  1. I was wondering if it is a bad idea to put very large coils on. I have access to the nice big altronic coils we use in the ignition systems of stationary natural gas fired engines and i think it would be a great idea to mount them to the firewall and run leads to my plugs and get great ignition all the time without precisely rechanging gaps all the time for boost. Have many people retrofitted aftermarket coils like msd or accel or altronic?
  2. I'm wondering if the stock rb20 oil pump puts out enough to run some oil coolers without hurting the engine doing so. the engine has 80,000km and is running a to4e withe gtr injectors I would like to get 2 7.125in x 2in x 12in 14 row oil coolers or one 11.3in x 2.63in x 2in 9 row with a 11in x 9in x 2in 30 row. Running off my greddy oil filter relocation kit and with a tomei oil gallery orifice thatll be installed arround the same time when i arp the head. Will the pump do it??? I dont plan on putting 30,000km on it. That and a rad are just permanent mods for the car waiting for a future engine
  3. I got an innovate 3737 wideband 02. do i need to wire it in seperately or can i replace the stock one and just send the signal to the emanage? will it run without the stock one in?
  4. i have a r32 gts with a rb20. I'm running a top mount exhaust manifold, synapse 40mm gate, to4e .60 ar .63 exhauast. gtr injectors, z32maf, front facing intake, 4.5" thick intercooler, meth injection, mines ecu with a e manage untimate with a map sensor. Could i do an rb30 swap with 25 or 26 heads using my stock wiring, ecu and e manage ultimate. and run 550 or 660 injectors and tune it right. The rb20's nice but the extra tourque would be nicer. My p[lan would be to swap out my engine for a larger one but retain all my boltons with slight modifications and maybe a bigger or twined tuboes. If i kept it all would it run without a tune? Would i beable to max out the turbo? I'm saving for an r34 so i dont wanna waste my money doing a 10k build. What do you rb geniuses think? If u were cheap and wanted fast drag times what would you do without cuttind down my bolt on list to much and without a $1400 ecu
  5. i bet the officials weren't to happy with that run and no cage. 147mph and 9.9sec, that would be a stupid fast car if u got some slicks on it and got it hooked up from a launch. My buddys Camaro (100% dragster) runs 8.8 at 157mph. His car isn't even a real Camaro either, it's a tube chassi with a fiberglass drop on body. That r32 could take you, 3 friends and a pure bred Rotweiller to Mcdicks and then get waved through police roadblock on the way back.
  6. Incredible drag car. Im gonna halfto get a short block off u guys one of these days.
  7. Well Hennessy did a GTR700 kit and one upped Japan so maybe Stillen wants to develop an entire engine package. Juns built a 4L stroker kit, so hopefully Stillen will make a stroker kit at an american price so everyone who isnt a prince in UAE can get one. Everyone will need american sleeves anyways to make huge power so they migh as well build the rotating assembly too.
  8. Thoes blocks look like they should be in a show room. I see by their lack of prices these fall into the "if you need to ask" catagory of parts. It would be really neat to see a company like that , that makes engines from raw material make a rb38 or something. I've always thought about how cool it would be if a macinist in his spare time could make a 4L 2 stroke rotax and put it in a car.
  9. As much as i'd like a rb25 swap i'd really like keep it easy and just build my rb20 before the r34 gtr is legal here. I really wanna do a solid cam setup and being in a big hotrod city the largest most lift cam sounds great to me 270deg 10.25mm lift Tomei Procam with possibly a ca18 valve upgrade. What sorta engine would beable to run this? i was thinkn standard crank, eagle rods, cp 8.5:1 pistons and 1mm head gasket with a gt3040r or PE rx6 (subject to change). I plan on mostly drag and late night highway with the occasional trac rhomp and i dont need a daily driver so i have no problem throwing enough boost at it. I figure you can never have enough head flow so what do you think it would take to make the engine sing.
  10. My new magazine is featuring Hi Octanes r34 with a rb2630 and they claim that this car is producing 830hp and running gt2860 -5's . Is this possible with these turboes or is that power all in the compression and head?
  11. Has anyone used a os giken cross gear set? What exactly is it? Is it straight cut or helical? I'm just lookin to put together a gtr and need something reliable and consistent enough to drag race with high hp numbers without dropping $16,000 of rip off to transfer the power.
  12. I put 10K with it and i had a drag 4 3/4" intercooler, front facing intake plenum, and .4bar over what the ecu was setup for with atleast 310whp and never skipping a beat (buddies 2700lb Dodge Dart 340ci 4sp got smoked every time so 2900lb skyline must have atleast that). She's gonna be running my td05 16g i'm gonna rebuild, a w alboro 255lph fuel pump i have sittin arround, a properly sized fmic, stock intake plenum and a afc i never got arround to using. She will be using it for pretty much exactly what it was setup for, if the 4wd isn't gonna be a problem then i can't see a problem with it except having to tell her about the octane booster thats gonna make for 80$+ fill ups.
  13. Ma lady has an r32 gts4 and i'm wondering if my ecu i'm removing will work on her gts4. I got a bunch of parts i havent used or have upgraded so i might as well make her car a muscle car killer.
  14. I wouldn't buy a GTR unless it came with a manual. A 30k r34 with 30k put into would destroy anything. I heard months back that Nissan might release a special edition gtr called an (evo?) with a clutched manual, i dont know how true this is or how much they'd try and rape u for it but i'd pay less then 90 for it. I'm still waiting for a magazine feature with someone who has made the perfect GTR retrofitting it with a madly built way overbored rb30 and getrag 6sp. But when i saw a black edition GTR in the shop before going onto the showroom i only wished i was ready to buy because seeing and sitting in that car makes you think "f*k the manual i just wanna drive this car". I'm glad i didn't trade in my r32 and finance that GTR because nissan will smarten up some day soon and that'll be "the legend" just like the r34 still is.
