  1. Hi All My air conditioner compressor has failed. I haven't pulled it to bits yet but suspect the valve plate has cracked. Anyone got any ideas on replacement or repair options? Going to Bathurst for 6th, 7th and 8th February and will be in the pit area. Anyone else going? John
  2. Hi everyone, new member to this forum. I am rebuilding an R30 coupe that has an RB20DET motor and an R32 4WD gearbox, (only 2WD now). ECU is a Haltech E6X and I am after a wiring schematic to check against how I think it should be. I have all the downloads from the Haltech site. Any advice or experiences would be appreciated. Thanks John

  5. Hi et al Anyone going to Bathurst this weekend? I will be there, via the Putty road, in the camping ground with the R32 somewhere, Saturday night and Sunday only. John
  6. Hi Brad I need an arial. Let me know your bank details and I will get you to post one to me. (Newcastle) John
  7. Hullo everyone Still got the R32 and the R30. Sold the Senator and bought a Isusu ute to tow the trailer. Had the 30 out a few times but have decided to rewire it as most of the circuitry is not needed now. Couple of things. The arial on the GTR is broken where the rod screws in and I am having trouble sourcing a new one. Apparently they are made by AutoFlex in Germany, not for any particular model or type. Model number is 7 691 2700110001 Universal top 12v. I can get one from UK for $200 but has anyone got a better idea? Next, I am thinking of a Haltech ECU for the 30. Been told a Platinum ProR32 or a Platinum Sport 2000 will be suitable after minor wiring mods. Any experience? Lastly, anyone running Flex-Fuel and can you get it easy? John
  8. I'll put it on Carsales.com. I just sold the Senator through them so it seems to work OK. John
  9. Hi I've got too many cars at the moment so the 32 is for sale. The R30 project is practically finished, just waiting a windscreen and instrument wiring. Then some motor sport is beckoning. In everybody's interest who owns an ADM I think it is worth 60K so am firm on that. By the way is anyone going to Bathurst? Let me know, could meet up Saturday night for a beer or many. John
  10. Hi Marko I've got too many at the moment plus a car trailer I bought this week. Space is a problem. Option 1. Selling the Skyline and the Senator and keeping the R30, then buying a ute or one tonner as a tow vehicle. Option 2. Selling the Skyline, the Senator and the wife's Forester, keeping the R30, then buying a larger 4WD as a tow vehicle. Option3. Keep everything and get comments about looking like a car yard. Regadrs John
  11. Hi Bob Thanks for the comments, "One of very few in original condition." is a better way to put it. I am asking 60K. Shannons have it insured "agreed value" for 50k from 2 years ago. I'd really like to have a get together one day as Jim and I are a bit isolated up here. Couple of photos, the handbrake and I. I don't normally look that stupid but it's the best I've got. Regards John
  12. Hi All I am selling the ADM GTR R32 I have so am looking for advice. It has never been modified except for fitting an engine immobilizer. Would I be correct in thinking it is the only one in as delivered condition? I don't want advertise it with any misleading statements. It's in very good condition otherwise.
  13. Hi All Just keeping in touch after travelling for a while. Still got the R32 which is going well and the R30 is just about finished. A while ago I bought a VS Senator off the same chap I bought the R32 from. It has a Peter Brock 5.7l stroker and the Walkinshaw tuneable suspension. Kidding it doesn't have a big drink when pushed. Good tow car though. If anyone wants sheep skins seat covers there is a company called Mortels in Newcastle that make the best. Front seats about $800 which you have leave with them. Went to Bathurst for the "Super Cars", off course along the Putty Road and pulled in behind a 455 (I think) Ferrari at Bulga. It then proceeded at the speed limit or less round all the twisty bits. Don't know how you could drive a car like that along that road without giving it a squirt. How about visiting Newcastle sometime or a drive up the valley? John
  14. Hullo Jim Didn't know there was another Aus delivered in Newcastle. I get a few tyre kickers every now and then, most are dreamers but you never know. If your interested I could tell any serious people about yours being for sale. I wouldn't part with mine for less than $60k but then I might be prejudiced. Shannons had no trouble with a $50k agreed value. email is [email protected] if you want to contact. You too Bob, give me a note when your up here next, I am in Merewether. John
  15. No Targa this year. Afraid I have chickened out on using the GTR for events that involve very solid trees so close to the road. That's the reason for the R30. Last year several comments were made from non Skyline people that it would be a pity if it got bent. Just goes to show the high regard these cars in still held in. Also Targa is expensive and now that I am retired the pennies are fewer.
  16. Hi All Keeping up to date. My GTR 059 is still motoring on but hasn't done much since our "Waterfall Way" trip. The brake master cylinder is leaking so I am in for a new one. You may remember I bought the car off a 73 year old who is about to turn 80. He has bought an XR6 Falcon TurboI6 and sold me his VS 5.7 Liter HSV. Low K's and a nice car but has a big drink if pushed. I have also bought another Skyline but this time a 1983 HR30 2 Door which is being prepared as a race car for Tassie next year. It will have an R30 DET motor and a modified R32 gearbox. Bit of a project as it was quite rusty. I am going to the Bathurst 1000, via the Putty road of course, in October, staying Saturday in Cowra and Sunday for the race so if anyone is interested in meeting up let me know. All the best John
  17. Hi I am looking for the same thing. Did you do any good? John
  18. Hi I am looking for body parts around the firewall, mainly where the ECU harness goes through. Could you let me know if you want to sell bits or the whole shell and what condidition it is in. Thanks John
  19. Hi I am interested in body parts around the firewall. Could you let me know where you are and if that area of the car is available or do you want to sell the whole shell? What condition is it in? Regards John
  20. I am in Newcastle. Wife and I are planing a trip along the Waterfall Way then back via Thunderbolts Way. Route will be Newcastle-Gloucester-Taree-( Buckets Way)-Bellingen-Dorrigo-Armidale-Walcha-Gloucester-Newcastle. Probably week after next taking 3 days, leaving on a Monday. Plenty of twisty bits if anyone interested.
  21. Hi Yes he's still with us, drives an X6 Falcon and a V8 VEII Commodore. I have a beer with him most Friday nights and all he talks about is "HIS" Skyline.
  22. Hi all First great drive is from Thredbo to Khancoban along the Alpine Way then about 5ks after Khancoban turn right up to Cabramurra, through Kiandra and then a high speed drive to Cooma. Second is from Dungog to the Buckets Way, turn left to Gloucester and on to Walcha along Thunderbolts way, across to Dorrigo then Waterfalls Way down to the coast via Belligen. Third, The Putty road from Bulga to the halfway house and back. But the ultimate is Targa Tasmania. Safety Fast please.
  23. Hi I am interested in body panels and would like to have a look if you still have it. Could you let me know where and when please. Thanks John
