  1. Here's a new camera to consider The ION Air Pro
  2. Here's some options to consider. HD is important as it allows for number plate recognition etc. GPS is also important to establish Date, Time, Location, speed etc http://www.racerecall.com/cameras-by-type-vehicle-black-box-video-with-gps-c-127_96.html
  3. That mount you got from us makes a big dufference, compared to the standard GoPro ones.
  4. There's a new firmware update out for the LTQ6000 that now allows you to use it as a rally trip meter. Used it at Targa nd it worked brilliantly. It logs and records all your stage times etc and you chancheck out speeds, track map etc.
  5. Not Skyline, but definitley not to bemissed.
  6. Here's some tips for best format for the tube. Codec: H.264 or quicktime MOV Bitrate: at least the same rate as the original, typically around 10,000 Kb/sec for 1080P and 8,000 Kb/sec for 720P Framerate: 25 or 30 FPS to match the original framerate. If recorded at 50 or 60 frames per sec, then convert to 25 or 30 respectively as youtube only plays in 30fps maximum. Use MPEG streamclip to quickly trim video with no quality loss or AVS Video Editor or Avid Studio for more complex editing. Here's some video using these settings. Set to 1080P for best results
  7. Let's wait until the guidelines are released, but my understanding is camera and mount is included in the weight. CAMS are quite right to expect a secondary tether on something held on by nothing more that vacum, and reliant on the user applying it correctly.
  8. To claify the position on weights for cameras in cars. There is due out soon a set of CAMS guidelines for mounting cameras in cars. I know, beacuse I was a consultant on the project. Broadly speaking, the weight limit is 200 grams including mounts for each component, without special mounting requirements. Anything over that will need to be enclosed in a special mount. Cameras like the RadCAM HD20, GoPro, Contour, Drift, Replay XD1080 are all well under that weight, and will all comply. No cameras are to be mounted outside or inside unless there is a substantial secondary tether connected to stop accidental release of the camera. I have over 10 years experience in fitting onboard cameras for TV etc and so cameras like the RadCAM are very easy to install and use. I did the onboards for the GT Series at Phillip Island for One HD last year and trust me, if they were that hard to fit, I wouldn't use them. I did 10 cars by myself and even had to change mounting position in between races. The camera can be mounted outside as the new cables are thin enough to be routed inside, allowing the driver to operate the camera. Audio is then sorted as the mic is located on the receiver, rather than the camera mounted out in the breeze. The RadCAM is the official camera of the ARC, V8 Utes, Bondi Rescue, Targa, the Bathurst 12 hour and the WRC Academy etc etc., so it must have something going for it. Battery life is always an issue as we all forget to turn off cameras from time to time and flat batteries are the cause of more lost potential footage than I care to remember. No date set for release of the new guidelines, but I am told it will be soon.
  9. Here's a quick video on setting up the LT-Q600 for lap timing http://youtu.be/diwN3ZXJ6dk
  10. Here's a quick demo of the QSrtarz Range of 10Hz GPS Lap Timers we have on sale at RaceRecall.com
  11. Extrenal mic located near the co-driver usually give the best mix of pace notes and car audio.
  12. The quest fopr good sound and vision in one camera is finally over. RaceRecall.com now has the new RadCAM HD20. This is the successor to the RadCAM HDPro and it has anumber of improvements, namely, Audio gain control over the internal or external microphone, 6 Hour recording on one battery charge and a smaller detachable camera head. Here's a couple of clips to illustrate Both recorded with the internal mic and gain setting on 4 Jason White's Lambo My 911 CS
  13. Here's a couple more to consider Qstarz 10Hz BT-Q1000eX eXtreme GPS Lap Timer & Data Logger Qstarz LT-Q600 Colour Lap Timer
  14. The problem with the GoPro is the plastic case it comes in. A bit like having your head inside a 20ltr drum. It seems to highlight all the high frequency sounds.
