I will have a look over the weekend and get some photos up if i can find it and throw it in with the Apexi pods... One thing i did not add to the post above is that the passenger seat does not come with a seatbelt buckle! Drivers seat does.. Cheers Liam
  2. Hey Guys, Have some parts off my GTR that were sitting in storage and not being used so it's time to sell to help fund some bigger brakes. Great condition. [Can organise a quote on freight for this if interested however it would be expensive] - 1995 R33 GTR rear seatbelts $50 [$20 registered post anywhere in Aus] Not from the GTR but; - 4 x Rota Grind 16x8" +10 (4x114.3mm) wheels, bronze colour. Wheels do have a few scratches on the outside, more from storage than gutter rash.. Pics below. $450 for the 4 (tyre that is pictured is not included!) [Can organise a quote on freight for this if interested] Pictures... Please note that more pictures are to come over the weekend Please feel free to PM, Email, SMS or call me for any more details! 3. Haha they are a little bright you could say... Going to put the entry in for high country soon to secure a spot, it's still so far away though.
  4. Ahhh yes forgot about those, well if you want to be anal there are two tow stickers on the car too and our names on the window. Blue triangles are on magnets and taped down
  5. Yes the silver one with no stickers on it besides the TWP ones..
  6. Hmmm, could be something i will need to look at/test on a track day. The vibrations were extremely violent though and i was worried too about the 2-piece rotors cracking or damaging the calliper or the wheel studs too push it any harder under brakes. That and if i tried to brake on anything other than a dead straight line the car wanted to 'skip' straight ahead instead of turning. After slowing for the stop point on just about every stage i stayed off the brakes completely (and tried not to stop rolling for as long as possible) and by the start of the next stage normally the brakes would be fine for the first 3kms or so.
  7. DBA 5000 which 'apparently' haven't been too hot due to the heat markings on the top of the rotor. Really need to get myself a laser thermometer and work out how hot it really is..
  8. mannn that was fast/sketchy! Makes my footage seem really boring... Dad and I had a fun weekend, got down to Devonport, drove to Hobart, went through doc & scrutineering then recce'd the first day's stages before drivers briefing. Left straight after that and finished the 2nd day's stages just before dark. Car ran fine however started to shudder under brakes half way through every stage from about the 2nd or 3rd stage. Same thing happened on the 2nd day at High Country so we had the disc's runout checked then machined (wasn't far out) and replaced the steering rack bushings, caster bushings, wheel bearings, brake pads and had the wheels balanced but still the same problem so we are back to the drawing boards to work out what it is Anyway here's a vid i put together of the Oyster Cove 1 stage Did anyone think the stop point for Oyster Cove was a little close to the TF?
  9. Dad and I are heading down on Thursday morning and will be arriving in Tas sometime Friday. This time round we have bought the notes as we only have one day for recce so it will be interesting to see how well i go and how well we were calling different corners and cautions when we did THC late last year.. Can't wait though! We had terrible brake shudder on the second day of THC so hopefully have done enough to fix this (wasn't too confidence inspiring on Eildon trying keep speed when i could barely hold onto the wheel when i had to brake). Also have acquired a secondary HD camera to motivate me to put some of the footage together (and to also drive a little faster ). Now from what i have seen on youtube (and i couldn't find many good quality videos) the roads looked a lot narrower and rougher than what THC was. For those who have done Wrest Point before would you be able to give me a quick insight as to what the roads are like down there ?
  10. Ooooppppssss yeah won't be doing that *reads over regs again... The Caltex at Eildon has 98 too, not sure how 'fresh' it would be though as it is not really the middle of anywhere...
  11. We spent the last 3 days down in the area for our recce. Course looks very interesting, plenty of fast long corners The dirt section between Jamieson and Big River seems to have been graded all the way through now and is fairly smooth with no holes etc... There is a lot of small, loose gravel on the top though which will bury themselves into our tyres. How does everyone plan to clean out their tyres? We were thinking of taking an ice scraper style thing and a screw driver to clean as much as we can out of the tyres, that's if there is enough time before the start of the next stage.
