Thinking Of Upgrading To A Newer Car
GTR-32U replied to R33GOD's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I know I am gonna sound a little different here but here goes....Ever considered a Toyota chaser or an Aristo ? yes they are not local however they can be stupidly fast and still look like an ordinary sedan.. thats what I would be buying for that sort of coin -
Thinking Of Upgrading To A Newer Car
GTR-32U replied to R33GOD's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I too have heard really bad reports of the diffs having dramas...And this coming from a mechanic who works for Ford... -
I had the exact same problem, this could just be the boost controller ( hopefully ) how I fixed it was mounting it with insulation in between.Shudder sounds like warped brake rotors...but that would be the least of my concerns
-
well said...the money GTST owners want is a bit optimistic...They are are getting old and smokey these days...R33s are still a bit fresher or bite the bullet and go the GTR for me
-
I would first try removing the BOV and replacing it with a peice of metal to block it off just to see whether that is leaking...The turbo...is it new , 2nd hand ? some people do like to exaggerate the specs of the turbos they got...but I would assume if its got so much lag down low it should pull harder toward the top end of the spectrum....tough one to figure...good luck

Collapsed Piston Skirts After Head Gasket Failure.
GTR-32U replied to Shaun's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
please PM me and let me know who your tuner was...Any experienced tuner worth his salt should have picked that sort of detonation long before it eventuated into that. And on a run in tune ??? what the hell was he thinking ? Run in tune is supposed to be very ,VERY delicate basically setting the fuel so its not really rich but more importantly keeping ignition advance relatively low so you are able to load the engine ( ie 4 heavy guys in top gear going up a hill ) this is the best way to bed the rings in...Sorry to hear about this as your hard earned cash has been totally blown to smithereens by someone who should know better... -
dude seriously I have been playin with car audio for maybe 12 or 13 yrs and to be honest I have never liked the sound from 6x9's. I am sure that there are some that sound good but if it were up to me I would be picking a pair of 6 inch splits every time. If you need more bass then add a 10 or 12 inch sub.The bass from 6x9's is never as good.It really depends on how much you want to spend. With the car you got I would go the best myself...I used Boston Accoustics and I swear by them..Precision power amps are so clean also...I got one for sale on Ebay at the moment but maybe too big for what you need.....cheers

Hoons Cars Will Be Destroyed And Footage Will Be Shown
GTR-32U replied to Auto Group Buy's topic in New South Wales
Yes I see this as being a really stupid ( America does this so we should too ) type idea...Like the USA should be any example of law enforcement. Its kind of the case of wipe away the spider web but leave the spider.destroying cars isnt going to accomplish anything. They will just get another car and do the same or most likely get a car on finance so if its destroyed...finance companies problem..Any car can do burn outs, speed and street race.Be honest, how many times has some D**khead pulled up next to you at the lights in a peice of sh*t Hyundai Excel with bog stock engine and Monster tacho and then tried to race you...??? Just because a car is modified doesnt always mean they are racers...look at HSV's and the like..., factory standard cars that are running 13s etc......The real solution is this... Having spent some time in Europe at the local soccer games, I always made sure I sat where the hooligans did.Purely for extra entertainment. And when trouble erupted the police were there with video cameras galore getting facial shots of offenders and the strife they were causing...Come next match day when they tried to enter the game there face appears on a central register and police arrive to take them away Get these racers on camera racing, not just some burn at the lights, I mean those illegal organised race meets. Then once the evidence is there....Jail time....no ifs or buts -
wow finally somebody who is actually talking some sense...because the Bullshit meter has been off the clock for some time...

before you spend the money on coil packs make sure it is the coilpacks first... as it sounds more like a blocked fuel filter to me.I had my coil packs go on me and the symptoms were a little different.when mine went it was great until you had been driving for about half hour, then it would start spluttering and misfiring under harse acceleration. It did it less when the weather was hot but missed a lot in cold weather...hope that helps.
-
ouch sorry to hear and see that one dude...However a decent panel shop will make short work out of that one...once all the damaged panels come off they can start work straightening it all out...you would be hard pressed to know if it ever had a hit.front enders are always more favourable than rear enders...chassis always twists in a rear ender...cars drive like a crab
-
funny that as in my old R32 GTS4 i used to own there was this one stretch of rd right near blakehurst where everytime I drove over one particular spot of rd the car would midly step sideways and correct itself very quickly.Very rarely did it anywhere else but always on this one spot...at 80kmh its not very confidence inspiring

dont wate your cash on the house. It will depress the hell out of you seeing all your hard earned cash blown on a house.Wait till your married for that...why should girls have it all easy ? I would go the NA supra...its probably the quickest of the bunch and with very little visual differences fro m the turbo RZ

