I'm just getting the rest of my parts and am in the process of installing a front facing intake manifold and TD05 upgraded turbo to go into my custom intercooler and want to know is i should buy atleast an N1 oil pump to go with my mods. My main concern is spending $350 on a pump and finding out later it cost tripple that to install because the engine had to come out. I will put these in in the comming months no doubt about it but is it an economical install to do or if it's a big job putting in a new oil and water pump. If i dont put it in now i'll do it a bit down the road because i wanna get a tri metal head gasket for good measures too.

S13 200sx Greddy Intake Fit Rb20det ?
LedZepLen replied to LedZepLen's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
screw it. I need to buy intercooler piping so i'll just buy 2 DIY kits instead of one to be on the safe side and maky my own intake. i took mu old one off yesterday along with most of the stock piping and it looks way to simple to spend 80$ for something that s aays Greddy when i can buy a bunch of common mandrel bent pipes with couplers for $65 plus 2$ for a proper coupler seeing as i already have a pretty new Apexi dry pod filter on the stock intake i just took off. -
S13 200sx Greddy Intake Fit Rb20det ?
LedZepLen replied to LedZepLen's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
haha. I ment the pipe going to the turbo. if i was that clueless i wouldn't be in the position to even consider installing it. I have a R32 Skyline GTS-T with an RB20det that i'm in the process of installing a front facing plenum and waiting for a Greddy TD05 Turbo upgrade kit from Chiba Japan. I just found a really good deal on a S13 200sx greddy intake with blue filter that if it'll fit in "good enough" i'd buy to go with this clean setup i'm going to be running. -
I can get a whicked deal on a new Greddy intake with blue filter to match my couplers. Will it fit an RB20det with a Greddy TD05 and sit infront of the wheel well? I'm not to worried about the coupler being the fight size, just it's postion in the car.

Just put a "T" in the line going to the pressure sensor and run your aftermarket gauge off that. It just looks estestically better when everything in a car works. Your not gonna jam a screwdriver into your water temp guage when you get a new one so might as well keep the old one working.

whats the big deal, just weld'er up. correct Nissan by doubling the spot welds or if you have access to a TIG or a MIG setup with small enough wire you could even do a few stitch welds. Dont go for rivets, thoes will have their days numbered right fron the start where a good weld of any sort will last aslong as the metal its fuseing.

Crank Strength And Upgrading Options.
LedZepLen replied to LedZepLen's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Awsome timing, i wanna start that project next winter. I hope to have the largest displacement rb in North America. I'm the only person in my city to have a modified Skyline so far but i hope it catches on as i'd like to start importing in a few years. Since it's an unkown car here it needs to live up to the legends arround the model name (apparently i can CHIP 1000hp, hahaha). -
Will Rb26 Cam Covers Fit An Rb20 Head?
LedZepLen replied to LedZepLen's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
What about rb26 cam covers. Stock rb20det cam covers look like crap, especially when theirs a show front facing manifold not covering them up. -
Crank Strength And Upgrading Options.
LedZepLen replied to LedZepLen's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Holy shat. A 3.7L RB would be insane. -
I found a guy selling chrome rb26 covers and wanna know if it would fit?
-
How strong is the stock crank shaft? Will it handel 500-800hp every day? Are their any upgrade options that dont require a 5 year loan to afford? and while i'm at it, would my rb20det computer chipped for 550cc injectors and z32 MAF be a good base map for a rb26/30 (with an E-Manage Ultimate on the side) or would i be better off machining my stock heads and putting large valves in it?
-
I have found several for sale on the internet and most of them are for the RB25 with only one for the RB20. The cheapest one i found today on Ebay Australia is for an RB25 and has a q45 throttle body flange. Would a unit like this fit up to an RB20 with the water and fuel hardware bolting right up. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Inlet-Manifold-SKYL...1QQcmdZViewItem extra note. Does anyone know if the Greddy E Manage unit will tune itself to NISMO replacement upgraded injectors as i have no means of professional tuning within 800km or so.

