  1. looks like they've dumped it all in your lap Nene.........good on you for wanting to get this resolved. I'd like to know with what authority this Neil fella is coming to you with, ie what is his ranking? (at the end of the day his hands may be tied to do anything for you).....is this part of a wider program that he and other teams are involved in or he a standalone?........if he's not a high ranking officer, does he have the backing of the station's Sarge?.........and ultimately, what is his agenda or vision for an outcome from his involvement. I'm sure he has a life of his own and won't always be on duty during cruises so who attends on those particular nights and who can guarantee the same leniency.
  2. correct, just turned to Rides on channel 610
  3. as for helmets.........in a car, $50 (open face) at Hyperformance Cycles............on a bike, consider spending up to 10 times that amount
  4. Formula D starts now on channel 517
  5. a sub-forum with permission to the approved and well known eh.... whether that would work or not would be up to the mods to decide but at least you are coming up with alternative ideas Vu, well done
  6. me likey, well done guys EDIT: I know this is SAU but I'd love to do a bike calendar one day..........only problem is that Roo has about 10 bikes lol, and there won't be any room for me.........not to mention that we would only sell 2 calendars on this forum
  7. thanks Kevin...........so where does the Tech Wax 2.0 fall into the final equation?
  8. that thing will be a monster with no expense spared I reckon
  9. is one better than the other? and has anyone done a 26/30 with a Getrag hanging off it? Hey Luke, get a price for 2 bud
  10. I think we all need to take a hold of what Matt (moderator) was trying to get across. As little as 10 years ago, organized cruises occurred once in a blue moon by older car enthusiasts, the high performance turbo cars were not affordable amongst the younger ones and there's no way they could afford the big $$$ to make their v8's stand out. Times have clearly changed where a 17 year old can now afford a car that they clearly cannot handle. This very fact is why we have the extra heat on the import car scene these days......teenager killed in WRX is a perfect example. I do have a possible solution though that may satisfy both camps. A short while ago I had a chance to catch up with the organizers of the biggest regular cruises in Adelaide, Grant & Stephanie Zippel (they're older than me, lol). He has regular meets, once a month, without the dramas of police and unwarranted tag alongs. This is a direct quote from Grant Zippel: I think we can learn from those that have had success with this sort of thing but IMO, I think the SAU tag must be dropped from any privately organized cruise in the immediate future, or at least till this latest heat dissipates.
  11. the answer to your question lies in post #83 & #84 of this thread police notification
  12. I think he already does Nene
  13. I agree with that, we don't need to stuff up good discussion with gossip & hearsay
  14. lol Adam, come down in your Vette next time and I'm sure we'll all know who you are, haha
  15. In the eyes of the law...........yes In the eyes of the young hoons.........yes
  16. maybe I'm a little suspicious & cautious due to the nature of the job but I generally like to question things that don't sit right with me........Kellie has spoken to me on the phone and tried to put my concerns to rest but its not my car they'll go after so I'm more concerned for some of the other sensible car enthusiasts here that like to mod their rides but aren't hoons
  17. lol cronic, no one is going to read that........keep it short & simple bud
  18. I can't believe you made me print that off Carl
  19. I appreciate your efforts guys but I still have a reservation as to the ultimate agenda or why else would all bonnets be popped & regos be taken if hoon driving was the key agenda? You'll have to define that one to Roo.......I would think dangerous mods would be inside the boot (ie Nos) or externally (ie tyres, dark tint, & ride height). This is why Cubes & others are questioning the popping of the bonnets because ultimately, a young kid in a stock VN Commodore can do 160kph on Tapleys Hill Road also. The ultimate focus should be on (sorry kids) young drivers and their ability to handle their ride & their testosterone. The WRX in question would not have a fraction of the power that some of the Skylines have but still capable of high speed & a death trap in the hands of the (usually young) hoons. Falcodore owners are no different. If they are freaked out over the WRX saga (which I'm sure they are) then focus on driving behaviours........cars don't go fast, people do!!
  20. sorry to keep flogging a dead horse but this question is probably moreso directed to either Troy, Damo or Kevin. I was thinking that the Tech Wax 2.0 is the way to go as a final application but out of the following 3 products, (and I don't want to use all of them) which would you recommend for light fall out & light swirl marks prior to the final application?? Surface Prep
  21. yeah but he's a cheat Steve.....he eats g-forces for a living!! I reckon if his ride could do 250kph on turn 4 (at the back) he still wouldn't take his foot of the loud pedal!!
  22. ahh, I see Andrew made it after all.............one of the nicest Stags I've seen in Adelaide..................I'm almost a believer!!
  23. far out, you'll be there for awhile.....how many were made Carl?
  24. great pic Dave............I had no idea that Volvo had erected a new dealership at the rear of Big W ??
  25. lol, don't say I didn't tell ya Carl