I will soon be buying an R32 GTR early next year.Having owned a GTS for a few years I can say this.If all you want is a fast skyline then go the tidy R34 every time. But if R32 is the only thing you will settle for ( like me ) then be prepared that every single component may eventually need to be replaced..maybe not straight away but theres no denying the age of the R32 any car will need to be rebuilt at this age...Doesnt matter whether its Porsche or Ferrari
-
I would be buying the one with the original engine as opposed to a rebuilt one.My reasons are as follows.Having had engines built in the past believe me very few engine reconditioners ever do a good job.they quote you parts but leave many standard things in there so it will die again in 12 months.Think of it this way...why would somebody pay top dollar for a GTR and then spend 6 grand or so for reco engine and only a few months later sell the car for peanuts....??? it would be a total loss...if they are so cash stricken now they should of sold the car with stuffed engine for cheap at least they wouldnt be that much outta pocket.I am in the slow process of learning to blueprint engines...lots of reading up to do...its really a very sensitive thing an engine wrong tolerances here and there and you got an engine with bad comp and drinks oil. Or reverse case scenario too tight and overheating, bad oil pressure. I would recommend one of those books from some of the auto stores.." guide to engine blueprinting " it really explains it all in details
-
I would be getting the car on the dyno and try and replicate the conditions...with summer coming hot now timing would be perfect.Maybe a HKS twin power ignition module may be required...But for the level of tuning you have I wouldnt have thought so....go the dyno dude
-
I had a Greddy profec 2 spec B and it was a great little unit..easy to hide out of view as well

Thinking Of Moving To Campbelltown From The Uk
GTR-32U replied to shane 01782's topic in New South Wales
i lived in the liverpool area for 25 yrs...Cambelltown is a bit of a lottery, reaaly good in some places...total shithole in others....find out from locals where to be and not to be before making that move....but i would be moving a little closer toward sydney as Cambelltown is a bit of a travel.. -
Actually you are incorrect on that one.Factory HRT in VN Group A was making 560 hp revving to 8500 rpm.in the end it was allowed to race at1200- 1250 however people were struggling to get it that light. The top sierras were making lots more than 500 hp..I believe Dick johnsons was making 580 hp at 1200kg...however those weights did vary as each year CAMS penalised and helped certain maufacturers

Rb20 Vs Rb25 Air Conditioning Compressor?
GTR-32U replied to yogibear's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
before you start fitting AC compressors look on the back if its designed for r12 or r134a gas.An R32 I imagine would be for the R12 due to its age ( correct me if I am wrong anybody ). I would be chasing up the compressor that runs R134a as you cannot buy R12 anywhere.R134a compressors run at higher pressures, Ac would still work ok I guess with the older compressor but the newer compressors work better..I am doing the same conversion right now in an AE92 corolla...bought a compressor from the 20 valve blacktop..Just shopping around now for newer condensor...good luck -

Pros & Cons For R32, Z32 & S13. Any Help?

Pros & Cons For R32, Z32 & S13. Any Help?
GTR-32U replied to 2TONED's topic in General Automotive Discussion
If your talkin R32 GTST about the only con I can say for that car is the fact as its only 2ltr it really lacks low down power...below 3000 rpm is pretty ordinary, but hold on once the revs are there. As prior to owning that I had a superchrged VN Commodore which had bagloads of lowdown urge.Good cars and very reliable. As for the 300, if its the twin turbo your talkin about...trust me there aint no shortage of power there, only problem with them is they really suffer from engine bay heat and they are a real nighmare to work on.Go take a look under the hood of one and you will be in for the shock of your life. -
Is My Clutch Master Cylinder Stuffed?
GTR-32U replied to stuartlaw_78's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
check the pedal box as well as mine broke on me also...they are pretty tacky things just spot welded together. You will be able to examine that if you lie on drivers side floor with your head right where the pedals are you will be able to see the pedal box and how its bolted to the firewall.Get down there and work the pedal with your hand and see if the metal fram of the pedal box moves excessively...If its stuffed they are preety easy to change if you got a socket set...But a new pedal box you will only get from a jap importer...Hope that helps!!!! -
Is My Clutch Master Cylinder Stuffed?
GTR-32U replied to stuartlaw_78's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I had the same problem with my old R32, And it was the clutch master cylinder.Once we emptied it out it was full of shit and it wasnt functioning properly. However its not a major job to pull out and off memory the master cylinder is identical to one of the Nissans sold here as I was able to exchange it for a reco one...I am pretty sure it was either a Nissan Navara or 300 zx....I think they are all the same..And it was surprisingly cheapBest way is to whip it off and run it over to a place in your area that specialises in them..they will quickly find a match
