  4. lol mate......go back & have a look at post 117.........I've already explained why there were so many deaths back then!! rofl at these meaningless stats
  5. at least you acknowledge where you're at in relation to your driving skills which is a good start.............unfortunately there's too many teenagers that don't and then it's usually too late you can makes stats say anything you want them to........if you dig deeper with those stats, you'll possibly find that there are alot more licenced 35+ than licenced teenagers
  6. only prob is, he bought them used and I'm wondering if he definitely did get B Poncams
  7. in 1974 nobody wore a seat belt you could do 10 mph over the limit and just get a warning (10mph = 16kph) cars weren't designed with crumple zones major intersections didn't have traffic lights roundabouts??? what were they? alcohol limit was .08 if my mum knew the local copper, he would go easy on me and give me a full licence P plates??? what were they 8 questions & 4 diagrams to get your L's I could write a book if you like! Hope that answers your question moneypit
  8. the guy on Damo's link is actually asking the same question................Luke, how do you know they are type B's
  9. can anyone identify these numbers found on a couple of cams as to what they are exactly? A2691XR A2691N stamped on the back of each cam

  13. haha, yeah someone here took a funny pic of me on a sports bike that just didn't look right, lol and I take your point on the other stuff in the latter part of your post..................only cause you made me laugh
  14. haha well done Darren....that's a little similar to the way I scored mine. A guy in Sydney put a decent deposit down for an importer to bring it over then when it landed, he couldn't come up with the rest of the cash, so I flew over and drove it straight back

haven't been following the thread Damo, do have an update on the blanks yet?
  16. mate you are definitely buying a round of beers next time we go to the Tonsley!
  17. we actually had AIR in those days to take it off the streets.....but that's another can of worms. You may have missed my point though Son, what I'm trying to say is that when I don't drive a high powered car, I don't have anywhere near the urge to hit the loud pedal as hard, but in the GTR I do, hence why kids in turbo cars are more likely to do something silly than a kid in an under powered 4 cyl. If you're a kid in a turbo car, you're more likely to want to drag people at the lights as opposed to being in a car that has no chance at all, not to mention that there's more chance of wanting to show off in front of the mates.
  18. hmm, sounds like someone got up your nose Dale?!
  19. lol Son, that hurt my brain simple answer to a long post: I have 4 cars and 1 motorcycle but only ever get the urge to put my foot down in one of them........see if you can guess which one?!
  20. Le Mans on channel 502
  21. i'm guessing vegetable to
  22. far out...if that happened in Aust, they would put you up in a nice hotel with at least 1 meal a day at the airlines expense.....happened to 3 of us in Sydney a few years ago and ended up in the Hilton overnight with all we could eat in their alacarte dining that night.
  23. good point.....so what do you do???...........enforce restrictions and let them squeal, at least they'll be around to try and talk some sense into their own kids 1 day!
  24. big brakes & handling didn't save the teenager in the WRX nor the teenager in the 31. There's no way a teenager who's still popping zits going to have the years of driving experience and defensive skills that either me, Roo or Dangerman have! If a knee jerk reaction is what's required, then so be it.......if it saves just 1 kid it was well worth it for that set of parents. Horror videos etc are already in place if you go for a bike licence these days, but as Roo said, too many teens think they are invincible and that nothing will hurt them. A major crash at a young age can sometimes have a positive outcome (ie lead to a valuable lesson) which is the case with Shane and his quote below, but some kids won't learn from other peoples mistakes until their own mistake eventually catches them out.
  25. any pics for 26, twin, low, internal?
