  3. Hey all, I have an R34 GT, i wasn't really sure if this would come under the cosmetics and styling section since it really won't do too much for my car, or if i should post it here. Well anyhow, i was wondering what would be a good drop, i was thinking nothing more than an inch, although i just installed some new rims and tires on that are 18" (don't know exact dimensions off top of my head) but the car is sitting quite high from the guards and it really looks like a jeep more than anything now! I'm not too keen on spending alot on it either, although i would spend a good amount on suspension if the quality was good. I am fitting a bodykit (Bomex for R34GTT's) on it in a little over a months time and i thought that would rectify the height problem. But i only realised now that the guards will still look quite high up and fairly douche like. Heres an an attached picture of what bodykit it is from the rear, and if you look at how flush the guards are, i would like something that would sit fairly similar on the wheels. But right now its ridiculously high looking higher than stock! i also realise i would have to roll the gaurds in this case, which is not a problem. If anyone can take some time out to help me here would be appreciated greatly. Thanks.
  4. Hi guys, Just curious as to wear you'd have to go or if its even possible to tint the rear tail lights of your car to black? I have an R34 25GT (2 door) and i wish to make the inner and outer circles black or atleast a shade of black, while obivously still retaining the light comming through at both day and night. I know theres specific places for certian models where you can buy shadow and "smoked" lenses for your cars, but im not too sure there is a smoked rear tailight revision for 34's. And yes i HAVE seen it done, i wish i had a picture but i saw it on the road, but as whack as it sounds on a 34, with the white paintjob it looks sweet! If a DIY was to be done, how would you go about it, any help at all on this would be appreciated! Thanks

Will take pics of mine soon and post them up White R34 with matt black 18" rims, will get my Bomex bodykit installed within the next 8 weeks, (have to wait for the rear bar to come from overseas, that delays me 5 weeks ) I will post my current set up ( practically stock) and when i redo my car all those weeks later if this thread is still alive i will post my future set up, with hood, front, rear, sides, lowered slightly, tinted windows etc etc all done. just keep this thread alive! its an awesome thread and it really shows the N/A scene here. Although personally a stock GTR looks far hotter than all our n/a's put together haha....damn those super sexy gtr's!
  6. i pushing out a measely 123rwkw with my 34 n/a...its not very impressive haha.i got a straight 2.5" all the way down that gives it a good kick and some other lil things hear and there. really want to know what engines are a good fit for skylines....other than RB's
  7. so your saying it has same dimensions and can still fold up and down electronically like the current factory one does? cause im not sure it will fit by the looks...it looks great though, i really wish someone had a solution in victoria regions...gah...even the guys at alpine couldnt help they said it can be done but blowing the tv in it can be very likely down the track. son of a ...

Yeh man, 32's clearly gonna be wasted and 33's not gonna be the greatest, ifi need an engineer's report im gonna have to get it done for a new model meaning 34 model RB26...so i'd assume they have alot less issues in terms of reliability and they would be in a better condition than most since not everyone can afford the R Thing is id have to get a custom sump n stuff to get it to work rear wheel yeh? thats gonna be a lot of work if a buy a full package engine...gah...probs not worth it.   9. Hey guys, where can you find places where they sell the RB25DET engines....or RB26DETT's? Want to chuck in something into my car thats got more power since im getting about 122rwkw out of my N/A powahhh RB25DE in my 34, 25GT. I reasearched the facts of redoing an N/A and for the amount of money you spend i might aswell dump a nice fat RB25DET or 26DETT in there to muck around with. Although thered be alot less work throwing in a 25DET i'd assume (ecu's, clutch, trans, brakes etc etc) and the 26DETT might be a bit overkill specially since i don't have the nice program that allows the traction to be diverted to the front when needed : haha...damn gtr's!!! Also the part im specifically searching for is that they are under 70 thous K's or lower if possible, want the cleanest engine i can get my hands on. i know the 26's will be much better in condition (for the price jump you'd expect it) but yeh..thats the basics of it. My current RB25DE has run a nice low 35 thousand legit k's so i wouldnt mind even selling that, what do you think i could get for that as a side question? Anyhow, probs been posted somewhere but i can't find it cause im noobish, can anyone help me?? thanks in advance.
  10. my mate, has a set of mickey's on the rear end of his Vy that hes taking to the Calder Naitonals on the 30th...hes used em on the road before...and by jesus...those things grip, hes pushing roughly 550BHP out of his stock lookin Vy and whenever anyone even Gtr's alike come for a run against him on the street they get blow away by the tremendous traction he can pull with those suckers! P.s. If theres a slight once of rain on the ground good luck getting anywhere cept round a nice clean pole. and going a bit off topic i thought you were selling your 34 man? or is this a new one??? but by all means Mickey Thompsons are the way to go for any straight line events.

