  3. no I reckon this one is more appropriate
  4. I guess if you are hearing instance of mispronounciation in music, it would be from a songwriter trying to find an appropriate rhyme meter for a lyric. And so the corruption of the language continues unabated.
  5. funny you should mention that as I have been watching a doco on the Abc for the last 5 weeks called "Lost Worlds" and it has been about the formation of the English language. Did you know that when the Pilgrim fathers in America in 1620 they took great efforts to maintain the purity of the language they spoke. They borrowed relatively little from the natives, and the regional accents of the early settlers blended t Later, Scots and the Irish added their influence. As English spread across the North American continent, it also started to move away from the language spoken in England. At the end of the 18th century and in the early 19th century Noah Webster's Book of American Spelling standardised spelling across the United States. As settlers went west, new words and phrases developed, while African slaves introduced elements of their own native languages into the vernacular. However I am sure I have heard Americans pronounce tourniquet correctly and if it is being mispronounced you can't rule out that the speaker is just poorly educated.

  7. I am teh Sex Bomb
  8. thats okay thanks I can choose my own freak
  9. Umm no it is not. A badge is different by the very nature that it is verbally stating that "my car is this" when it is not. It is about deliberately misleading people who do not know any better. Yes, it is wrong to lie. But if you are lieing, then you can not whinge when you are caught out. Ummm no it is not, see above Missed the point again Rodney. Putting a body kit on a car is not verbally stating in written text that your car is something else. Plus a front bar can be put on for aerodynamic reasons and to allow for the fitting of a large FMIC. Bodykits, rims, paint, wings, etc etc, don't verbally state in written text so everybody can read, that the car is something that it is not. So definitely an irrelevant analogy on your part. who cares what their justification is for lieing, they are still liars.

  13. hahha nice looking car too, but why the badge? (p.s I made it bigger for you )
  14. and there is always one who misses the point It has got nothing to do with the visual appeal of someones car or lack thereof, it is about people lieing about what their car is. Yes it is up to them what goes on their car and I am sure there are people that think my car looks like a POS, but you know what? I am not going around claiming that my car is something that it's not. There are even threads in this very forum about people trying to sell GTST's as GTR's with a price point to match. And if this thread does nothing more than make people aware that there are con artists out there, who claim things are what they are not and to take care when looking at purchasing a skyline, then that is a good thing!
