  1. Hey guys, Does anyone know what the Tomei Phase 2 RB26 2.8 stroker puts out from teh engine? I saw the US price on one and it says its 28 thousand. Just wanted to know what power it makes, i really want to buy a GTR when im off p's and will, but i think if i can order one of these and screw around with my car a bit i would do this. Does anyone know the power output or could someone better yet tell me if Nissan still sells the RB26 engine that you can buy straight from them??? and how much they roughly are.
  2. If there was a rwd 26, like those 180's they use for drifting probs but they have alot of other work done to them. Just for eg. if it was in a 34 25GT or GTT stock, and there was GTT 34 with RB25DET then you'd be right, it would most likely take the 25 out 9/10 times depending on the driver and how he is. But to put one in rwd...custom sumps etc i don't know why you would, by the time you upgrade the brakes if its not a GTT etc and get all the other thousand and 1 parts for it to run well, you might aswell have bought a 34GT-R. Trust me, i am down this path right now with my 34....and i don't know wether to wait for a 34GTR or to build one from the ground while im waiting on my p's....if you factor money out id rather much have the fun and gratification of building it myself in that respect...that and i lack patients! hehe Oh soz, just an edit by RB28 do you mean like a 25/26 top end and 30 bottom end?? cause in that case i seen those jump into 800+hp on a rebuild easy, costs alot though aswell....
  3. Pretty sure 25GT is 2 piston fronts, and GT-T's etc are 4... Although i don't know about the rears. Also the GT is diff to the 25GT. A R34 GT uses the RB20DE engines whereas the R34 25GT is RB25DE, I would assume people knew that already and that it was left out ( i assumed when typed GT everyone meant 25GT?) Also by my understanding the list of 34's (non GT-R & decending in order from N/A to FI) are: ER34 GT ER34 25GT ER34 GTFOUR - (Thought GTFOUR is the RB25DE (non turbo) AWD model) ER34 GT-T ER34 GT-V - ( Thought GT-V is the RB25DET (turbo) AWD model) There cold be more models...or is it that im wrong and GTFOUR and GT-V are one in the same??? im so confused now! gaah.
  4. VR38DETT> RB26DETT > VQ38DETT > RB25DET > SR20DET etc etc etc.... > than a bicycle > than using legs > being disabled > than being dead! Also im not suprised about the nissan micra thing! thats why i asked.... now all thats left to see is the Nismo racing stripes painted on a wheelchair and im set for suprises....
  5. Wow Eug!!! this went so far off topic sorry man, just wanted some opinions and i got a full blown argument going over Fi vs N/a...gah, my bad. If you want me to end this thread to put it simply, i went and got a qoute for a LS1 V8 twin turbo set up, best of both worlds...cubic inches...forced induction...i can still play around with the engine as if it was an N/a engine before the twins...i can leave it until im off p's...the only thing i have to really wait for is the news on weather i can fit it in the engine bay, if i get the go ahead, thats what im doing. If the engine bay has ot be modified then obviously theres the problem of Vic Roads meddling and EPA'ing the vehicle and stating that there has been 'structural damage' therefore my car will never be roadworthy, other than that, fingers crossed! I do appreciate everyone that stuck on the ball and helped me out, especially since Eug pretty much wrapped this story up with me quite a while ago when the thread started. Either way FI or NA the majority of us are Nissan owners with the same passions for our vehicles, don't loose sight of that and fight within the groups, cause i think we have alot more to offer than that. Although for me now its the morals of changing over to a GM engine, I, don't think i can look at my skyline and go thats a skyline if i do it....and well, i love my skylines, it may ruin the experience of owning one, or it could open up a whole new door to tunning in my eyes...i just don;t know yet, but either way, my goals are to own a 34 GTR before i start a family, and thats a must on my to do list, so either way if i compromise on this one for the experience than i have patience to wait for my GT-R. I think it smore of an aproval im waiting for form other members to push me in th eright direction really.
  6. LOL...i dunno, soz i was bored....knowing Vic Roads hidden rules n shit, we probably loosing demerits for posting here haha! beware of the hidden vic road ninjas!
