Willowbank Safety Reqs To run at these events you need: Requirements for a car * helmet to Standard * long sleeve shirt * long pants * covered shoes Requirements for a bike * helmet to standard * leather jacket or equivalent * long pants * boots & gloves Special note: * Cars can not run quicker than 11.00 sec * Bikes can not run quicker than 10.00 sec * To run quicker than these you will need an ANDRA licence All helmets need to be less than 12 years old from Date of Manufacture AND meet one of the following Standards: SNELL SA2000 SNELL SA2005 SNELL 2000 / 2005 SNELL M2000 SNELL M2005 BS 6658-1985 SFI 41.2A SFI 31.2A AS/NZ 1698:2006 is the current requirements.. also alot of people think the helemts with "AS 1698" is the same as "AS/NZ 1698:2006" and its not, their two different classifications. 13 January 2009 - The helmet regulations have changed, any ANDRA licenced holder is to abide by the current ANDRA rule book at any event. At Test'n'Tunes and Street Series events we will be allowing street vehicles (i.e - non ANDRA licence holders) to still use the AS1698 standard helmet.
  3. Uprated Pads=more brake bite+heavy braking foot= tyre squeal try practicing slightly less hard entry braking & try trail braking perhaps Standard brakes are pretty good but after 3-4 hard laps you will get fade & fluid boiling especially with an upgraded pad. A cooling kit will give you a bit of lee-way but any changes to suspension & tyres above what you already have will give you more grief as higher top speed at fastest part of track but you still got to slow for the next corner so more heat. If you are doing the house thing & aint keeping the car dont do anything more than the ducting kit. Just Buy your dream car & Spend all your hard earned on that
  4. What ever you use the secret is making sure both faces are thoroughly cleaned before hand. Afterward the applying of silicon/Gasket goo & Gasket to a cleaned surface quickly regardless if its made of gasket paper or bought off the shelf. Old man is a mechanic & he has rolls of varying thickness's in a cupboard in the garage. Never actually bought paper gaskets for years-we do it the stencil & cut it urself way & always have. Just make sure you use similar thickness paper to what you remove. ps great thread. ppss any of those who are worried about possible torque response loss should use a lightened flywheel when they upgrade their clutch.
  5. RB25Det NEO Engine/GBox/ECU has just been fitted & Mod Plated into the Lil War Machine so she is no longer a humble RB20. Pushed the old gurl a little too hard at the last Time Attack Raceday & busted the Engine big-time. Cylinder 6 held compression when cold & leakdown test but as soon as the engine warmed up all sorts of nonsense started-loss in compression & leakdown failure. The engine idled rougher than a hairy goat. So after careful deliberation & pondering what engine to replace the 20 with (ie 25, 26 or 25Neo) I decided on the RB25DET Neo Motor & Gearbox option-due to more modern tech & parts availability for future rebuilds. Engine & Gearbox is installed & runs like a dream. Much fatter torque curve down low & with all the ancillary mods around it we got a respectible 222.9rwhp out of the Stock Neo trim with increased fuel pressure(pump®). Big plans are in mix for her now with larger Turbo, Seimens injectors & that Wolf ECU I have lying around here somewhere. Also a half cage just to keep things relatively safe in cabin for the nutcase driver too Overall goal is 350rwhp & final upgrade of Wolf V4 to a Wolf V550 as to run 2 fuel maps (98Ron & E85) perhaps to around 400-450Rwhp. Only minors to fix like leaky power steering pump & we will soon see it back to bedlam mwahahaha.

  10. I think Blits or Blitz do a ADR approved fibreglass bonnet
  11. No after air passes thru rad it then either travels down side of engine & downwards under the car by firewall or upward to the rear of the bonnet. My understanding is that it travels downward & under the car

  24. Any for RB20DET on a R32Gtst?
  25. I agree with Roy, Mindset is the biggest gain you will achieve other than having a spare Million to experiment with every option to develop a street car wet race setup. Good tyres, plenty of Skidpan training may just be the only way we as weekend warriors may learn the finer points of fast wet weather driving whilst staying in control of our vehicles & putting down some respectable times. Keep us posted
