. The 300GT may have traction control only? Even the Series 2 V35 sedans only featured VDC in the 350GT-8 while the standard auto only had traction control. Little bit strange I thought, along with the decision to make only front airbags standard in the sedans when curtain and sides are standard fare in the coupes. Even the V36 sedans only have front airbags standard which to me is a big turn off for a car costing decent dough

^I reckon it depends on whether you find someone who wants a set bad enough.... I used to have a series 1 V35 coupe with the 18 inch wheels and really wanted to upgrade the wheels to the Rays 19s because I loved how they looked (although the offset is a bit weak). Looked around here for months to no avail and in the end settled on purchasing a set either off Import Monster through the Japanese auctions or from the US via ebay or G35 Driver. Price shipped here was going to be around $1200 without tyres or about $1700 with. Had my eye on a set on Import Monster but a couple of days before I was going to place a bid my car got hit and written off. Bought a series 2 which already had the 19s as my replacement. I guess the moral of my story is that there are probably people out there who prefer the stock look and/or really like the Rays who don't have any other realistic alternative to get a set of those wheels for anything less than the prices I mentioned. Good luck if you choose to sell By the way it seems pretty common for guys in the US to put the Rays 19s on Z33s. Looks good too. May be worth exploring selling on the Oz Z forums too

Maybe just my bias but I reckon the V36/G37 looks a hell of a lot classier. Hyundai has certainly come along way from the little Excels and Sonatas in the 90s but the Genesis coupe still looks very Tiburon to me. Interestingly I have read and watched a number of road test comparisons between the 2 cars and the reviewers tend to agree that the V36/G37 is undoubtedly a better package but the Genesis is unbeatable bang for buck...

My 2 cents: I've found my V35 to be quite conservative with its low fuel warnings. For example the low fuel light comes on when I still have 20 litres left in the tank (60 used) and I have usually done 430-450kms. The range til empty on the trip computer will go zero when I still have approximately 10 litres left and have usually covered 500-550kms. Most I have ever filled up was 74 litres.The V36 might be similar in that aspect - might explain why you think your economy is low, when there is still a fair reserve of petrol in the tank. As has been mentioned best way is to calculate it yourself when you fill up, although I have found the V35 trip computer to be fairly accurate. Considering advancements in technology and claimed consumption I would certainly have thought the VQ37HR would be at least a little better on fuel than the old VQ35DE.

Hi folks, Got a few items for sale. Will add pics as soon as I can. Items are located in SE suburbs of Melbourne and I would prefer any buyer to be able to pick up. However if you have problems with being able to pick up the bulkier item/s (mainly bumper bar) I could be able to bring it to you depending on your proximity to where I'm located. Could also bring the rear spoiler and tail lights into the city to meet a buyer during the week. ITEM 1 Front bumper - Lakeshore slate in colour and came off a 2005 V35 coupe. In VGC with no deep scratches and dents only minor stone chips etc. $320. ITEM 2 Rear spoiler - Lakeshore slate in colour and again came off a 2005 V35 coupe. The spoiler is the "ironboard" style which came with the aero package on the series 1 and series 2 coupes. It is in pretty good condition with no major scratches or dents. Brake light was in perfect working order when the spoiler was last in 'operation' (approx 2 weeks ago). $120 ITEM 3 Tail lights series 1 & 2 style - again came off my 2005 coupe. In good condition and perfect working order. There is a partially broken plastic bracket on one of the lights and another smaller part which has broken off - nothing that a bit of super glue can't fix. Will be gluing it back together prior to selling. Pics will illustrate the minor nature of this when I put them up. $200 If you have any questions feel free to PM me. ^I took my car to Nuwan at Import Revolution in Bayswater last time I had it serviced and can vouch for the fact that he does know his V series. There were a couple of other non-mechanical things I had done which could have been done better but overall he does know the cars really well - which is comforting when you consider that most mechanics have no idea. Plus his pricing was good, significantly cheaper than a dealer. I'll most likely be going back there for my next service. I've also had my car serviced at City Nissan a couple of times before (in North Melbourne) which is convenient if you work in the CBD.

Autobarn and Bursons also apparently stock the K&N according to the K&N website http://www.knfilters.com/search/dealersearch.aspx I've been looking at upgrading my OEM filter too and have come down to either K&N or Apexi. Think I will go with Apexi mainly because it is a 'dry' filter. Apparently if a K&N (or any other 'wet' filter for that matter) is excessively oiled it can mess with the mass airflow sensor. My previous experiences with VQ series engines tells me to keep away from anything that will mess with MAF and throttlebody. That said if you maintain a 'wet' filter correctly there shouldn't be any dramas.