  7. Hey babycakes, i hope you get of your P's soon enough cause man your gonna get fried like a potato at a fish n chip shop, hard n fast served with all the mods n the turbo! im quite suprised you managed to sneak around all this time... You know first time offence for power to weight is now 1000 bucks, second time 5000, third time they sell your car...it will be enforced soon enough for us to whinge a bit more. I pray for you NRG, i also envy you in everyway possible, you are living the p plate dream, wear those green p's high with pride lol
  8. Nah it is, thanks mate, i appreciate your time you take to write here Will figure it out...will need to stuff around a little with it, might see what it looks with it on. And for reference...i tried fitting my fist under and i can!!! its pretty high up, i thought i was exhagerating but it fits...if i get my card reader to work ill take a pic and send it over your way.
  9. Sounds like a question i'd ask lol....good to see someone else doing it for the team *chucks flame suit on aswell and jumps into the oven* hehe With that being said, what is a good quality catback to purchase???? Me has teh 2.5" from the cat on my N/A 34 Other than the obvious, what would be the benefits of changing it over the stock? (well the fitted stock one) *closes oven door and cries*
  10. Has anyone thought of wasting heaps of money an buying a micra and transplanting the engine with that of a Sr20, RB26, VQ35??? LOL....that'd be madest car around! Nismo should take on the challenge *Introducing the new Nismo Micra S -Tune* To see the faces at the lights when you spool your turbo's for the green would be priceless! If only the engine bay could be a lil bigger *takes out project book and thinks*
  11. Don't get me wrong, i can wait, i don't mind, and i am saving up, i wanna do LS1 V8 conversion with the decompression and add twin turbo set up. (something diff) and i am getting qouted for it as we speak. Should be around 15 thous to do which gives me time to build the engine then when i put it in i can work on tranny, diff, clutch, looms, all the rest of it....blah blah I just hate vic roads..its not that they introduced these p's its the fact that they confuse the living crap out of everyone..they do not makr anything clearly..and their website is utter crap...when approaching cops at police station even they don't know what vic roads is up to, the only people that have any idea is highway patrol which i was lucky enough to ge tpulled over by and loose all my points...anyhow im sitting on 1 point after going to court for hitting a tree in my old 34...it wasnt my fault and i admit i had bad judgment and lack of control (aka why i did defensive driving courses and became much wiser when i drive than mos tother p platers) Thing is i got done for ruining my own car...at 2 am in carrumn downs...i didnt drive over the limit...i just had my traction control switch off, wet thin cheap tyres (below stock grading) and just slipped from underneath me on a turn, i admit to not taking the turn well either..... But still the cops came couldnt do anything and 3 months later BANG i have to go to court for wreckless driving!!! ridiculous no one else was with me...no one saw...no one was harmed nothing! even an investigator that was an ex cop could not find anything wrong at the scene and therefore my insurance paid me i lost 5G's and i bought another skyline that se me back.... I then went and redid my p plate test to get manuals cause i felt like auto was rubbish and i didnt have the same control i did with manual (long story why i didnt get manuals in first place, had cancer comming out of yr 12) but yeh....they don't go easy on you, and i did the right thing, i was in a non turbo...i did everything asked...i didnt buy a GTT (which is same price) and still got shat all over by vic roads. now i have passenger restrictions (fair enough) no points i drive with 1 point given to me for 12 months i had my licence suspended, and for what? it didnt teach me anything other than to not call the cops and tell them that you crashed....cause they make shit up....And all they can follow are vic road laws for p platers...this is why i despise these laws. There are real dipshits on the roads, and we all know that that do ridiculous stuff, and half of them get away with literally dangerous and unsafe driving EVERYDAY.... I have nothing against what you said i thought id bring more light to the matter of why i posted my first comment though Sorry for the long ass story.
  12. i envy your blue strip on top of your licence i will do anything for a full licence...i have to wait till 2010 cause i got sick otherwise i would have them next year...gahhhh, wanna swap identities??? You get a cool shiny green plate to stick on your car if you trade with me! how mad is that??? On the letter they give it says "arrive alive" but ya know...i dun wanan arrive alive with this shit on my car anymore
  13. Im going all aftermarket on my green p's ass, im spraying mine blue!!! might add a few Kw to the wheels... im hopping so anyhow Man i think its kinda stupid that we get them....like you'd think it would be easier for us to retain our P plates (red) and just give the new ones to the newer p platers. I don't know how this is going to come out on the back of my tinted windows either. Might not even show. Im doing one of the 6 steps involved aswell! im writing a letter on my Red p's and sending it into Vic roads to tell them just how much they suck balls. Hate Vic roads with a passion.....i don't know if anyone else is with me on that, but i had alot of bad run ins with them, and yeh....just absolutely dogs balls service and they all look like they been poppin bikkies the night before when you see em working (down at south oakliegh anyhow) Just my 2 cent's... Think i might put up my old L's my red P's and my Green ones jus to confuse the shit out of everyone, cause i pretty much am dead set confused, i know we retain the old laws...but when the new p's for 1st of July and after drivers come out...what do they get after the first year is over????!!!!! (since they have 4 years) do they get green p's too!? (like NSW)...but thing is even then, they still have newer laws when they'll be on greenies....which makes no sense, therefore will there be 3 types of P plates now ????!! gah.... someone at vic roads needs to be publically excecuted for this.
