  1. Thanks mate, appreciate it.
  2. that's awesome, I want 3!
  3. Nah, the transfer case was making bad noises well before I got hold of it. The part that failed was the chain that runs the front driveshaft. It was probably flogged before I got to it. The way the mech explained it is that a faulty G-sensor prevents the front wheels engaging when the rears slip, it doesn't run the ATESSA 100% and burn out the T/C. Stinky, how much do you want for it? If you wrap it in enough bubble wrap and secure it in a decent box it shouldn't get damaged. I don't know why mine is but there's a little sensor on the side that turns red when it's damaged. sort of like a geiger counter
  4. While getting my transfer case replaced, my mechanic told me my g-sensor for the ATTESA is stuffed, and costs upwards of $2500. Apparently I shouldn't rely on it to engage the front wheels any time soon. Has anyone had to deal with replacing this unit? I had to relocate it for the manual conversion, if anyone who's done this conversion has had the same thing happen let me know. Cheers
  5. Spotted the same silver R33 with P plates today, however they were driving more sensibly. Also spotted a gunmetal R32 GTR around 1:30pm in civic, had custom NSW plates.
  6. Spotted a P plater in a Silver R33 getting sideways out of Autoco in Belconnen. Should be careful, you could hurt someone doing that.
  7. I have series 1 eyelids, I'll see if I can get them copied.
  8. I wish I were old school, or canberran....
  9. I'm moving to Bathurst in 2 weeks, I'll definately be there
  10. .... what?
  11. black R32 drove through civic today, I was havign breaky at a cafe along bunda st, heard the RB rumble as he drove past.
  12. I'm going to Bathurst this weekend to watch the great race, no amount of Ferrari's can tear me away from that.
  13. Yeah I hope people learned a lesson from the last time it was organised. I'd be keen but I'm leaving town in 2 weeks.... nooooo
  14. Hell yeah car is fixed. watch this space....
  15. No cash, he just wanted the auto box and transfer case for a new manual transfer case. I don't mind diff oil, but when it gets on your clothes.... yuk.
  16. It is, except for the stench of diff oil. Obviously when the transfer case let go oil went all over the underside of the car, including the exhaust. I'll probably be smelling that for some time now.
  17. Car is FIXED!!!. The auto transfer case was not the same as the manual one, but luckily someone who works there had a son with a few spare transfer cases. He swapped me one for my old auto transmission so now the old girl is back on the road!
  18. this thread is 2 years old dude...
  19. The latest photos I have aren't very recent, But it gives you an idea.
  20. Yes, I found this out too, sorry for doubting you unique1. I have sourced another transfer case and I should be back on the road by Tuesday. Then I'll get the car detailed and put her on the market I think.
  21. Yeah I did mate, I'll wait and see what happens with my car tomorrow (they're pulling it all apart to see if the bits are compatible) then I'll make a call if I need new parts.
  22. I always stir trouble about skylines, I don't drive one ....muhahahaha
  23. Awesome! I can have hours of fun with this one!
  24. I don't get it...
  25. The transfer case is irrelevant of the gearbox it is attached to. The ATESSA controls the transfer case, the auto transmission just sends a driveshaft into the transfer case. Looking at the 2 transfer cases they appear identical and they are separated by a plate, so no chunks of chain would have found their way into the gearbox. I'll find out on friday if they will interchange, if not I'll have a hunt around for an R33 GTR transfer case.
