yah man mine was meant to be taken to compliance today but the tow company says they only got the request on friday afternoon and didnt have time to fit it in today....so not til 2morrow now

yah well this is my first time importing so i pretty much just followed the advice from jspec....

still ridiculous, i mean its been 24 hours since seaway said they would "call me straight back", and they hadnt so i just called them now and apparently he still hasn't received the paperwork, yet he hasn't chased it up??? i am now waiting for them to "call me straight back" again....and OMG i don't believe it, i just got the call back....i'm told car will be delivered to compliance on monday. fingers crossed i guess, it's only taken just under 3 weeks to get a car cleaned

yeh i will second that. they seem like good guys however it just feels i have to chase and chase them about things that they should be doing anyway. "i'll call the cleaners and call you straight back" , that was yesterday and i still havent had the call back...

i must say im just about finished my whole import journey, using j-spec, and they have been great to deal with. however i would highly recommend to anyone importing into sydney to go with HOBBS for cleaning over AAT. my car arrived the same day as another mates car, they were on the same boat. my car went to AAT and his went to HOBBS. Mine is still waiting for release, a week after it was meant to be released to goto compliance. his came out of compliance earlier this week. so frustrating! this has definatly been the worst part of the whole waiting process. hopefully it gets transported from cleaning to compliance today, but no doubt there will be some other delay!

i went to one of these things last year, it was for that ignition dvd people. the reason that i wanted to go was i thought it would be a good night to kinda chill n browse around and have a look and check out other ppls cars n mods they have done etc, in an appreciative way. this one was also located in a homebush carpark, and guess what happened? first of all everyone was confused because of a late change of carparks, and then when you actually got to the carpark, you couldnt get out. then some tools broke one of the boom gates so the next thing the rangers are there, and then who next? every highway patrol car you could imagine! i'd never been to one of these events before, i just like modifying cars and appreciate other peoples cars. anyways just wanted to let u know my past experience. i also agree though that these things should be held at a location like WSID, as stated has a huge carpark, and really is a more suited location then some carpark in homebush.... just my 2 cents

yeh not really a fan of pioneer, not even that unit. the clarion unit does everything i need it to do, and had last years model in my last car n never had any probs...

mine looks to have the same from photos i got, cant wait to rip the things out i think they look ridiculous!

Yeh i was thinking of going the same way. Was speaking to my mate who works for Clarion and he had suggested to have two screens. My bottom section is a Mini Disk player, so would just yank that out and put in a single din fold out screen....only thing is i prefer the look of the Clarion double din screen, and would two screens be weird? I know alot of people who have the standard screen in their Stagea's like them, and they dont look too bad, though i just like having the extra features of an aftermarket screen like ipod touch screen control, built in blue tooth for your phone etc. Mainly the ipod feature though cos its annoying not to mention dangerous trying to go through an actual ipod to try and find a song or whatever, rather than have it all up on big screen....see what happens when my car gets here i guess.

Well from what i've been told, it should only be 4-5 down at the docks and then straight to compliance, the biggest thing to delay it at the docks is really the steam cleaning....i've got a mate who imports cars and he has two cars of his own on the same ship as mine and is expecting receivership of those early next week....time will tell.

Already ordered one of those rear strut brace from Jin Man, and trying to figure out what wheels im getting too. Have to go see my mechanic and start talking about the money im going to have to spend on her....

Well just wanted to let all you guys know my Stagea has landed....still at the docks but I'm so excited i just had to start a topic on it! A little bit of info about her: 1999 Series 2 RS-Four S 5 Speed Manual Pearl White Dual Sunroofs Dayz Bodykit A few other bits n pieces, but that's the general stuff....located in Hills area Sydney, so keen as for any other locals to do a cruise later on in the month....ummmm yeah that's about it for now i guess!

I'm keen as once my girl gets here....hopefully lands next week so not too much longer!