  14. thats pretty tight fitting man, i was hopping a good fist maybe...since right now i could probably fit a small child between the guards and the tire.... Then again it would look alot better, but like some people have said and myself, i think i don't want it too low cause they look gay....and als the fact that bomex kit kinda sweeps the roads as is...so ya...not too sure.. i will se ehow it goes, still waiting on the bodykit but should be resolved within the month Thanks for all the inputs ^.^
  15. Amen to that....you know what....the other day i saw a GTR badge on a 350Z and i just cried....you know i hate those honda civics with the ricer sides and HKS everywhere n all that when they don't even have one single HKS part on their car etc...and i always want to beat the crap out of those guys (sorry to anyone that does that on here and is reading this) But this 350Z....omfg...im suprised i restrained myself to getting out and hitting the guy, fair enough if he had an RB26 in there or something but as if!! it was dead stock VQ crap....I just hope that guy is mentally impaired and thinks hes driving a GTR....cause otherwise someone needs ot badge his car for the general public's benefit. Oh btw he comes from NSW....not Vic...not that i have anything against NSW ..half my fmaily live in sydney, just think sydney peeps have alot more whacky cars over there.
  16. That'd be one sweet intercooler in there then wouldn't it hehe Now that you mention it it looks very low sweeping, but yeh not a fan of the new Z's (meaning all current ones from the last decade) at all, just thought it was intresting concept to bring attention to.
  17. gah in that it still retains alot of the 350Z styling....rats, and here i was hoping that nissan took a bold turn for the Z series. Personally i like the front of the Orange one, the more i look at it the more hot it becomes! But the link shown probs is a more reasonable and more 'likely' candidate for the next Z. When i saw the GTR Proto, i hated it, i wanted to die in a hole, but somehow betwen now and then they managed to seriously refine the R35 and with a little bit of refined taste i have come to love the design of the R35, so much so i respect the styling they chose to advance from the R34, although i think they really did try and retain most of the bodywork to that of a 350Z. Anyhow, it made me think that Nissan is getting back on the ball with its designing. Love to see a new Silvia haha...then Nissan would complete me once again.
  18. Hey, im a P plater, i bought a R34 N/A...and yeh i realise you have only 10 grand to spend, so you might not get one of them, but what about a clean R31/32, well as clean as you get for 10G's. I rather have a trashed 31/32 than be caught even driving that thing, man when i was looking at it i kinda felt embarrassed looking at it just then, i felt like i was looking at gay porn even though im clearly straight so i just closed the window asap, sorry. To be quite honest with you. Buy a Euro kart (...a go kart) slap some HKS stickers on the side with a few blitz and sparco stuff you can find. get some sparkle glue (you can find it at any decent stationary store, try officeworks, i can give you a discount aswell since i work there) Put that on the sides, and then get some led's from your christmas tree (if you have some) and wrap em around the underneath of the chassis for your kart. NOW HERES THE IMPORTANT PART!!!! Buy my R34 tailights so i can buy my nismo ones, then strap these to your shoulders while you drive your go kart, (maybe you can wire them up to light up while you drive round in style!) You not only have a car (well technically it is a automobile of sort) with Skyline tailights on it when you drive but it will probably look hotter than any honda you find on the road, and will probably beat most of them preludes aswell. Don't get me wrong if he wants that Prelude, all he has to do to finish the look of the car is to sh1t on the roof and rub it in librally and evenly to prevent people from seeing whats underneath! On the upper hand from the back, people will think you swapped out your RB engine for a kawasaki motorbike engine...now thats UNIQUE!!!
