  1. Just waiting for some documents. This is what I understand the big wait to be. It took this complier in brissy a over a month before he even looked at my GTR, so it sat in his workshop the whole time. He over did himself with his work, so he had alot of cars to do. It took him apparently less than a week to comply the car but another big wait seems to be the the plates/approval. I am not a complier so i don't know everything, but I understand that they once they comply the car they compiel all there emission data and proof of compliance and send it to SEVS and then they send the approval and plates???? and this takes up to 5 weeks i have been told by the complier. So all my delays add up and then you have a massive one at the end.
  2. Certainly is a silver one. My Gtr was the same story, missed the boat and finally landed in OZ on Feb 2nd. I guess if it was standard firstly it would've been a quicker process. This is my fourth inport and as far as i am concerned the old system was so much better. It's not good, but I guess it's good to know I'm not the only one having drama's.
  3. Has anyone been experiencing big delays in getting there cars complied???? I have a 33 V-spec GTR that has been getting complied in Brisbane since mid february. My car got in the country on the 2nd of Feb and after the usual time for customs and all that jazz to take place it went to a mechanics to have the mods removed and some standard stuff to go back on so I wouldn't lose it when complied (Exhaust, mags, filters, intercooler and piping). On the standard mags we had new tyre's as well. It went to the compliers and it took him over a month before he even looked at complying it, he said he had a backlog of cars to complete and then he tells us that it takes five weeks for the government to send him the plates once he sends in his paper work. during this whole process as well he informs us that he has put on new tyre's and we had to get the car to a mechanic to replace a CV boot (the mechanic said it was fine but the complier insisted it be replaced). But what get me is during this whole process everytime we rang he said "2 weeks, the car will be ready in 2 weeks" Has anyone else been having these drama's or am I just cursed to have everything to go wrong and take forever to happen?????????
  4. I made 580Nm out of my RB25 with a GT30 running a microtech. That pulled hard so I would love to feel 1000Nm!!!!!!!
  5. I'm not a mechanical genius but one of the first things i got my head around is that everythings to do with flow rates. I'm not dumb, I understand that just cause the turbo can flow that amount of air doesn't mean the motor will produce it. That all comes down to other factors within the motor and tuning. That is beside the piont. A bit more on that VL. It is in Mackay, Qld. He bought the turbo off a guy in Mackay who had it made up for his Gen III ute, so yes I don't think the compressor efficiency would be desirable on the VL. He is basically running it cause he got the turbo and external Wastegate fairly cheap. He is running different cams (lift and Duration??? but they seem fairly aggressive when compared to normal turbo one's) He has gone for a Link because the turbo has a 4 inch inlet and he really doesn't want the restriction of an AFM, the link is closed loop as well, so that will be very helpfull. the tuner also likes the software with the link (not getting into arguements, I think PowerFC's are great and am considering one for my GTR with RB20 AFM's). I too reckon the power delivery will fairly late and fairly sudden and his clutch will be screaming for mercy after not too long. at least the engine bay will look good with this HUGE turbo sitting there!!!!! I know you guys would probably want more specific info about it so i will try find out more later and post it.
  6. Just thought I would throw this in, Mate of mine is doing up a VL with the RB30/25 Conversion. He is running standard rods in it but some how he got his hands on some nissan motor sport forged piston's that weren't available to the public!!!! lucky prick. He is running a custom turbo flowing 600Hp at 6psi. The engine is complete and is about to have my other mate make the inlet and exhaust manifolds up for him. Tremic 5 speed rated to support 600Hp. 750cc injectors. He was tossing up his options between power FC or a Link computer and after talking to his tuner is going for the Link due to being able to remove the AFM. should be a pretty good car when it's complete.
  7. as far as I understood before the rules changed J spec s15's could be imported because they where released in japan before we got them. so if they where released in japan in 98 and in Oz in 2000 you could import those 98 and 99 models. Also you could import the subaru sb/t forresters while we had the GT forrster.
  8. Need some Stock HR33 Brake Rotors front and rear, on the cheap.
  9. Need the bottom half of an Inlet Manifold to make a Plenum for my skyline after I found out a GTR one won't fit.
