Many thanks for the help Gary. I really do appreciate the help and advise you have given in getting this car to be driving so nicely. Cheers Andy

Stage 2 of the suspension upgrade was done over the weekend and has been a huge success. I have installed a set of Bilstein springs and shock that lower the car around 25-30mm at mximum. The results of the upgrade are fantastic although the actual job is quite complicated and difficult. The ride with up graded swaybars and the new shocks is quite different to previous ride. The shocks removed had mostly had it so rebound control was bad. The ride now at 30 - 40 kmh is quite firm and you feel most bumps but not bone jarring by any meams. Once a little more speed is up the ride is great, smooth over bumps with lot of boddy control and able to place the car on the road just where you want. The drop in height drastically changes the look of the wheels in the wheel arch and is noticable when driving the car. Not quite the SUV any more. I will post up some photo's and details of the suspension fitted tomorrow. Cheers Andy

Sounds like the right idea. Sounds like the computer is not picking up the gear selector and will not let the car start unless it is in D. Cheers Andy

Hi Chis I have been advised that this system may be a possibility. I understand that the system has been coverted on the V35 up to 11/2005. We are looking at a July / August time line for the conversion. I will keep you posted on the progress. Cheers Andy

Have a look at the attached link. This unit should work with the M35. Appears to be perfectly compatible. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/St....html&hl=tv, Cheers Andy

I made my own cold air intake for the M35 today like fitted to the V35. Not sure what sort of power gain is avieved by this mod but it feels better higher in the rev range (not so breathless) and certainly sounds a bit better. I just need to fit some foam infront of the air box (see arrow on 2nd photo) to avoid any hot air creeping into the air box. It is made of L shape extruded plastic from Bunnings and automotive seal bought from Clark Rubber. Cost, less than $20 and a bit of time.

The commercial reality is that any smart business will look to maximise profit. I was reading the Wheels last night and it quoted the Australian head as saying "the Nissan GTR will command a price of $160'000". That confirms the Nissan has no interest in parity of pricing with other market but is purley interested in achieving the greatest possible result. There is a second economic reality that Nissan are ignoring and that is if you do not set prices with parity ot other market there will be Grey imports. NO consumer in their right mind will pay more for any good if it does not have perceived value. When Japan can sell a GTR for $80'000 that same car will sell for $160'000 (there may be some differences). Most consumers with that sort of coin in their pocket have it because they are good business people. These people will look to pay the least amount for any service or good they buy. I think most people could justify a price 30-40% higher than Japan but 100% higher is just greed and peserves no respect. It shows little reguard for the consumer and treats them with contempt. Perhaps this is why Nissan as a global company are in such a bad way??

Drop Ur Bonnet? Or Press Ur Bonnet?
andy65b replied to 1R34SON's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Drop it!!!! but only from a few inches up. -
I emailed them last week trying to get an idea of when it may be available but they were thinking that because not a lot of people on the forum have shwn interest that it may not be commercially viable for them. I sent them further infortation to explain that there is a much bigger market beyond this forum. I have not heard back in the last 7 days since this email was sent. I am hoing they are just away and will come back to me soon about whan and how it will be possible. As soon as I have some more information I will post it. Cheers Andy

Hi Murray Car is going really well. Just had new sway bars fitted and new bilstein springs and shocks go in next week. Can't wait. I got it through North Shore Prestige. The car is pretty much stock but for the suspension upgrades. How did you go with the towbar? Cheers Andy

Hi Chris How many people do you think would want to convert to from Jap to english of the version we are talking about? I need to get some numbers to ensure this project happens. Cheers Andy
-
I could spend the whole night in the car jst trying to work out all the options on the TV and trying to find anymore surprises My TV actually picks up really good audio from free to air channels but no pics obviously...is this normal? I would have thought they would not pick up anything at all. Anyways...below are some pics that were sent to me by the dealer before I took possesion. Will post more once I give it a good clean! The third pic is the same color, model but with the front lip which I will get in the near future... Anyone have a translation of all the options in the and settings for the screen? Are all the menu's in Japanese as per the rest of us? I have been talking with a company that is able to convert the screens to english but we are going to make sure there are enough people who want the conversion to make it worth while for them to do the conversion. I have a demo version on my car that covers the main menu and it is awesome. Cheers Andy

The K&N filter that fits is 33-2031-2. Cheers Andy

I better check with Fedor to see how that conversion to english is going!

Yes it will, same part number see above. Cheers Andy

I haven't had a chance to contact Nissan and probably won't tomorrow either. Any chance you could give them a call? It is called a Powerbox (part No 16500X) needs the same stud the secures the current cover to hold it into place. If you can do this, can you also check the price of the stud (16528F) Cheers Andy
-
You are right. the V35 & M35 have the same part number. They are, Back of airbox 16526, front of airbox 16528, + filter required. Cheers Andy