  19. Forgive me Ferrari, Theres only one other car that touches my heart other than Skylines, and thats the F40. I love my Ferrari's i never ever talk down about them, but as of recently they are bringing out let down after let down. Personally i think out of the modern Ferari's the Enzo should have been designed similar to the F40/50 and named the obvious name of F60, cause i bet you Enzo himself is spewing in his grave. (although i think its a great car in its own respects, nothing wrong with it at all, but to call it an Enzo???!) Secondly out of the modern Ferrari's the F430 and the 612 Scaglliette (Forgive me if i spelt it wrong) should be the only ones allowed to see daylight. This new California is a mockery of the old prestigious Ferrari's that once were... To be put quite simply this contraption (and i use the term lightly in this case since its Ferrari) reminds me of a Porsche Boxter/BMW Z4 from the side pic. A Toyota MR2 (current shape) from the front. And something that Volswagon would think about producing if they decided to bring out a new Beetle from the rear. Not a fan of soft tops either, i think they take away from the essence of the cars framework. Although im sure the performance better matches what you pay for. But at the end of the day i think Ferrari is going backwards with all their endeavours, I'd much rather a 35 GTR anyday over any of the current Ferrari's, i'd only take one for the Badge and saying i own a Ferrari, then again, Hand me a F40 or 50 and ill drop my house and everything i have to own that! Sorry to all those that are fans of the '350 California' and love this car, its just my 2 cents and i think i had to say that, because as a Ferrari die hard fan myself, (i have everything Ferrari cept the car itself lol), i think i had to get this off my chest because Ferrari have been disapointing me time and time again with their developments, hopefully they get back on their horse (no pun intended) and start to give back Ferrari a decent name especially for their loyal customers that will spend anything to get one. don't flame me for this! like i said above, love Ferrari....just skeptical about their future as a prestigious car company and where they are heading. On a lighter note i hope they take the constructors championship in F1!
  20. was thinking the same! They look like the new W427 Rims from Holden.
  21. Hey guys, I saw This floating around the net and a few resources confirm that this is not as fake as i thought it out to be at first glance. Apprently its powered by the VQ37 (rumoured) has a shorter wheel base (4 Inch) etc etc..and is a full revamp over the current 350Z that it will replace. Looks basically like a concept 350Z but could this be like the looming pics of the 35 GT-R that came out months before specualation even bagan of a new GT-R Anyhow heres the pic, let us know what you think of this.... Release is meant to be sometime next year. And yes i realise its not a real picture haha, but there is a spy shot of the real thing going around with the shorter wheel base, covered, but with interchangeable 350Z tail and front lamps...
  22. Hey, i didnt really read the whole thread, to see if it was mentioned already, but is the R34 GT-V considered rare?? from what i recall in non GT-R it goes like so: R34: .GT .25GT .GT FOUR .GTT .GT-V -200 &? (i think its 00 -01) Theres is a silver one at a place in victoria for sale at a car dealership, i just wish i waited a month or so longer and i could have bought it myself! They came painted in Bayside Blue aswell like the GT-R's as a factory option.
  23. ah oh k...i didn't even think about that to be honest, yeh i wouldnt have thought they would settle and lower another 1-2 cm more, thanks for the heads up
  24. Thanks NRG, you always seem to come to my rescue haha that pic should give me a good idea of what i can do with my car, i got 18"s so i will work around that, thanks adam as well for the actual vic road report cause that helps clarify things too. Ill tell the guys not to dorp it past the lowest point of 100mm anyhow, theyll hoist it up and check it out while we are there, but like i said, i don't want it too low, cause sometimes they look ridiculous, especially since its not a performance gain or anything by doing it, just want those gaurds around the tires to be more flush all round. Thanks for everyones help i think im pretty set here with that matter, the kit should come by end of this month so fingers crossed when i drop it, i don't get a yellow sticker when pulled over thanks again guys.
  25. Well thats exactly what i was going for, black bonnet, white 34, matt black rims, smoked side and front indicators (Gen Nismo) with the finishing touch being EXACTLY like the tailight finish on those 350z's would make it quite unique. Thing is i would imagine the 34 light would be harder to do without the runs than the 350 lights, especially the buffering part, so im a bit put off by the fact that I might screw it up. I wouldn't mind paying someone to do it for me if they have done it before. NRG if you can get some pics by any chance when you finish your mates 34 and post em or send em my way would be great! This is exactly the finish i want on my lights 100%. I've only seen em like i said on the road and i havn't seen a good shot of them up close to see if they look dodge or not. Thanks for that Nrg that was really helpful
