Another reason why I am pumped for Williams this year. People are sayings its more fact than rumour...lets hope so. Awesome looking cars, look reasonably reliable and fast to date....Williams to be the Lotus creeper team of 2014 and will be putting money on them winning a GP this year

I like the sound. The V10s were great, the V8s ok , generally just LOUD. The exhaust blown diffuser made them pop and sound cool on trailing throttle. The new V6s have different pitches through the rev range and different octaves....i like the layers. And they are not pulling max revs yet. Love the sound of them into braking areas Oh, and RENAULT ARE UP TH DUFF! So glad Williams went Mercedes. RBR are going to struggle for a while and poor Dan in the deep end. Half a lap after being delayed something like 3 hours and pulls over with smoke billowing from it a few corners after leaving pits

Caterham, from generally one of the best looking cars to....well i hope the on track performance reveals that form follows function

SUX ... McLaren: 'hydraulic and electrical installation issues'. Everything (car, engine, g'box) won't go together and start. Unlikely to run today
-
LOL...It shattered well before Turn 1 and left Hamilton a helpless passenger, in much the same way as Fernando Alonso's wing broke in Malaysia last year. Still wisj I was there drinking cans in the sun...or under the clouds
-
And now the Force India breaks down on track . LOL welcome to new engine regs Though its encouraging to hear that the engines sound as good as hinted in the La Ferrari test mule that was running around with a 2014 V6 turbz.
-
LOL...first car to break down is...lol Ferrari with Kimi behind the wheel. Gets his first ice cream early this season
-
The RBR looks pretty clean. I was hoping for a twin post rear for a bit of retro love but oh well. Roll on testing
-
And STR is ygly assin...right up there with Lotus
-
Well its tough to be reading about all the problems of Lotus, Now Boullier has left! Seriously, you have to laugh at the fact that Pastor got impatient and left what I feel will be a strong Williams and Lotus are going to struggle to have a team. Looks set to be a very bad season Which is a shame as I have always liked the team. Perhaps Haas should step in and buy Lotus rayher than starting from scratch The new V6s sound fine too

Happy that Webber will be driving with Hartley. Anzac, Ex RBR pilots for the Porsche it is then....
-
I reckon the car looks awesome!!!! Clothing ummm. Well thats why I knocked back their drive when they saw me driving around the streets of Hyderabad on a scooter....I just couldnt handle the team shirts!

Forget Heikki....he is solid at best with questionable pace. He didnt cover himself in glory at Lotus by even doing a solid job with them. Was a tough ask to step in to the team, but he probably performed under even moderate expectations. Kobi is a waaaay better bet and is not confirmed. A bit disappointed McLaren didnt pony up with the cash to give Vandoorne the seat Caterham give Frijns a go...but oh well

So since Dennis thinks winning is so easy lets see him start with getting some sponsors. I wonder who their new title sponsor is? They have just released their 2014 Team Merch and it is plan old McLaren with some Mobil and Mercedes signage. Obviously no Vodafone.....and interesting nobody else. You would think if they had a new big sponsr they woudl find their way onto their 2014 merch

Well, personally I think Williams are going to spring a rather large surprise this year. They have been heavily involved with the development of the Audi Le Mans hybrid tech and this year they have Mercedes engines. So combine a good V6 with their know how of getting ERS to perform in a 24hr race etc and the use of KERS for 30 seconds a lap now...well I think Williams will be very strong in this area. Combined with Symonds who is no dummy....and I think Bottas is a good thing and hopefuilly Massa can push his development along. II personally am expecting Williams to do a '13 Lotus! So Brawn would be wise to jump on board...he will get all the control he needs/wants. He wont even have to travel to every race.
-
LOL, that's the first thing I thought of when I read he was getting involved at Mercedes. I think it was a question that Brawn wanted control, not design/management by committee without overall governance. For the same reason he told Merc to shove it I cant see him ending up at McLaren. They simply have too much politics and the reality is he didnt like the Honda way of going racing either. I have read he found it very frustrating. So ... lol that means he will go to Williams...he will, he will, he will...I hope

Dennis was always a wanker. Sorry, what he did to DC and Montoya annoys the hell out of me. He got results in the 80s with Senna and Prost. He got results in the 90-00s due to Newey. Newey in part left because of what a miserable place Dennis made it. So, lol yep, come on back Dennis.. I look forward to going back to hating McLaren rather than feeling sorry for them! And look forward to watching the messiah come back for all to realise that he is just a guy that was smart oenough to know he needed smarter more talented people around him.

Anyone know of someone machining out an L2 housing to suit a normal TD06 turbine?
-
...and there goes Buttons year, not going to be easy for him! RIP John Button

Getting close.. more reports coming out that Caterham will be signing Kobayashi and Ericsson! That will be a good combo! May have preferred to see Frijns rather than Ericsson but oh well

Romain will continue to be a gun! Re Kimi...from Autosport.comon Kimi in Nascar But the race wasn't without its dramas. As anyone who heard Kimi's Abu Dhabi radio chat is aware, he knows what he's doing - even if that means failing to wear the correct protective gear... "When he first came here I looked at his shoes and I told him, 'I don't think you'll be able to run those shoes over here' and he's like, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah that's what I always race with', so he didn't want to put the heat shields on. The floorboards get exceptionally hot in NASCAR vehicles, maybe 125-130 degrees. "But he didn't want to put his booties on as we call them and we are a bit into the race and he comes on the radio and says, 'My feet are getting very hot! Never mind, I will put them out the window!' "I thought that was the funniest thing I ever heard on the pitbox. And that was the only time he brought it up in the whole race."

They may have paid for an engine or two ...but they do not have a confirmed and signed Renault deal. I assume its because they dont have the funding to pay Renault the upfronts
-
Looks like R35 GTR brakes by a different name. Probably just the mounts that they make to ensure the R35 gear bolts to an R32/33/34

Think it was the weekly Sky F1 Show earlier in the year talked that Sony was a possibility when discussing the bad year they were having and chances of damaging negotiations with replacement sponsor. They were talking how the Honda deal could bring Japanese sponsors on board?!?!? Made no sense to me And something else I stumbled across. Lotus still have not confirmed a Renault engine deal. Surely they are using one and building the car around it...but dollars from non existant sponsors etc and payments is stopping a formal deal. I hope they are not in as bad a shape as some media outlets are saying with regards to possibly not fronting as employees still missing pay cheques
-
With SONY as their new sponsor?
