  1. Pagid RS19s are nothing like DS2500s though. Endless CCRG are race pads! The Club Racer are much bitier then DS2500s from what I could feel in the car I have driven with them (WRX so pretty boig variable there). All the suggested pads are damn good pads but bite, temp range and price all very different to DS2500s. My guess again is if you like DS2500s then stay away from Hawk which generally have a lot more bitet then the more wooden DS2500s. QFM A1RM are a decent enough pad but like the RB74 and others I think you will find they wear just as fast, if not faster than DS2500s. If you like the feel and lack of too much bite of the DS2500s then consider something like a Pagid RS4-2 pads. They are a nice pad that are not too bitey (for those without ABS) and last a life time...good on rotor wear as well
  2. The more I think about it the more it makes sense to me....but who knows. What else is Brawn going to do? Williams would be a great home for him and with Maldanado gone gives them a few options with regards to getting a bankable driver in there. Not enthused about it being Massa, I think I would rather Di Resta or someone. A return of Hulk would be great but Hulk I think is past having to gamble with a team taking a step up in performance.
  3. He isnt going to replace Whitmarsh which is the role he wants. At McLaren he wotn have the autonomy he wants and he didnt like how Honda went about their F1 program so no loyalty there. I think if anything Williams makes alot of sense as Frank and co woudl welcome him with open arms and frees up Pat Symiodns to be the tech director
  4. And Jordan who seems to have an uncanny knack of making these calls said several months ago that Brawn will be going to Williams
  5. This ..3 deg is a fair bit of camber if you call KU36, Federal 595 RSR and Advan AD08 semis (a lot of people do these days) if you are running RE55s and the spring rate and roll package you are... I would guess its about close to optimum. With AO50s it could very well be not enough. I ask because the rule is softer springs and less camber is generally required with grippy street tyres. With premium street tyres , running too much camber means you never generate the grip to generate the roll to use the face of the tyre and you end up with an understeery car. My car was finally sorted on RE55s then I moved on to AO50s and have had to change a few things re springs, alignment etc to get it how I want to drive...and its still not there. The thing is way quicker on AO50s but I still have not got the balance of the car as sorted on the AO50s. So from my experience above is why I asked about tyres. And going back to when I ran street Falkens one track day with my optimised RE55 setup,...was a washy piece of understeering poo that was hard to get in, through or out of a corner
  6. Am I the only one hoping he was going to drop it doing skids. Maybe the rear wing into the pit wall!
  7. When you get out of bed of a morning is there any prospect of anything making you happy? I am going to start calling you Alf Stewart! Everyone is a dunce and a ratbag and hopeless
  8. I am looking at a V6 MX6 myself as a stress free daily. I borrowed my folks years ago for about 3 months and they are cool cars. The V6 sounds pretty cool,. revs nicely. They are comfortable, handle ok...and the best thing is the owners are like my folks...mechanics say spend thousands on bushes, shocks, ...stuff...and they typically have. So for less than 4kl its pretty easy to find one with a mature owner and good service history. I am having loads of problems trying to find a decent E36 or B5 A4 because waaay too many idiots have driven them into the ground as the cars second and thirds owners. Stereos were more important than servicing it seems. So, if you like the styline of the MX6.,..which I do I think they are a good fun, low key daily that are dirt cheap. Though they are not mega economical...but that may be the result of how i drove. it. They are not fast, but they rev and are fun. You can get up them and they are brisk and you are not doing anythign highly illegal or going to lose your licence.
