  1. id look at it from the angle that hes trying to save you some doe, and do the properley - wouldn't you rather wait a week, have the bolts loosened, and get it all out easily, or have him just ham-fistedly thump the ratchet with a hammer, risk cracking the turbo housing and costing you poetentialy thousands ?!? Id be thanking him, not looking to bag him with a second opinion.
  2. oh yeah, and as everyone has previously pointed out, doors are Waaay to heavy.
  3. im with chef_32 on the cup holders.. ANY would be nice.... -Like the interior though... old school, practical -the whole car feels SOLID - more so than many falcodore or eqiv. larger cars. - nice snug seating, im 6'1 and i don't have to much trouble... little bit short on the base for long cruises maybe.... -clean, direct steering - feels sporty (2.5 turns lock/lock is nice) -lets face it - ALL skylines have a kind of timeless shape.... -i don't find it too big though... -boot space is only JUST adequate - hockey goal keeper + "sound enthusiast" = big bag + 2 x 12" subs = jump-on-the-damn-boot-so-the-silly-thing-will-close !! other wise, i love it ! Turns heads, attracts cops, what else could a guy want?
  4. Sorry this took so long... been kinda busy this week.... but here they are - i think they give a better idea of how it looks.... didn't want to pull it out though, i didn't think id get it to stay in there again :headspin: "Im With Dodgy"
  5. ill take another couple tomorow - mounting plate too if your interested.
  6. This isn't the Boost controller, but i think the RSM is the same size?? even though there are no restricitions in WA about dash mounting, i didn't like the idea of having it stuck in the middle of my dash... all i've done here is remove the dashlight dimmer (which looked aftermarket anyway) and make a plate to fit in the holes left by pulling out those little plates. Cables all fit neatly into the dash and everything !
  7. come to think of it, "Pretzel" is probably more decriptive... or boomerang maybe...
  8. oh, that was about 4 yrs ago, in a little '84 corrola sedan - still got it, but is very much F*^$^&D !!, for lack of a more descriptive term....
  9. never had a funny acceident... seem to all go real bad... worst one i had was as a passenger... sistere driving, gravel rd, pebbly stuff on an s bend over a gully near where i used live (Porongurup if anyone knows where the HELL that is...) 50/60km/h, pretty slow really, she lost control, put the car side on into a big-ass tree. - Dead centered my door (left hand front) and pushed me onto the centre console. damage report kinda sucked - she split her lip - that was it... i broke 7 ribs, left hip in 5 places, and cut three extensor tendons in back of my left hand (covered my face = lucky) spent 6 months in hospital Needless to say, am a *remarkably* cautious driver with no crashes to my name yet - touch wood. phil
  10. i hate to sound nerdy guys, but head on a t 130, is still 130, not and 'effective' 260... it's like each car has hit a solid object at 130, as they theoreticaly have the same mass and energy dispersion characteristics, meaning each car is affected only by it's own inertia, not the others... but it's still naaaasty...
  11. dunno if its around, but i would have thought ANILE8 on any 9/10sec set of wheels would be ok. or on any set of wheels, just to keep 'em guessing ! also, you've all missed the classic V8EATR that i saw on a WRX STi a few years back... be fun to have. PS, Im actually looking at getting plates soon... keep the ideas coming !!
  12. whats with all these dash's that need recovering/painting ? mine's still in pristine condition... steering wheel is completely ratted though !! can't paint that but....
  13. cheers mate...
  14. i might just do that... im a sucker for the *bling*... where'd you source them, if you don't mind me askin' ? was it a private import job, or does someone actually stock those things?
  15. ok, went and saw my local enthusiast/mechanic and he seemed to think it was either the idler pulley or CAS - so we have two mechanics with the same view... good start... tomorow will start the tortuos task of finding the parts...
  16. ok, i know this thread is a bit cold, but where did it all end up? i can't seem to track it down... Sounds interesting though...
  17. BASSULA - Nice Work mate !! looked at the iceled kits when i was buying, but they were just a little out of my range Ended up with liteglo... only 8 colours, 1 at a time or cycling, but thinking of writing my own ROM for it... for now though... ICELED btw, Ill be up in the capital sometime in June - Should go cruisin... Cheers, Phil
  18. is that noise you heard only apparent when you step off the power ? right near the front of the block ? have a similar thing atm, and would agree, it sounds like a collapsed bearing in the tension adjust idler pully. Gonna get it looked at tomorow, ill let you know how it turns out.... can you let me know if you find out a price though? cheers Phil
  19. You have got to be sh@#ng me ! an R32 with a towbar.... Be careful, you might start a new craze... definite *NON* rice imports.... nice work.
  20. You'll have to enlighten those of us who don't live in the cdapital im Afraid... What you Packin' ?
  21. those colour codes must also apply to the R32's... my '32 GTS is KL0 .. and looks very simmilar to the oine above...
  22. I just fitted Yokohama A539's - Seem to be quite adequate , wet and dry. Possibly not as good in wet as i might have hoped though... very quiet on the road.
