    Footwork = suspension
  5. Yes
  6. The RB26 has made it's way into just about every RWD platform over here, more of a "look I did it!" type thing than actually using the RB26 for any huge performance advantages (when installed in a car that had a 2JZ). Although Top Secret have made it clear in the past that the RB26 was just soooo much easier to work with than the 2JZ in their original RB26 JZA80.Having said that I agree with Sydneyskid about the turbos being on the wrong side on the 2JZ , also the "back to back" turbo setup on the earlier twin turbo engines (like on FD3Ss) are a bit wack... Nissan got it right the first time.
  7. Troy, I found out what Marqui Promoda is... it's a sub-line of wheels made by Desmond (Desmond being the parent company). Now I understand what you were going on about before when you couldn't remember the company name.
  8. Two different approaches to the "GT" car... I take the Skyline simply because the Supra *should* be lighter/more nimble for what it is. The 2JZ though is awesome and deserves as much credit as the RB26 IMO.

Yeah Munky, I dodn't know where you got the idea that I pay people to work on my car  But I did go to w00w SuperAutobacs in Sunshine Wharf Kobe... there are some pics of the service area, they do do service and installations stuff like that. That blue FD RX-7 is shop demo car they put together.

    What pics?
  11. PLASMA was the name given to the entire series of engines Nissan made from about 1985... from 1000cc (MA10s) up to 3000cc (VG30DET). I think they dropped it after the R32? Not sure about when, but there wasn't a "plain" RB20 and a "PLASMA" RB20, the whole series of engines were dubbed "PLASMA".
  12. Ah sweet, thanks Lucien
  13. Those links all got wierd on me...
  14. Right, click on this link Fuji Corporation and they've got Work Emotion CR Cai 18x9.5 with tires front and rear for R32 GT-R for 140,000 yen... Fuji Corporation have some pretty good deals on new wheels and tires.Otherwise, if you really like my wheels (Desmond Regamaster) you could go for these: 158,000 yen with 265/35/18 tires at www.hokuei-inc.co.jp
  15. Just heard on the news one person died in a landslide in Kochi in Shikoku I think... I live near the mountains too, I hope my 32 doesn't end up under dirt!
  16. Yep, typoon #23 is over us now in Osaka... not looking good apparently 4 people missing and 20 injured.
  17. Plasma RB20s came out with the R31/32 Skyline, C32 Laurel etc... the red top ones aswell. There are also Plasma VG30s, Plasma RB20Es... even a Plasma CA18S.... and... You're not going to BELIEVE what "PLASMA" means... "Powerful & economic Lightweight Accurate Silent Mighty Advanced" engine. I kid you not.
  18. Doesn't it look insane? The rims are quite wide (maybe 10 inch or so) but they use narrow tyres on them to get that stretched look... with some of the more extreme wheel width and tyre "narrowness" combo's they need inner tubes to keep the tyres inflated. The second last pic is a REALLY good example! Of course all this came about because "Yanki" (Japanese car freaks) try and outdo each other in car modifying. They have legit "gangs", and having those insane modifications are part of being in the gang... the leader often has the wildest car. Not sure why the use mid-80's Soarers and Mark II's as their choice of car though...
  19. Ah harrrr... that it will be me laddie... that it will be.

Peaky almost!! Ikeri, my house is narrow too! I have another friend, his name is Nao (and his girlfriend Chiaki) can they come to your house for Nabe too? So thats Troy, me, my wife Kayo, Ikeri, Ikeri's wife, Nao, and Noa's girlfriend Chiaki... is that ok? 7 people?
  21. Sorry mate, I don't live in Australia... and it's starting to show
  22. Right, but the maker could've used any term to describe the drivetrain for their car, but decided on 4WD... why was that?
  23. In the "GT-R Memorial" book (Japanese publication chronicling the life of the GT-R) is says the GT-R is *4WD*. I understand what you guys say about AWD, but that term isn't used in conjuction with GT-Rs in Japan. It's pretty simple, RWD has some disadvantages on track, the biggest being power on oversteer out of corners. 4WD was used in the GT-R simply to be able to get the power on ealier out of corners therefore reducing track times... and as what has already been stated, quicker lap times is what the GT-R is all about (without going to a MR platform for better weight distribution).
  24. Oh thanks for that... I completely didn't see the "GT-R" bit
  25. If I may (but please slap me down a put me in my place if need be) give my honest opinion, Work Emotion CR Kai look very good on R32's in gunmetal. 18x8 front, 18x9 rear would look excellent.