Top RB20 Club... do you have over 260rwkw?
LedZepLen replied to RBsileighty's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Im still in the midst of my rb20det build but checkout this guy whose selling a R32 GTS-T with a rb20det on ebay with what appears to be a stock bottom and top end with stock intake manifold and claims to have made 503hp at 14psi but has it at 3 right now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1993-nissan...1QQcmdZViewItem what do you think, i think he just made a number and realized it was a time bomb and got scared. Damn nice interiour though. -
300hp Send the pistons through the hood if need be. Thats my motto. I've just ordered a Garrett GT2860 (Infamous Disco Potato) and with just a rebuild with all new rings gaskets and graphite hot gaskets i'm going for whatever 18psi in normal driving and 22-24 psi with Boost Cool will give me. Next year is an RB30/26 with twin disco potatos to build up for the following year. Saw a GTR for sale with twin GT2860 turbos at 16 psi making 500whp so i'm gonna step up with a rare RB engine combo (here). Good luck. Checkout Garrett GT2860 (Disco Potato) and i hope not to see a post from you next year above mine how i just blew my stock RB20 at a retarded 24psi as i dont have allot of hope for my engine living through next year.

Well a snowmobile is good all year round, You can go in the snow, on grass, double as a jet ski if you dont let off the throttle or spin the trac on water, rip arround on sand dunes or put a rubber track on and rip 9's down the strip. But i choose to snowboard and save mney fro my car. and the place i snowboard at and where the last vids were taken has 300cm of snow already from what i heard.
-
Hell yea!! 9 1/2" of the white stuff after 2 days of snowing on and off. The season of snow drifitng and snowbording has begun allong with the winter car mod season.

Not what my Muscle Mustang & Fast Ford magazine show. Theirs a cobra showcased with a bone stock engine except intake manifold, ignition and fuel system with twin GT35R turbos. The guy has a dial by the shifter with 4 engine tunes: 515hp at 9psi, 560 at 14psi, 680 at 16psi, 820 at 19psi. He says he's been beating the living crap out of the car for 6000 miles since the turbo kit and it loves it. In one artical they showed how to get 600, 700, 800, 900hp out of a stock 4.6 and the 900hp one actually made 970hp and 890ft.lbs on twin turbos and 93 octane. Thats a bit of overkill but the point is that it made that power in consecutive dyno pulls. Plus it's tourque curve went straight up at 3500rpm and never moved out of 75 points the whole way to 7200rpm, 800ftbls throught the whole pull opposed to all the supercharged ones that were making just under 400 at 3500rpm and never went close to as high proportinally to the turbo. They say the Ford Modular engines are the domestic markets answer to the 2JZGTE supra engine in it's capability as a stock engine to easily handel hundreds of hp above stock in a stock engine. But it's a never ending debate over whats better because they were all built practically the same but in different bodies. I'd just love to see a logo on the side saying "BOSS R32 TT" and it would be really funny when someon asks if you've got a single turbo engine or a twin turbo engine and have that as the engine.
-
A 317kw R33 as clean as yours would fetch $20,000 - $25,000 here if it were legal to import and i'm sure someone wouldn't mind trading their $20,000 sled for a car that nice and as rare as it would be here.

The first problem in making a reliable skyline is the use of a Chevy. To do it right you need a Ford. A turbo happy enigine that with the right spark can run 1000 street hp bone stock. Thoes are the 96' up Ford Modular 4.6 and 5.4 allong with their new Boss 302 block rated for over 1000 nitrous or boosted hp. Though i dont have the same respect for the brand new motors as their aluminum and we all know why we hate the R35 and sr20's. Atleast it's being modified. I live in a muscle car town with no improrts you'll ever see. The word Corvette and Mustang mean an embarasement for their displacement when an stock boosted 89 japanese 2L whops their LS1 or other small block ass. I've gotten allot of pissed off looks from guys as a jam it into 3rd and start making distance with a 4" exaust tip laughing at them. Best race i've ever had was with a 78 firebird running a freshly rebuilt 400ci with all the bolt ons, i just crept by from mid 3rd gear and he laughed at me saying "it took enough nitrous to run a hospital to get by me(him)" and i also laughed and said that was just a bone stock 2L on stock boost. He never said a thing after that and is always eyes ahead every time i see him.

