  1. i guess that would explain the really sloppy launch in my beast then huh... 3" = NO bottom end... bugger...
  2. i found that the narva cool-blue globes also have a shorter life span. Had some yellow-e standard ones in there for a while (pretty pale after the blue) but the lasted. Local auto shop guy says that the blue ones always have a shorter life - and there twice the price ! buggers who set these things up should be shot...
  3. I hooked a set of 55w driving lights into the factory fog light leads on my 32, and the factory switch had no worries with it at all, only problem is that as they are larger than the wattage of the low beam lights, they have to turn off when the headlights are dipped, so am in the process of installing another switch and relay to give high beam switching. and it is a B*** pain in the a&** trying to find ANY particular wire under the dash in these damn things... jeez! and Your right CMS Drifter, you can have any coloured light you like, as long as you can't see the source (ie globe, LED) from outside the car. Mate got pulled over about a week ago for a blue neon under his RX7, looked cool, even after moving it to a "safer" location...
  4. well i couldn't see the point in getting light rims etc. when on a two litre the best you can hope for is looks :-) oh well... 16" (both economic and cosmetic resons) ROH Adraneline in Shadow chrome - The ONLY colour for a silver beast... (Oh, and sorry about the backround... Flatmates....gawd...)
  5. Im with greg on this one - go for it - certainly can't make it go slower...
  6. there's certainly something to be said about power/weight ratios, thats for sure... and surley the plastic fantastic that they make toyotas out of HAS to give it a pretty attractive ratio, right? c'mon guys, power only gets you so far. After that it's gotta have style or individuality. and a stock corolla ? really.... you shoud be ashamed
  7. OK, my R32 cuts out at 180... thats it... gets there pretty quick (you guys are right about the 100+) but when the needle hits the top... forget it... but nismodified has a good point, when, in normal driving conditions, does ANYONE need that sort of speed? never ! so i think the philosiphy of getting to that speed as soon as possible should be everyone's. big words comin from an n/a driver i know, but we can all dream.... :burnout:
  8. ok, im feeling a little left out here, as the 2-litre model im stuck in presently is not a patch on the 25, but hey, its a skyline... and it still scares common-dores... what else do ya want?
  9. lets face it, insurance kills us all, but we'd be stuffed without it, right? as for my old man "If you crash and break both your legs, don't come running to me" but hey, i've been the innocent by-sitter in one srious crash already, and it's a bit of a sobering experience. So for now, n/s is by far the most long-lived option....
  10. i would have to agree that 3" is probably a *Little* bit of overkill for 2 litres... but it's not like its a 2-stroke requiring a tuned back-pressure, is it? i dunno... all the same, i am also aware that theres not much to do with that small capacity, but at my age, there is no way i can insure a forced aspro car of ANY sort, (but lets face it, after owning a Skyline, what else would you have?) so im trying to make the best of what i've got. The air intake is another matter, because im SURE you can't get too much air. And i fitted a pair of driving lights the other week, and found that behind the side intake of the GTR front bar (again, a waste on a GTS) is a gaping cavity with nothing in it. Would it be worth trying to tap the pod filter into this area, as it would then be drawing fully from the open air in front, which would obviously be the coldest. Anyone else tried this before? suggestions?
  11. well in that case, can you tell me what badges yours has? coz some ...unmentionable... has gone to all the trouble of RIPPING ALL MINE OFF !!! bastard... anyways, it was before i got it, and i have never seen another one (i live in a small town) close enough to work out what im meant to have. All i can see is the outlines on the front arches where the GT badges were.
  12. hi all... im relatively new to the Skyline world, having only just bought one ~6months ago, but like everyone else, am looking for more power... I only have an R32 GTS Type-S (RB20DE), so am not expecting miracles, but being beaten by any commodore is just embarrasing... Having read all of the previous posts on Exhausts/extractors/CAIs etc, im wondering whether its worth the effort of staying NA. All the same, When i bought the car, she already had a 3" high flow system, of some japanese origin, but i think the headers are only factory (not a manifold though). The air box on the 32 is fed from under the headlight assembly anyway, so would a CAI or Pod filter help at all? You guys sound like you'd know more about this than me, so any help will be great.. Cheers, Phil
