  1. lol, when i get round to wanting to learn the intricacies of bird seed, I'll do a budgie course.
  2. no probs Nene, I'll help you out if I can..........and probably not a bad idea to get a couple of old fuglys in there with you sorry MLC
  3. Hence why (as radical as it is) my bike is completely ADR approved. As much as I've been tempted to remove certain stickers for show purposes (see below), I haven't or else they are no longer approved brake lines.........they could then be anything!
  4. Hey Tangles, I agree that guys like Stewy got the raw end of the deal. Unfortunately police are able to by-pass engineer's certificates and send you directly to Regency purely on suspicion that you've further modified your vehicle, beyond the certificate........harsh, but that's the way it is. As far as reconsidering, my door is never fully closed, BUT, at this stage we seem to be calling for a meeting and no one has yet defined to me what their exact expectations are for the outcome of this meeting. I mean, we're not even sure what questions to ask yet so to me it comes across as a meeting for meetings sake (which I get enough of during the week) and when all is said and done, usually more is said than done. We've already established that we are not going to change their minds in relation to defects for illegal mods, so give me a light at the end of the tunnel and I may reconsider......but don't hold your breath!
  5. haha, too true
  6. haha, the Chicago bit was a bit tongue in cheek, hence the "lol" at the end
  7. sorry it's a bit off topic but thanks Roo.........send me a PM whenever you're ready if you like. EDIT: That's a good thought Mathew......or at least a good platform to start
  8. this last page needed a severe clean up guys as we all (including myself) got way off topic
  9. Problem is Roo, his biggest nightmare may become a reality.....rather than splitting these gangs up and sending them interstate, clubs that hated each other are now joining forces......who would've ever thought?! Another outcome he'd be dreading would be if they started to turn their focus on the public when they used to war amongst each other.......if they all join forces, we could see another Chicago of 80 years ago, lol
  10. I always thought a Mods job was to moderate a forum. As far as meetings or police notification of cruises go, I thought I made myself very clear on the matter a long time ago. Whether anyone liked what Cubes had to say on the matter back then is irrelevant to me, but I like to look beyond the tip of my nose and could see where he was coming from......now, months down the road, he could easily come back here and say, "I told you so!" If you keep sticking your hand in the lion's den, eventually he bites........lol, what a snowball effect! Don't get me wrong, I'm all for getting involved and making a difference if I can see any light at the end of the tunnel, but I also like to pick my battles. If anyone thinks this is a negative attitude, then please tell me specifically what is the exact outcome of this meeting that you are seeking. If it's to get this fella to ease up on defecting vehicles (which is what has sparked this row & thread in the first place) then you will walk away sadly disappointed because North Tce make the rules, not this fella and not his Sarg.
  11. the Freedom campaign is a can of worms that he probably wishes never reared it's 4 ugly heads..........I've got no idea how Rann's new laws will finish up or how they will be able to effectively enforce them..........I'll sit back and watch me thinks.
  12. haha, brilliant description Dave........I was picturing the old Sierras doing just that, as I read your post. Because of the very famous Godzilla clouding people's thoughts and memories, people actually forget that they were a serious animal as well.
  13. too true Cronic.........I'm jumping on that bandwagon as well!
  14. Good post Simon.....that's the key I think, trying to find a willing polly.....you'll know if he is or isn't within 5 mins of speaking to him (or her). Optimism is always good to have Vu but it should always be mixed with a teaspoon of reality.......but all the best with all your efforts.
  15. I will also remove my hat from the ring. Your main objective appears to be a want for this fella to go easy on your cars which would be denying him his job and furthermore, I hardly think he needs to be told how to do his job by the Director of SA Investigations. We're almost on the same team and would probably know similar people in the job so it could be construed as a slight conflict of interest.
  16. you seem to have a select memory Rok.......I deleted the 2nd half of the first sentence after the unsubstantiated allegation regarding a certain officer's income. As far as your opinion goes (regardless of whether I or anyone else agrees), it is still your opinion and you are entitled to it, hence why I didn't remove the rest of your post.
  17. Careful Rok, I've cleaned up the first part of your post and contemplated deleting the whole thing. I know it's just a knee jerk reaction to how you say you were handled, but unless you know something that we don't, then it's just hearsay bud!
  18. Well done Lee & Adrian. Can you list the mods that were required for the changeover?
  19. That last question would be a good one to put to him even if it's just to put some of your minds at rest. Correct Tim. The answer to his expectations lies in the sentence extracted from his response to Nene. Now he's clearly a traffic constable that may not have an issue with the SAU cruises as long as the vehicles that attend comply with ADR's and the members comply with road regs. He may even turn a blind eye initially to a minor defect (not a major one) after making an effort to point it out to you, but you will then be required to attend to that matter immediately. The one thing you shouldn't overlook is that Neil is not only obliged but required by law and his superiors to perform his paid duty. Nene well done for your effort, Benny Boy must be very proud of you.
  20. I've got a 34 GTR Nismo front bar for sale.............................with the rest of the car attached
  21. Yeah I agree, well said. I agree that the well being of the economy, education and health must come first.....I just wish they would take a good look and redirect some of the govt spending for trips, hotels, dining, etc.....not to mention the ridiculous super schemes & retirement plans these pollys have waiting for them! harsh reality unfortunately.....in their defense though, I'm sure they think they're doing both.
  22. you're not a newbie Dave so take a quick squiz at the forum rules bud....feel free to take advantage of the WTB section though. Thread Closed
  23. lol, that seems to be happening more & more these days Deano. I wonder how many have been to Regency for minor things that could've been lifted at the local cop shop
  24. yeah might've been the Sierras I was thinking of
  25. Damo, I think you're starting to understand the differences between what is law and what is actually enforced