Thought you were selling your bottle of juice? what happened to it? and yeh the laws here in Vic are super....tight i should say....they come down hard now...1000 bucks, then 5000, then they sell your car....so its not worth the risk or i too would be one of those 18-20 year olds with a 34 GT-R that being said i posted this to see what i can do without cops noticing when they open the hood, they havn't seemed to evolve too much other than harsher penalties and more regular pull overs. That being said i'd much rather a 25DET than a 25DE, but i thought if possible to pull good power from it than it would be something moreso unique than that of the DET's you see plenty of now days in any state. thanks for all the inputs guys. been helpful.
  12. thanks guys, much appreciated, it was a long shot but hmm, i just wanted ideas, trust me i have looked around, we even thought going the whole boar and stroke, blueprinting the engine and supercharging it but...thats something im Reasearching right now Eug Money is not an issue here, might be young, but arn't the younger people in these threads going to be carrying on the skyline traditions? (call me a die hard fan) :S Either way when im off my p's i already have enough money to buy my R34 GTR....why stop there when i can save up for a 35 these days it's not the money its the change, and if it can't be done then i would stop here on my search, but i know it can be done. Well the money thing isn't entirely true, Eug, if i were to take any money out of my GTR 34 savings i would most certainley mod the hell out of my current 34 and show you what you want to see lol, but thats a long shot, you'd be the first to find out if i did it! Anyhow thanks for all the help....ill keep looking into alternatives and direct inputs.

Hey guys, i have a practically stock R34 2 door 25GT, was wondering if anyone has pushed out a good 200rwkw out of their N/A's for these cars, cause so far i only seen the highest being 162 odd RwKw in the threads. That being said how much would it cost to push out 200+ Kw out of an RB25DE?... I know there are different methods and techniques to get power out of these engines, alot of my mates and mechanics alike have said this path isn't worth going down, but i thought trying here would benfit and possibly give me new hope to redoing this engine. And if anyone is going to tell me just buy a 34 GTT or save up for the RB25DET, its not really an option for me because i wanted to do this as something unique and something that will get attention for being non turbo yet equally powerful to a turbo model. It's something different to me and something i wish to do if possible. If anyone has N/A engines pumping out over 200+ or even above 180+KW @ wheels on similar models can you please tell me what you did and how much it costs!????? it would be greatly appreciated! Hey, i don't know if this has been posted anywhere, but i have a R34 25GT 2 door, (a new white one, not my black one) and on this model it has an electronic "tv/nav" system display int he dash (where the GTR computer is on GTR) I think the 4 doors have them too. Anyhow i was wondering how to tune to oz frequencies so i pick up our television broadcasts, or radio, i know you have to get it done somewhere, but where? and how much can it cost, is it possible to get the TV rewired to PAL instead of the NTSC format its in? i dont see why not.... Thanks for the help in advance.
  19. yeh thanks guys, i have driven a R32 GT-R before, my cousin has one, i know it snot the same but i can drive them quite well i have a passion for that stuff. And yes i know it would be expensive part of the costs = part of the fun redoing it but you are definately right, it is a hassel doing some of the things. As for the brakes i am importing some big 8 piston caliper Brembos from singapore next year brand new front and backs done with a full new system. thatd cost around 4500, but thats one of the many things i wanted to do. I guess when im off my P's ill probably buy a GT-R not a GTT, my dad was thinking about buying one but he would be the daily driver and i wasnt to keen on having our main car being screwed over, so i decided to sell my car (Holden VS) buy an R34 25GT and keep two cars in our garage still while having money later for a cheaper 34GTR, (or as i mentioned a full redo of the engine on the RB25DE) anyhow thanks for the help guys, much appreciated.
  20. Yeh i was just about to say theres 3 of em in Australia, as said above. NRG, the closest to you is NSW, they do all the tunning. Cant believe theres not even a HKS acredited dealer is Victoria how lame! Do you think some at some stage there will be a proper HKS dealer in Vic? cause it would make it alot easier to get parts in the future since i love HKS

  23. Hey guys, this is just a question out of curiosity and something i want to work on from now until im off my P's so i can have all the parts (or most of them) ready to install down the track. The question in simple is...What does it take to turn an RB25DE into an RB25DETT...i know theres a bit of work involved in doing this since its an N/A engine. What are the parts list, price range..over $15G, $20, $50 overall? etc etc What needs to be done to the engine first off to run the turbos? Has any of the SAU members taken on this endeavour, or have they gone for full engine swaps? And Lastly if none of the above can be answered properly then my next resort is going for an RB26DETT, and for that question its where can you buy a fairly new or newish one. (Ive seen the R33 RB26DETT N1 for 13G brand new. But i have a 34 so legally i cant go below the age of the car. ) Right now this is about planning and cost estimations. Thank you to anyone that takes time out to answer these quesitons for me.

Thanks guys, yeh i live in Victoria, Melbourne probably get a good response if i post there but i was hoping maybe to find places i can even ship from overseas or interstate to get better response. Thanks anyhow much appreciated, does DMD have a site i can maybe look at? cant really take the car to brissy unless they ship parts.
