Help Me Defend The Skyline Pride

Well I think this issue has become side tracked just a bit( Lot ! )But the only thing I recommend to the dude who originally started this post is what I said earlier.Get down to a track day and learn how to get quicker. Then flog his ass at the track. So what if his car is faster- doesnt mean he will lap faster than you.All the more glory for you when you spank him on the track -
yes I can vouch for that one..Its an old mechanics trick that works...poor bastards are usually slugged $ for it.
-
I love that avatar photo.......hypnotising
-
One thing you have to keep in mind is that 33s can take a fair amount of tyre. 255 no problem. Sure you can spin them but the car is gonna haul ass regardless
-
have you tried Tempe or ozzy tires ? You can always get good prices from those guys..But man is it always busy....Pain in the ass trying to park near Tempe ...
-
tried ebay ? They got some at good prices all the time
-
tried TNT ? they are pretty good..maybe AFFT as well
-
ok lets use my theory then...If that happened as sad and at a loss It would be..It could be the result of many things that are not intentional....The person driving like a maniac never intends to deliberately hit and kill someone. However these clowns had the intent. When you rob somebody with a weapon then obviously you are prepared to use it. Think this is the first time they have committed this crime ? Not a chance-these guys aint no alter boys. They were prepared to kill for that car otherwise they would not have needed the knife

Much what I was thinking...Supra is definately the better car than a GTST...GTR is my idol however...But I still wanna see supras doin quick circuit times...Their drag times and engine power impress the hell out of me..Why doesnt anybody circuit race them ? -
+ 1...What if these morons robbed your wife or mother for her car...what if they even stabbed her for it ?...Make fertilizer out of them...feed those hungry bugs and earthworms
-
Sorry but thats a really lousy comparison..These guys robbed the guy at knifepoint for his car...Bit different than somebody just driving silly
-
mate just do as I do..When they follow you pull into McDonalds drive through or maybe a servo..Put some fuel in, Wash and wipe all the windows on the car lift the bonnet top up your battery, check your oil levels and washer bottle and start fart assing around, put some air in your tires make a phone call or 2 while you are there...Watch how bored they become and leave you alone
-
I used to drive around with mine on too.One day the copper let me off for having them on.I never knew it was an offence to have them on in normal night conditions..But according to him they were...Can anybody clarify if it is indeed an offence to have them on at night ? Copper may have been bullshitting me

hey if I won Lotto it would definately be high on my car list...Unfortunately they are just not practical if it means you need to transport more than one passenger.Great playtoy though -
I had a GTS4 with an HKS 2510 on it....yeah it went really good...but I am told that the 2530 is the ducks guts....Mine ran sweet on 1bar...Just wish the engine made more low end as not much there until 3500 rpm....hope that helps
-
Your just lucky he didnt fine you for having the driving lights on...As far as I am aware they are only to be used in Fog conditions

ahhh thank you for correcting me on that one...7M motors are the common model here..But yes I do recall seeing the same model with the 1JZ motor as standard...Very few of them here surprisingly..Dont know why...great cars -

While I will never dispute the fact that the Supra is a far superior car than a GTST..My debate now centres on the whole handling and braking comparison..I have been to Wakefield several times and witnessed R33'/R34's GTST / GTT cutting some pretty quick lap times..In fact after speaking with these guys some of them seem to believe the GTST handles better than the GTR on the tight circuits ( I am not convinced however ) due to the fact the front/rear weight balance is superior due to the 4wd not being their.Adding to the fact the car is somewhat lighter also. However I am very sceptical of this claim...I still have yet to see the Supra that can cut fast lap times around Wakefield...Does anybody know of any ? As most of them seem to be Dyno queens not track attack cars....Well can anybody more experienced in the circuit racing thing quote me any fast supras...Lap times etc ? -

Yes I realise that...however the dummy he is gonna race doesnt have to know about the coil overs and sway bars...or even the change in brake fluid and pads...As for modified...Hard to call as I have never seen a street supra cut fast laps around a tight circuit like wakefield..However I have seen some GTST's Which really did impress me -
I understand your point about the smoothness part of it all. However the term seems to be only used in a race scenario when upshifting fast is required...The only technique which I have used effectively ( And has a very, very small Gain ) is when upshifting fast pull out of gear without pressing the clutch and just a quick stab on the clutch while shifting up ( tearing gearstick outta the box style )...As for Downshifting for overtaking etc...Whilst foot flat on the accelerator press clutch and downshift without taking foot off the accelerator at all...If its done fast ( must be done fast ) it helps..specially in a laggy turbo car ( RB20 )

heres what you do...Set your skyline up for circuit work..coil overs, sway bars and better brake fluid-pads etc.And also a mild boost up and exhaust etc. While you may not match him in straightline speed...Handling and braking I would tip the Skyline to have the advantage..get down to a circuit like wakefield where horsepower isnt as critical as handling and braking...Spend some time learning how to drive fast on a circuit...As you progress...one day just pop the question to him ( No not that question )...Tell him that you wanna race him...Not on the street as its dangerous and illegal..Howabout we both have a try at your track of choice...Now to him you would seem as inexperienced as he is....Get on the track and layeth the smacketh down...!!! -
I would have went past and given him the loudest NELSON laugh I could...HA HA