  15. sorta, my top mount was this years project and i have yet to even start the car for the first time, everything else was done last year and worked very well with my mines tuned ecu. I just need to locate the damn o2 bung that i misplaced and weld that in place and build one 90 degree bend to tie the turbo into my charge system. I dont really know what boost i can run with the stock injecors and the larger turbo. I peaked at 1.4 bar last summer with a tdo5h 16g and dropped to 1 bar, but i think even 1 bar at 8000rpm is allot of air to fuel with the to4e. Do you think running over 1 bar would be pushin it?
  16. I seen them do this to a hotrod and got arround 650hp out of a chevy 350. They said that injecting propane as a liquid just by the injection process will make 5-8 pounds of boost in the intake. Plus the octane rating is so high that it's basicly like your running race fuel but at half the cost of shitty regular. I was thinkin of building my Dodge up for propane and getting a stroker 390 11.5/1 comp built to utilize it. The only problem i found is that it's a pain to put the tank somewhere.
  17. I've got my rb20 up to the level i want and i got a z32 maf and gtr injectors with resistor sitting on my shelf. My car has a JUN style plenum, 4 3/4" thick intercooler, 3" piping, NISMO fuel reg, 255lph pump, racing clutch, flywheel, top mount turbo manifold with a .50 ar to4e turbo, 40mm Synapse wastegate, and i just finished fabricating my dump pipe and a screamer pipe so small it'll fit in the palm of ur hand. Can i install the z32 maf sensor and or injectors before i can get Nistune software? even for a little bit? I heard of guys changing their stock maf to a z32 with no tuning and they claimed it worked. ??
  18. So the "Main Up Right" is the proper name for that tall peice that connects the Top Upper Camber Arm to the hub assembly somewhat like a mcpherson setup???
  19. What is that part i marked orange? and is their anyone selling adjustable links that go down to the front swaybar? i bent that orange part, bent that link that goes to the front sway bar, folded the front lower control arm and snapped my front tension rod taking my car for a trip over a curb. Also have both by rear hubs tweaked. I can get thoes for $200 a set but my supplier needs to know what the part number or atleast the name of that other drop arm lookin part. thank you.
  20. What if you also had DriftWorks coilovers at 8k front 6k rear in mind or Tien Type Flex coilovers at 6k front 5k rear? The DriftWorks unit is claimed to be comfortable for what their spring rates are. Everything else with my suspension will be Driftworks except maybe swaybars. So i wouldn't mind their coilovers if they wont break the old ladies back because to be honest i could care less about daily driving 11k front 10k rear if they were usefull once and a while. The only thing that keeps me wanting type s is how much better they would be at the drag strip, especially with slicks or on the street when everyone else is rollin on solid axles and econo spring rates.
  21. Is anyone using these coilovers, i like the spring rates but i need to know what that 20mm lower looks like. Would any of you use these?? Theirs atleast of half dozen different kinds of coilovers for roughly the same price but most of them would suck 95% off the km's i put on the car but would be incredible in thoes times when i go crazy down a back road or autoX. I plan on more drag racing then anything but need good handeling for road trips. Loyal NISMO fans, do you like or dislike this line of coilovers?? Hows your cars stance with them??
  22. I came across a place that sells a ton of high end turboes dual ball bearing and i saw a gt2510 and got thinkin. My plan which i already have a turbo and z32 MAF for will probably spool at 4500rpm (to4e). I recall many bashings over the past year of guys making and or thinking of running twin gtr or rb20 turboes on an rb20 with absolutely no good news other then the novelty of it. Literally double the rpm to make boost was hammered in as fact. But what about turboes small enough and free moving enough to make it finally make sense(or in the ballpark). I know theirs a gigantic bullsh1t factor in doing an install like that but how bad would it really be considering how sluggish a to4e will be comming onto boost. I enjoy doing things differently and making whatever i do work out better in the end modified. Twin tiny dual ball bearing garretts must at the very least give more torque sooner, thoes twins maxed right out should only push 500bhp max maybe a bit more or less. A gt3076r would be ideal but is their any love out their for a set of scooter worthy twins?????? o yea, i run an 8000rpm redline
  23. So the pistons are layed out in the caliper itself to apply pressure a certain way? I know the front and rear 4 pistons are different size but i figured that with the difference between the front and rear calipers with 355mm up front and 320mm or 330mm in the rear should make for some good braking. Are the holes on the brembo bracket the same center to center as the nissan standard brakes? I have no problem fabing up my own adapters to fit the calipers and any size rotor that would best suit the balance. I was even thinking of making grooves instead of just holes front and rear to allow maybe 10mm of caliper adjustment to get the feeling right. I dont think rotors will be a big deal since so many companies make big brake kits of several different styles and size with even more replacement and upgraded rotors. Sorta the same reason why r33, r34, z33, v35 and g35 used Brembos are so expensive used when every person with a 80's 240z up too the r34 gts-t owner wants them. I mean with a bit of looking arround you can find porche 'Big Reds' 6 pistons to use in the front and a set of 4 pistons in great shape for the same price as a complete z33 or r34 Brembo system. But if i dont have a very hard time installing something then it probably means a few dozen people here already did it.
  24. Im looking at porche brembos to fit on my r32 since they are very cheap for what they are. Does anyone know whats needed to put these in. The brakes i'm interested in are the Porche Boxer S 4 piston front and smaller 4 piston rear brakes. I've seen large 6 piston gt2 brakes ($5,000 or $6,000) forsale as an upgrade but how about brakes straight off a porche?? For a grand you can easily pickup front and rear calipers with rotors.
