  1. Busted to clarify. My idea was to have a show and shine in the Oran park carpark. There is a carpark at this location which is only ever about 20% full when track days are being run. At the south side of this carpark there is enough room for 200-300 cars. Yes the show cars can park here and be judged and viewed. On the north side of the same car park, is 60-70 garages, show cars that want to go for a drive can stay up the top to ensure they stay part of the show, but also get access to the track. The 100% track day cars can use the east side of the garages and stay out of the show's way. So to answer you question, no its not a 100% track day.
  2. Busted, in addition, I think your comments are way out of line. I dont know if you have ever meet me but next time we are at an event come for a chat and you will soon understand I dont think anyone is beneath me!
  3. Busted, I think you missed the point. It’s a free car park with toilet facilities in the Sydney area, with access control points. Charge admission if you want to make money, but I was providing a solution to the constructive ideas that have come forward from the last SNS day. 1. Sydney based day would ensure more cars and more people. 2. Grass is not the best surface for show cars. 3. Finding a host that will allow a car park fully of modified cars. As a bonus people will get a chance to drive their performance car in a safe surrounding and spectators get to see some of the cars at full noise. By the way the southern car park is huge and will accommodate heaps of show cars. I actually got the idea from the 2005 auto salon which was at eastern creek.
  4. UAS insurance covers the track and the area around the track, standard when you hire it for track days!
  5. The NUR Blue one is for sale at the moment, he was at the show and shine. Its just a normal vspecII with the plates and sticker!
  6. All, I was at UAS chatting with John and Merli on Saturday. I have a great idea for next year. OK, I know the perfect venue, its Sydney Based, where there is ample hard surface parking for both participants and spectators, it has access control points, toilets and there is no problem with having a huge number of modified cars. ORAN PARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I suggest next year we get UAS to secure a track day at Oran Park. We use the southern car park for the Show Cars. Show & Track cars can stay up the western top side in the garages, and straight track cars can stay at the east garages near the marshal point. The general public can park outside on the grounds and we can call it the. Show and Go! People can not only see the cars in the Show but also watch them at work on the track. I can see this would be a great venue and we should get heaps of people and cars with the Sydney based location. I thought UAS could offer $30/session for the once off driver who gets the urge. I think this has the potential to make it huge. We will need additional people on the day to police and control access points. But I think it is a sound idea What do you think?
  7. Liz, Sorry I missed you I took an old friend from WA for a little squirt. He had to change his underwear by the time we got back. He is going to sell his '02 STI and buy an R34, yet another one converted.
  8. Merli, From what I read about last years Show you might have been right, but this year the number were doubled and so had the quality. The R32's this year I believe ruled the day. But there were still heaps of interest in all other groups. I still think its a good idea and who ever does it next year will have the hard task of making it better.
  9. I took the joke on board and was only two min late in requeting a specific VSPECII catagory!
  10. I would make the judging easier my grouping the cars. For example when the cars were being parked. R34 GTR's are located all together, R34 GTT etc etc. This will allow catagory by catagory to be done quickly. The sub total of exterior etc etc can then be pulled out. I think this will also allow people to get some great pics as well
  11. I think another one mentioned several times would be "Best Skyline Factory example"! This will cater for the non modified original cars.
  12. My boy loves the GTR, he learnt at an early age to say GO GO GO! A baby seat is a baby seat reguardless of which car it sits in boot room is the only issue. I did not let the boy ride in the GTR until 7 months when he had strong head control, I was affraid the suspension was a little too hard, I did not want to shake his head off. He does love the GTR and it already has a preference over the wifes ford!
  13. Im sure the safe and sound car seat did make a point about it being a daily driver. The UAS track CD in the window may also have helped to let them know it was a track car as well!
  14. Abo, as you stated, the fact you knew the car was probably a disadvantage. Oh and by the way "Your car looked so Clean" Ha HA!
  15. GTR32X, I was not sure which category you were pointing the issue at, but if it is the R34 GTR I agree, I thought that CYIFLY was well deserved as the best R34 at show. Please see my comments in the wrap up thread. I have even asked to see the score cards to see what I had that gave me the points. I suggest it will be the Mods that separated the score. I clearly displayed my mods list and supplied a dyno run. I think CYIFLY has just as much go fast gear but I dont think is was advertised or captured to highlight it to the judges. As a side note I did not know any of the judges who looked at my car? To be honest they looked un interested in the car and the win was a surprise. The score cards will show their opinions and differences in the cars.
  16. Yep, Im the big 34 driving a R34, and yes I owned a R33 at 33 years as well! No 32 though sorry
  17. Moanie, Yeah that's my little boy Bailey, he is 17 months old going on 17 years! He is a treasure that boy, his nick name is Sir Laughalot! he is the best! We think we love our cars, its not until you have a baby until you appreciate true love!
  18. Mintie, Woooow there big fella, fatz is just talking out his a$$ as he always does, I guess his message is clear, do it on the track not on the roads. You two need to kiss and make up. Mintie, you have a chance here to pick up a discounted drift day where you can really let go with your car and have some serious fun that will cost a lot less then your speeding ticket. Fatz, As above, your a spanka, let the boys speed if they want, but they understand the outcome so its cool. In reality when was the last time we had that 1 beer extra that probably put us over the limit, everyone is guilty of something at some time. Be cool everyone!
  19. Merli, Yes I gave them a big wrap and discussed the number of cars and general public were there. I know how important it is to show the sponsors what they get out of it.
  20. I just spoke to them. Im booked in, at Oran Park GP 22nd Nov 05 unless they can grab a cancelled date at the creek. Kabab with cheese, the Aaron Phase 3 day sounds the same as a UAS day, no real formal instruction, but instructors on hand if needed.
  21. This was my first try, its got little to no contact info with no other links.
  22. Thanks for the number adam!
  23. Done, we might have a get together with the old team track day. I will send some PM's
  24. Merli or any of the organisers, I have just spent 10 min on yahoo and google and could not find any ref to the Driver training day with Aaron Mcgill. Can you send me a contact number I to call and discuss?
  25. when you have some time you should pop round, we can enjoy one (at a time) and play some stick. Your still working? if yes perhaps friday night? I will have to check with the minister of entertainment and finance!