The area the last 2 Sled vids before their 2 random vids is right arround Mackenzie where i go snowboarding every weekend in the winter. The place i go is called Powder King and is probably one of the best ski hills in the world in my opinion (you wont ever hear about it). They get no less then 30' or 10M of the fresh stuff and it closes all week except friday to sunday so your always garantied to have a shatload of fresh powder. But me and my buddies spend the whole day in the backcountry. I wish i had the money for a nice sled but snowboarding is more satasfying then holding on to dear life riding a 160hp 400lb 800cc 2 stroke sled that could make a better looking dyno graph then your wifes commuter car.

Supra Tt Getrag Matted To A Rb30? Or T56
LedZepLen replied to LedZepLen's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
They must not be the hardest things in the world to get installed if guys are putting them to SR's and RB drift cars. Plus if it can take a 2nd to 3rd upshift in the midst of a full throttle drift it much be durrable. I think the only reason they fail in R34's is that guys are doing full throttle 1000hp shifts with big wide sticky tires all arround to put thta power down where guys run 600-1000hp supras all day every day just fine because they have lack of tractioon to keep the shockload down a bit when doing a hard shift. I'm sure once i have a block and the tranny sitting beside eachother i could figure out a way, i mean i'm a welder so it's almost expected that i half to make it fit one way or annother. Be it bellhousing modifying or a completely fabbed up one. If i completely fabbed up a good bellhousing i probably could sell a few in the process. -
Project Gtst 8 Second Run Video
LedZepLen replied to ahapartridge's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Did you put in a narrowed Ford 9" in the rear to hold up with the power and application? -
If you think your car is fast running a T25, T28 or twin T28's checkout this Yammaha Apex Turbo running a t28 ball bearing turbo. All the guys arround where i live are getting into turbo charging their 350-550lb snowmobiles and making insane hp. Checkout how similar this sled is to your car. and a few more of them in use. and a random sled vid from these guys that have a shop right near where i work. This is what the greatest part of Canada (Northern BC baby) is all about. and a bit of Jet boat action for you aussies and if i'm not mistaken theirs a whicked nice Powerstroke drift in one

I'm gonna live with my RB 20det with all the bolt ons and huge turbo but thats gonna be temporart till i have it made into a RB24 or i'll jut buy an Rb30 and put RB26 aluminum heads on it. My goal is 600+ wheel hp and the full use od the 320km/h speedo i'm ordering. What i would really like to do is get a Supra TT Getrag 6sp or a Tremec T56 from the Corvette, GT500 and Viper matted to it. The one biggest flaw in any pre 99' skyline is the lack of annother gear. The car is just boring with 5 gears, i mean you are going a good clip in each gear it's just i'd like to cruise at more then 100-110 on the highway without incinerating all my fuel for a 120-140 travel speed and an extra gear and bigger turbo would correct this. Plus when i am hauling ass i'd like to hold the speed with a lower RPM and still have the option of down shifting once or twice and doing some really speeds. Once i get the block and tranny i'll have arround 3/4 of a year to screw arround with it all to get working for the next summer as i'll be enjoying my car on a stock engine and 20PSI. Has anyone used a Tremec T56 transmission or Getrag 6 from a supra in any of their RB applications, and what steps were taken to acheive this? RB's got the high rev capability but everyone else has the extra gear so i'd like to fill the gap and make my car into my vision of what a Skyline should be. Much appreciated.

i think you need to get the boost restrictor removed from the ECU. Theirs a few chips that do that including one from HKS that taps into your computer. They also have similar units for fuel cut elimination, speed cut elimitation and a MAF stabalizer for aftermarket BOV and atmospheric.