  9. Whole discussion is rather mute without knowing the tyres you run. What R-Spec?
  10. What the guy that only won so many GPs because they are hacks these days due to having so many GPs nd had a complicit team mate... and were handing out points like candy? Sorry...couldn;t help myself Massa to Williams Well he can steer if that Brazilian brain of his gets out of bed and isnt having a sook. I hope he brings his top game to Williams....but you cant help but think they would be better taking a young talented guy....hell they are running Merc engines next year so almost rather Sam Bird be given a shot. At the end of the day they need someone that will not bin cars and put it about where it needs to be and hope that the team build a decent car. Not sure Massa i sgoing to put the car where it shouldnt be or help develop the car
  11. I think you will find that the Grp A GTRs all ran 18s...not 17s
  12. LOL, yeh but the RB30 will have more torque... Good to see someone with first hand experience talk of all the headaches and what would likely be associated cost with actually building one
  13. Re Bottas....I think he is doing a great job. I dont recall him crashing into anyone and he is racing in the most heated part of the grid with all the first lap antics and bumping. He has easily out qualified Maldanado more often then not. When he has been up there racing for positions shown good race craft and a level head. Re finihsing positions I dont know the count but he it would be close if not in his favour for generally finishing ahead of Maldanado. And Pastor may not be consistant but he can be damn fast. And Bottas is a guy plucked from GP3 with next to no practice. No mistakes and out pacing a more experienced driver who over a race distance is quick...just runs into too many other cars
  14. After Honda-Brawn are done with them...and once upon a time they would go on to win the WDC (Mansell & Prost )
  15. Fines that have the possibility of influencing behaviour...are at least justifiable. Ploughing into the backs of cars trying to be a superstar under brakes etc...fair enough. Fining a team for a rear wing failing? Should never happen. Did Rubens or Brawn get fined for the spring that actually hurt Massa? No. Racing is dangerous and sometimes parts fail. if you think their cars are failing in a dangerous manner routinely then exclude them from running until they can pass certain criteria in testing or in a lab (provide shaker rig results etc) I dont share the loathing of Massa that some do but I truly hope he doesnt find his way to Williams or Lotus. Lotus best grab Hulk so he can get smashed by Romain...and Williams best stick with Faildanado and Bottas...who I think has a very level racing head on him. You look at him this year, it boggles the midn that he has come straight from GP3! He was on camera a bit this weekend and racing the likes if Kimi, Alonso, and all the others for the whole race...very mature and clever racer!
  16. Its BS...on both counts. The race was over..last Indian GP...newly crowned World Champion...he did it after pit entry. A slap on the wrist and suspended sentence shoudl have been handed to RBR-Vettel. Then you have Williams...they sure as hell dont design it to fail...didnt want it to fail...yet it happened. It snot like fining them is going to make them work any harder to fix the issue. Its BS. Yes it had the possibility of being dangerous. But look at the STR a few years back whose front suspension just collapsed under brakes. Look at Rubens and Brawn & Massa incident...did he het fined? Its BS!
  17. I am actually starting to get a little bit excited that my boy Romain may not force me to endure the years of suffering that Webber has forced upon me! With a bit of luck he may bag a win this year if the tyre compounds from India show up again.
  18. The way Seb carved through the traffic in those first 12 laps was IMPRESSIVE! 4 in a row....big effort and cool celebration! BUT, to hell with Vettel. How good was Romain! Get in there you good thing! And Dan holding on to 10th after a load of laps of constant pressure from Alonso
  19. The interesting thing will be at least if Webber can get on the same 50mtrs of track as Seb with 5 laps to go.
  20. Its looking rather piss poor. Oh well. I suppose it wasnt the wisest bet to make with the $20 Sportsbet voucher Webber has it all to race for tomoz. If he can get it off the line and hold 3-4 for the opening laps he will be in clear air and pace the tyres and cars behind him....he just needs to do a Hungary 2010 and blitz away in clean air
  21. One of the best sounding cars I have ever heard is Colin Bonds old race Alfa GTV
  22. Just watched P2....RBR eating their soft tyres. Hembrey and Newey at back of pits looking at tyres....and Romain 3rd fastest behind the two RBR cars. Over the long stint on harder compound Webber and Vettel were over a second a lap quicker...but...here is hoping that Romain can get his first win...since at 19:1 I thought it was worth a flutter with some free cash
  23. I am never going to race so i give no farks about about chequered flags. Re some good tunes every time I drive the car...well I would take this sound any day I drove my car...who cares if its slow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzvMQdxUPsM https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=V667PHZwaYI#t=815
  24. Seb is good for a mechanical DNF this weekend. The show will go on
