When I had to get my car registered in NSW because I bought it from VIC, the lady who served me at the RTA entered most (if not all) of the information off the Engineering Certificate and didn't blink twice. Little bit of advise for future keep: If you have to get an engineering certificate with your blue slip, ensure the engineer has made everything and entirely accurate on the certificate he gives you. Even if he makes a mistake, it would be easy to go back and ask him to correct and reprint another copy to take with you to the RTA. The channels you have to go through with the RTA sometimes are a joke, so its always best to get it right the first time. I noticed the engineer put SED (Sedan) down on my certificate as the car type, where I think it's meant to be Coupe. So that's what ended up on my registration. That kind of detail didn't bother me so I just went with what I was given. However any other detail like Odo, year, model, etc I can imagine would be rather annoying.

+1000 internetz for Tristan! Here are some more photos taken just before sunset at Port Kembla beach. No matter what angle I did it at, shots turned out a bit glarish lol.

$500 all up. Cut and polish Swirl removal Stone chip touchups Over buff mark removal Full interior vacuum and window clean It looks like a million bucks now. All the faded blemishes in some places are completely gone now. Paint looks deep and smoother than a baby's ass. That photo was taken with my pocket point and click. It doesn't do any justification. You have to see it in person to really appreciate how well it's come up. Where are you taking your car to get tinted? I had mine removed when I got a blueslip because it was too dark, so that's probably next on the to do list. I went to tint-a-car in Flinders St. and it was only $80 to get it removed. The guy that served me there owns a R32 GTR V-spec. Top bloke and everyone I talked to there knew what they were talking about. They quoted me about $380 for a full new tint. They recommended I get the "Formula 1" tint which would look better than the 'darkest legal' tint (looks lest filmy).

Got my baby back from W.A.S today... I'll just leave this here for now... more details and photos to come
-
Might be too late for that. I just said I heard about W.A.S on the skyline Australia forum lol. They seemed to know what I was talking about. Will let you know the results tomorrow arvo!
-
Sure thing yeah, he'll be touching it up with paint.
-
I've just been to W.A.S today after work and they said I can take my car in on Monday morning It was just near HangDog as you said Owen They said it will cost between 200-$500 depending on how far I want to go with it, step by step. Will take a couple days apparently. Buffing, get rid of swirls, paint chips, blemishes and any other marks. He said whoever buffed it last didn't do a great job as there are some buff marks in some places and its had some resprays in some areas in its time. Also looks like the boot has had a bit of over spray aswell.

Next to Wollongong automotive services you say? Are they in Auburn street? Do you have the exact address? I cant seem to find them..
-
See that did cross my mind at first as well, but I don't think that's the case as I'm getting a reading of +11.59V from the wire. Thanks for pointing that out anyways

Haha... Good to see another Owen around here Got a DSLR yet? we should go do a shoot with our cars sometime

I do my own car washes, but I think I'm due for a full cut and polish. I don't trust myself to do it in case I screw up the paint work so I want to get it done professionally. Never been to a detailing place before, but I have found a few places around here in Wollongong. Not sure which one to goto though, so was wondering where people have gone to before and what were the results like? Also, would you go back there again? How much did they charge you and what did you get done exactly?
-
I just put the multimeter on and got a reading of +11.59V. Even more stumped now lol
-
Not sure what has caused this as it's always been like this since I bought the car so has me a little stumped. Currently the the roof light doesn't turn on when the passenger door opens. The driver's side door is fine though. I have ruled out a faulty door button by taking it out, disconnected the single wire attached to it and pressing the wire tip directly onto the door frame, still didn't work. Has anyone else had a similar problem to this or could offer any more tips to try? Cheers.

Nissan Skyline R33 Radiator Issue
Owens replied to jem25's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
If you post in the Wanted to Buy section you will get a better response there hopefully with someone offering you a 2nd hand one cheaper. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Wanted-Buy-f13.html -
Please post any WTB posts in this section: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Wanted-Buy-f13.html

What would be the standard stock boost PSI for a R33 GTR? I'm thinking of disconnecting my boost controller and putting it back on the factory solenoid. Whoever installed the blitz boost controller was kind enough to leave the factory solenoid intact and mounted the blitz solenoid next to it.