  12. Thanks for the input guys don't think we will stress to much about the distances for next weekend. Taking down the HD windscreen mounted cam so should hopefully be able to play back the route with the notes and note down any landmarks that we miss when in the car. Hopefully this way it will feel like i have driven the course more than 2-3 times... Cars all ready now, new pads, semis on and ready, oil change, rad flush ohhh and a fresh dyno tune
  13. So what navigation equipment are people using in their recce cars? I don't really feel like buying another terratrip just for the recce/can't be bothered swapping it from the GTR and back before the event so that's out. Do many people take down distances to help get back on notes if you fall off or to mark certain corners/cautions? Most of the notes that dad and i are going to take shouldn't need distances however they would be helpful on the stages where you have to turn onto a different road (though these will be marked in the course notes/road book so is there much point?). Does anyone use their odo's trip meter for an approx distance? i.e. length of straight before next corner. Other option i was thinking of is going over a topo map/google maps and write down the distances for the cautions that way. Dad and I are heading down for a recce of the THC course next weekend. I'm getting rather excited!!
  14. Yeah i'm on that list at the moment and spoke to Helen @ Octagon just before. Apparently when dad submitted our application he did not specify the diameter of the exhaust so it was held in the selection.. So hopefully now it should all be cleared up :S Oh and looks like i'll have to get a new muffler/rear section of the exhaust as it is 92mm , Anyone know if the diameter of the tip counts or just all downstream pipes up to the rear muffler?
  15. So Dad and I have booked accommodation in the area for the 15-16th October and will be down to spend the weekend on a recce. The place we are staying supposedly sleeps 5 and so far there are two of us going down. If anyone is keen to come down that weekend and share the costs of accom send me a pm and i can send you some details for the place we're staying...
  16. Dad and i are confirmed too Now for some more brake setup testing before the Mt Buller downhill section...
  17. Hi Guys/Girls, After one the passenger side rear skirting pod from a R33 GTR (see pic below). My car's silver but any colour will be fine. I'm in Sydney but will pay for postage if you have one in good condition! If you have one PM me your number and i shall be in contact!! Thanks Liam
  18. Yeah i was the driver of the silver 33 and Dad was the nav. The whole of day two i went through the first 3 corners at snails pace and was still breaking traction under light throttle on the exit. One of the locals was saying that that corner gets alot of ice on it over winter, like there will be ice there before there will be ice further up the mountain, don't know how much of an effect this would have on the road surface though...
  19. Went alright for the first outing (and first time ever driving with semi's), had two runs where we pulled over to check if the car infront of us and had a run where it was raining for the first few cars off (and dried out as they pulled a porche and cortina off the road). All up was a good experience, just need to learn to trust the tyres a lot more to keep more corner speed and Dad and i will need to get some practice together to get the notes right. Oh and had an off on the first corner of the 6th run so we dnf'd. Tyres were cold and didn't expect the corner to be as slipery as it was. I have this on our incar camera and i took the same line and was even slower than the previous runs but still went around. Ended up on the bank behind us and did a little damage to the rear bumper but nothing mechanical Entry is in for High Country so between now and then i will be doing as much track time as possible learning the tyres and car and might have to do some night runs somewhere with dad to help with the notes..
  20. Thanks Kel! I'll post up some video if all goes wel Sounds like it will be an interesting experience for the both of us!
  21. Dad and i will be down there in our silver 33. From the starting list it looks like we will be right behind you for the first run If anyone is free and in the area for the weekend i know Tim @ mountain motorsport has a few positions left for the touring class....
  22. Got around to installing the guard vents today, looks quite neat i think for $16 worth of stainless vents..
  23. Been a while since i have been on here but have made progress.. Installed the cooler today and got most of the fitting done.. The Greddy kit i got was made to fit in the drivers side guard between the vent with the indicator and the BOV. But no luck using their mountings as the BOV was well in the way so had to modify the mounting brackets a bit and got it to fit. Only problem was that it now sat so far forward that the indicator could not be kept in the original place so that has been moved which has also lets twice the air through to the cooler. Going with a combo of holes and a vent much like the arc one (but from some camping store so cheap cheap) to get the hot air out of the guard. Also i have used a heap of fiberglass heat tape on the return lines from the BOV which are mighty close to the cooler. Now the only thing left to do is get a oil filter to fit on the Grex sandwich plate. Was awesome to discover that after the plate was on the Nissan filter does not fit as the outside of the filter hits on the hose fittings. Hopefully if all goes to plan i will test it out down at Wakefield next Wednesday.
  24. Hey Duncan, running BBS somethings with 5mm slip on spacers which came with the car. The spacers that were on it were a multi 4/5 stud job and didn't have much material where it contacted the hub/wheel. All up it would be lucky if there was 10mm of thread in the nut so it came loose fairly easily. I had the job of changing the studs to longer ones on my list but things got busy and it was pushed aside. Just finished putting longer studs in the front which are about 40mm longer than the old ones and torqued them all up to 120nm. Guess Dad and i had to learn the lesson the hard way..