By the looks of it they have been rendered from real photos in photoshop using a technique called HDR. You can learn about HDR here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_imaging http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials...namic-range.htm It's pretty awesome and I want to get into it when I get the time. If you type HDR into google images you'll see some awesome examples.

Yeah I was thinking $389 was a bit steep. elrodeo666 was kind enough to source me another GREX kit from Japan cheaper
-
Thanks for all the replies. Good to know I'm not the only one who feels the same about their GTR filter location Looked on JustJap... The GREX/Trust kit looks great. $389.00. Also the Cooling-Pro kit with the 7 row oil cooler is the same price. Hmmm... I'm assuming the GREX/Trust kit would be higher quality? Is it worth the extra hassle installing the Cooling-Pro kit? I don't usually cheap out on quality, so if GREX is better I'll settle for it. Besides, my oil temp always sits between 80 - 90°C so I'm guessing that's fine? Found elrodeo666's 2nd hand GREX kit for $170 delivered, but looks like he's already sold it... Gutted Where did you get yours for $185? Sorry if I'm rambling btw lol

Thanks N1GTR, I'll have a look and see. And yes, the GTR's oil filter is in a real bullshit position to get to. My GTR is a daily driver, so doing a oil change every 5000km's is going to be a regular thing for me so want to make it easier.
-
I'm thinking of getting an oil filter relocation kit so it will make it way easier for me to change the filter when I do oil changes. However I wanted to know if there were any downsides of having it? Would oil pressure be effected? Also for those who have it, what kit/brand did you buy and how much did it you pay?

My R33 GTR came with a Blitz Duel SBC and at the moment its in Off mode. i.e. Running at "stock boost". However, my boost gauge never goes above 0.6bar/8.7psi? Isn't the stock boost meant to be 0.82bar/12psi? Anyways, I would like to set the boost controller so it actually limits to 12psi safely instead of just 8.7psi. I'm inexperienced with this controller and the manual doesn't help much except how to set values. I'm not 100% sure what values to set so don't want to overboost and f**k my engine/turbos So basically the 3 things I'm not sure on is the Limiter, Gain and Ratio. The manual recommends 5 for the Gain mode (RB26DETT) but that's about it. The closest explanation I could find is this: http://www.team3s.com/FAQdsbcmanual.htm but all the recommended settings are for a 3000GT / Stealth. Any suggestions?

Thanks security. I have the receipt that the previous owner and me filled out. He put down $17,000. I'll present that one to the RTA, so then I should get another receipt with the real amount I paid for insurance purposes? Lol.. Whats rego we pay every year for? Really, stamp duty is just another reason for the RTA to ass ram you anyway they see fit. As was mentioned before, it's a commonplace to put down less that what they paid, so was just after peoples experiences. I'm sure I'm not the only black sheep here.
-
Lol wtf, you made 2 threads about this in different sections, I was getting so confused when i saw different replies. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/He...th-t322696.html Anyways, AS I responded in the other thread: I would highly suggest you get in contact with the Novotel hotel manager. He/she should be able to tell you how to get in contact with carpark security who would have security cameras around that car park. As far as I can remember I saw a few in that carpark last time I visited darling harbour.

I recently bought my GTR from vic, which means I have to get it registered from scratch in NSW. I've already spent close to $1000 on my car after I purchased it so it would pass blueslip, and thats before rego. So just trying to save where ever possible. Before I goto the RTA to get registration, just wondering what peoples experiences have been like with putting down less value than what you actually paid for your car? For me my car cost $22,500. Seller was kind enough to put down $17,000 as how much I paid for it. According the RTA website I will be charged 3% stamp duty because its under $45,000. So it's eqautes to about $510 I have to pay -_-. Whats your experience? Did RTA get suspicious? And how little did you get away with. Something tells me I could put down a whole lot less? how can they really tell and whats the worst that could happen?
